Worth The Risk was unexpected in the best way possible. Shannon Davis is a new author and as far as debut novels go this one was fantastic. The moment I started reading I was sucked into the story and this one will take you on an emotional ride.

I was gifted an ARC for an honest review.
In the first part of this book you get to know Jackson and Rebecca. They met when they were eight became the best of friends and destined to be more. Then at the end of the first part something horrible happens. The reader is then catapulted 10 years on wondering what happened. We get to find out gradually and then Rebecca and Jackson meet up again. These two were destined to be together, not too much angst. A sweet story of fate and finding your soul mat ...more

Worth the risk is a really sweet story about two childhood friends who are meant to be. Rebbeca and Jackson met when they were just eight years old and had a beautiful and tender relationship.

Sweet first love. This book stole my heart. I loved its warmth and its vibrancy, its heartache and its pain, its humor, its meanness, the ugliness, the beauty, the crying, and the laughter. I loved Rebecca and Jackson. And I am full on in love with Jackson!! 🥰

I had the privilege to receive an ARC copy to review. As an author myself, I know how awesome it is for someone to love your work. I did enjoy this book. I think as a debut, the author has done a great job. I really loved the first chapters, especially the one during thier high school lunch period at the oak tree. I felt everything with that passage and it took my breath away! But, after reading the hospital chapter it leaves you hanging and the next chapter jumps 10-years ahead. You do find out

I really enjoyed the story. The base story was well done, unique and highly enjoyable!!! The author did a great job giving the characters depth. Their history and traumas were heart wrenching and well told. I felt some parts didn’t need to be there, such as; the drunk mall story. Some of the other descriptions I found myself skimming over, as it didn’t really have any bearing on the story. A lot was put in that I felt didn’t need to be there. It seemed like the author was trying too hard or putt

This is Shannon Davis' debut book and I just say that she started with mastery.
This book left me with a roller coaster of emotions.
The first part of the story shows us how Rebecca Sharp and Jackson Strickland met at the age of eight and how their relationship developed from a childhood friendship to a desire for romance. While dealing with the feelings that arise, Jackson also needs to deal with the problems he faces at home, but luckily he has all the support of his grandmother Ruby, who is a f ...more

Is love worth the risk? Something that challenges us all. Rebecca and Jackson meet as 8-year-olds and become best friends. Their journey is a great example of finding the one at a young age but even though you found your soulmate, whether you end up together is never a sure thing. I enjoyed how this friendship built allowing each friend to be the ‘rock’ for the other when needed. They are a perfect complement to each other. But life is never easy and pulls them apart. When they do reunite, will

This book is told from multiple points of view so FYI if you are someone that can find that hard to follow or confusing. The author made it flow well in my opinion though.
Jackson and Rebecca are childhood best friends that grew up to be teenagers who feel in love. Rebecca is the girl next door with the perfect family while Jackson’s family is dysfunctional at best.

Worth the Risk was an amazing debut from Shannon Davis, and I'm super excited for more of her stories. Rebecca & Jackson met when they were 8 years old, and from that moment, they built a close friendship which went through many ups & downs through the years. By the time they were 18, they had caught feelings for each other but something big tore them apart. Fast forward 10 years (& we don't know what happened yet), they come back face to face when she comes home for their 10 year reunion. The a

I love the way this author writes a story. It begins at the first introduction at the age of eight, and takes you right through their lives. The characters in this story are very relatable.
As much as I routed for the main characters of the story, it was Mrs. Rose that was my favorite character. That old girl, helped raise three generations of her family, had a sixth sense and a healthy relationship with God.

Worth the Risk is an eloquently written debut novel with it's words effortlessly flowing and weaving into a sweet, spicy, and suspenseful romance. Detailed, and descriptive, this book will easily draw you in and sweep you up in it's southern charm. With an overall solid start, I'm looking forward to more from this author👍!

This book really took me by surprise and kept the twists and turns coming. Of course, I knew there would be a happy ending (It literally says "fairy tale" in the title), there was some surprises thrown in as to how Rebecca and Jackson got their happily ever after.

Jackson and Rebecca have been best friends since childhood. They've been inseparable since they met. Unfortunately Jackson's family is less than perfect and he has his own battles to fight, but it doesn't stop him from sticking up for Rebecca any chance he gets.

This book is broken up into two parts, the first being Rebecca and Jackson meeting as children and following them through to their senior year of high school. The YA feel here was swoon worthy and I enjoyed the chemistry and the thorough character building.

This is the first for this author so I guess you could say her debut. Girls and their fairytales, me personally liked Grimm's better. I was intrigued when I seen the word Southern since I live in the south. In this we meet Rebecca whom thought she had her prince but then she was only 8 when it started and then it grew. Then life usually has a way of changing the course sometimes of what dreams are made of. Alas though it did break her heart. Now sometime has past and that pesky ole class reunion

Worth the Risk is the debut release from Shannon Davis and it's a friends-to-lovers/second chance romance that's told in two parts, the first being a young adult romance and the second a romantic suspense read. This book held some promise, with some definite highlights in terms of the main characters themselves and the transformation of their relationship as teenagers and then as adults. Where it falters, however, is in some of the content which didn't really add much of anything to the developm

Worth the Risk is a childhood friends to lovers story. I had a hard time getting into the story and staying there. I can't pinpoint exactly what was the problem was. At times it felt like there was just too much detail, but other times not enough. I did like Jackson and Rebecca, and seeing how their relationship evolved. I thought that Worth the Risk was a okay, emotional read.
