This will be my essential oil go-to from now on! There is a plethora of information in this book, all of it extremely helpful and informative. It breaks down how to use essential oils, the top used oils and their benefits/uses, plus TONS of recipes. If you are new to essential oils or looking to learn more, this should be in your toolbox! My thanks to the publisher for the gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book begins with information about aromatherapy and common essential oils and how to use them safely. The remedies and recipes are divided into sections for Emotional Healing, Physical Healing, and Beauty and Wellness.
I like how it goes in-depth about how essential oils work and how they can promote healing in various areas if used properly. There is also a lot of good advice about how to choose a reliable brand of essential oils, and what different terminology means, and how to properly d ...more

“You will learn everything you need to get the most out of each essential oil you work with and become more confident with working with oils,” Amber Robinson writes in the first part of her book, Aromatherapy and Essential Oils for Healing: 120 Remedies to Restore Mind, Body, and Spirit.

When life for the entire universe and planet turns on its end and like everyone else you "have nothing to do" while your place of work is closed, superspeed readers like me can read 250+ pages/hour, so yes, I have read the book … and many more today.
Callisto Media/Rockridge Press was kind enough to send me a copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review.

I try to stay natural as much as I can and I appreciate a good aromatherapy and Essential Oils book that is concise and comprehensive.
The book starts out giving you some history about aromatherapy and essential oils. There is a good amount of information on the science of it from extraction, how they work, grade, purity, today’s oils, reading labels and what it all means. If your new at this there is information on the terminology and techniques.

I have always been interested in essential oils and holistic healing. I saw this book offered on Netgalley and had to give it a try. I enjoyed the information provided on many essential oils, their uses, the three means of deploying them and the history behind them. This book does not just skim, it provides useful information. I learned so much more than the cursory knowledge I have picked up from other books.

The three main reasons I love this book:
Firstly, I love the smell of (most) essential oils. Lavender smells heavenly and is so relaxing. Lemon and grapefruit carries fresh aromas that are cleansing and bright.
Secondly, I love history. And this book explains the history of aromatherapy and the science behind it. Fascinating stuff.
And thirdly, learning the holistic healing approaches of aromatherapy is icing on the cake. It isn't just for treating specific problems, but also works as preventatives ...more

What an awesome essential oil reference! I am "relatively new" to essential oils, having started actively using them over the last 8 months. I found this book so helpful and learned a ton! The bath soak, rollerball, and diffuser recipes will also come in handy for me. I liked how the 15 oils highlighted in this book were detailed and their properties explained. I would highly recommend this book for essential oi ...more

A great reference book for your journey into healing using essential oils. The book is divided into two parts. The first part discusses the basics of using aromatherapy and essential oils. It explains how aromatherapy works and safety when using essential oils. It also lists 20 most versatile oils complete with healing properties, what it can treat, uses, precautions and substitutes. The second part has the 120 remedies (blends) divided into sections for Emotional Healing, Physical Healing and B

I really like this book for beginners. I find essential oils very overwhelming. Robinson breaks out 15 oils to focus on for wellness. I have found other books that make the idea of getting started inaccessible just because of the volume of oils suggested. The book also includes mixtures for various ailments and overall health.
