Three weddings.

Three funerals.

Her divine "gift" is supposed to magnify a partner’s magic, not kill everyone she touches.

(Disclaimer--I'm quite biased, as I wrote this book!)

Three weddings. Three Funerals.

Alessa was chosen by the Gods to ward off the coming apocalypse, but to do so, she needs a magical partner, and unfortunately for her (even worse for them) she can't quite figure out how to stop killing everyone she touches.

As rebellion simmers outside the Citadel's gates, her own guards turn against her, and a desperate Alessa badgers a reluctant street-fighter into becoming her bodyguard, but Dante has dangerou

I was lucky enough to read an early copy of this book, and I cannot tell you have much I LOVED it!!!!

The setting is gorgeous and lush, filled with cinematic elements that gave so much depth and texture to the story, with just enough world building to expertly frame this amazing fantasy world, without bogging the story down.

The characters are layered and nuanced, and Alessa makes for such an amazing narrator. Her voice is so sharp and completely relatable. Her struggle for acceptance is something

I've had the pleasure of reading this book before its publication and am so excited for it to hit shelves in 2022. The Italian-inspired worldbuilding is fresh and feels remarkably different from most of what we're seeing in the YA fantasy space. Alessa, our heroine, is strong and determined, but also reads like a teen, which is really refreshing--she's not perfect, or always poised, she says inappropriate things, has awkward social moments, and worries over the same things I remember worrying ov ...more

I was lucky enough to read an early version of THE LAST FINESTRA, and I adored it so much. The Amalfi coast inspired fantasy setting was so immersive, and I loved the banter and unlikely friendships between Alessa and the other characters. ALSO: bodyguard romance. I'm still swooning. ...more

THIS BOOK! Oh man. I was given the utmost honour of reading an early draft of this 2022 YA fantasy and let me tell you, it has everything I love in a YA fantasy and more! I didn't know what to expect going into this story, so I won't give too much away. HOWEVER if you're ready for the next big thing in two years, add this book to your TBR because it's completely worth it. I already miss Alessa & Dante so much. Their relationship, their hilarious banter, the sexy tension between them, Alessa's co ...more

I was lucky enough to read an early copy of this book and it is soooooo good! The world and the magic are intense! There’s danger, intrigue, and gripping life-or-death action.

Best of all, right at the center is a bickering-flirting love story that absolutely sizzles with sparks! Wow!

I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of this book, and I LOVED it. Gorgeous, lush worldbuilding with a memorable and entertaining cast of characters, THE LAST FINESTRA is not quite like anything else I've read before. I loved Alessa's journey, and how she fights to save her home and her friends without becoming someone she's not. And the banter between her and Dante is A+. Don't sleep on this wonderful book! Out next year! ...more

This book, omg.

I was lucky enough to read an early copy, and I’m obsessed. There was so much I loved. The world, the story, the characters, all of it was incredible.

The world building was beautifully done. Not bogged down in overwrought descriptions, but still lush and detailed enough to paint pretty pictures in my mind. It was a true escape into another world. The story was fast paced with enough tension and twists to keep me on my toes.

And the characters! I LOVE these characters. Alessa and

I was fortunate to read a couple of different drafts of this wonderful story. Emily Theide's prose is gorgeous and her knack for banter is an utter delight. There was line after line of some of the flirtiest banter I’ve read in a YA fantasy--it all felt so fresh for this space. Plus, that setting! Those stakes! Do yourself a favor and pick up this gem of a book. ...more

I was incredibly lucky to read an early copy of this book and I am telling you: YOU WANT IT.

A stunning setting inspired by the Amalfi coast, the haunting promise of a doom-bringing swarm, and a swoon-worthy romance where the would be lovers CAN'T TOUCH?

The prose is lush, the drama ramps up beautifully, and - most importantly - the banter is A+.

Add this to your shelves. You don't just want it. YOU NEED IT.
