After making several profitable deals, it was time to go back through the Twurgh Gate and return to Earth. Alvin and Gothy had been surprised to learn that the newest member of their harem was a princess, but neither was willing to leave Desiree behind.

Once they were back on Earth, Alvin proposed a new destination, much to the amusement of his companions. They all agreed and went south out of Colorado, into New Mexico. The road south led them back to old friends in new places; Johnny, the native shaman from Bridgeport, was in Ignacio and in desperate need of help.

Strapping on their boots and loading their guns, the slightly demented (but equally fun) group got ready for one of the biggest can of worms they had opened so far.

(This book contains adult situations, in all their horror and glory, including but not limited to: sex, abuse, drug use, and murder. It also contains graphic sex scenes, which portray elements of BDSM and harem. You’ve been warned.)

The only interesting parts of the story are the first couple of chapters and the last couple of chapters, everything else in between is just "we drive to a new settlement, explain the situation, drive away" rinse and repeat.

Secondly, even taking the parts that were interesting, nothing really advances the story enough.

I don't know if I'll be continuing this series.

I liked it
Can of Worms doesn't skip over the days where there are no monsters to kill, because at this point the story isn't just a combat log of who killed what. Oh there is plenty of action and violence. The Zombies are getting smart, -using guns, driving cars, getting strategic. There are giant monsters a plenty, and human threats, but that's not all this is about. There is balance between the bloodshed and the developing relationships between Alvin, Gothy, Mousey, and the other one who's name I keep forgetting, uh, the short one.
Some folks have complained that the base building stuff could have been skipped over or montaged into a fast forward or a flashback footnote, But I'm glad it's in there. It gives the over all effort a larger since of scale. anyone who has ever tried to drive across Texas can tell you, it feels much like that, it it takes days.
The only complaint I can muster is that Alvin's asshole nature which has been mellowing over the last two books is back up to book 1-2 levels and felt a little jarring at times, but what-cha-gonna-do. dude is big hearted for a cold blooded mercenary.

Alert

First, my review: “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”

Over the past year it has become apparent that my reviews are somewhat antagonistic and I apologize to those of you that have taken offense. I think I had hoped to change peoples’ minds about reviewing works of art and that seems to have backfired spectacularly. However, I am still going to be true to myself and write what I believe.

To the author: Thank you for this chance to escape reality and enjoy the world you created! Keep up the good work.

To my fellow reviewers: Messaging me and reviewing my reviews is as productive as trying to shovel water out of the ocean. Stop. I get it. Let’s just all live peacefully.

To potential readers: Art needs to be experienced at an individual level. You are the only one that can determine what you like and don’t like. Don’t let others make that decision for you. You should definitely read the book and completely ignore all of the reviews. You are a much better judge of what you will like than anyone here.

Cheers

A good read, but not my favourite series by Daniel

This series has a lot more hardcore sex than his others with more BDSM aspects involved than I am completely comfortable with. The story is inside a game, but I really preferred Alpha World as an inside game story. Keeping track of the game style bonuses and modifications supplied by runes, special items and even eating is taxing on a person less interested in RTS or dungeon and dragon games like myself. So although I enjoyed reading this book it took a little more effort to read. After just reading Binding Words book 5 which was awesome, this felt a bit longer and two paced with the action sudden and over fairly quickly usually winding down to a sex scene soon after. I still gave it 5 stars, but I probably would have given it 4.5 stars and if that was possible.

Book report for zombie apocalypse number 6

This is really funny, I'm 55 years old and I'm doing book reports, LOL!

I read all the books from one till this one now , and it's only gotten better. I can't really wait to see how much further he is going to take it but it's getting better and better and better each time.

I'm the things I really like about it are the places they go, and how people act when under stress good and bad.

Also I like how things are changing through the books, zombies getting faster and smarter, for one.

And tying it in with the Roswell alien stuff was just funny!

So really do yourself a favor, and read any or all of these books. You really won't be disappointed.

Series has really grown on me.

Team asshole are murder hobos, exploring the post apocalyptic world. The MC and his moll are sociopaths who love to kick butt and take names. Then they added a dark elf and a dwarfen warrior to their harem/family. Their mouths write checks, but their skills can cover the tab. They love to put a lethal hurtin on those who talk smack or worse take up arms against them. Then they retire to their extra dimensional base to engage in naughty but consensual activities.

Sadly only 2 more books left in the series (at this time).

Active

Consistent characters and themes are difficult to maintain, especially as a series continues over years, but this series makes it seem easy.
After the relaxation of book five, the team gets back to exploring, killing, and looting. They meet a dozen settlements, cross a new gate, fight new legendary monsters, get a new vehicle, and even make a new friend or two.
An engaging return to "normal" for the series, that left me wondering what big twist the next book will have.

This is a series that I've had to take another run at, as the first time out the second book just didn't hold my attention. Having re-set, I'm enjoying it, and I find the story balance (action-plot progression/slice of life emotional stuff) better than I recall from when I gave up the first time. Could just be me, but whatever, as I look forward to the next one.

Like it

Like it but my least favorite of the authors series. Like the idea of it more than the story or the characters themselves. Don't care much for the cast of characters, and there are so many much more interesting things that they could be doing, but it's a decent story. Like the authors two newest series much more, but all of them are worth a read.

If you’re new start with book 1

The story is going strong with only a few weak points which may or may not be there for future plot events. I will be reading book 7 when it comes out. Also if you like this series you should check out his other works as I enjoyed these books as well.

Hero and team venture forth

Love this series. Hero and company are not your typical do gooders helping people because they should. Nope it’s all about cold hard XP which in this new world is better then cash. Can’t wait to see where they go next. And who they add to the growing harem.

Perfection

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes lewd and rude! (MCs, that is). I eagerly await the next book, but there’s one lingering question I have that google won’t answer. What’s flaze? It’s described as a food, but google only refers to it as a verb. And it’s used too prevalently to be a mere construct of the author’s imagination. Anyways, go team MurderHobo!

A kick ass continuation to the series!

Alvin and family have kicked ass from Colorado to California and back to the Great State of Texas. But the dangers are increasing... The Greys, two separate sides of the same race, and the increasing intelligence of the Undead streaming from the major cities.

I know this series is polarizing, but I really enjoy this series.

Book 6 was truly enjoyable. I blasted through it in a few days. I’m a huge fan of the character / stat / item power.

I encourage everyone to give these books a chance and if particular content bothers you just skip and enjoy mature aspects of the story.

Love this series

This book was an awesome continuation to an existing awesome series. The assh*me factor may fit the MC be a bit much but still a lot of fun. I like the exploration and new discovery this is my favorite parts. I wonder if he will set up some remote settlements for resource harvesting as some new components are coming available. Still can't wait for more.

Ugh...I need more

I can't wait to get the audio of this one. The battles were amazing and the attention to detail was beautiful you could practically follow along on your own map the whole way through...yet another masterpiece from Daniel.

Great Fun!

Another great addition to this series. Well written and fast paced! Alvin is a true anti hero but has a strong moral code and takes no B.S
Zombies, Dwarves, elfs, aliens and dragons to name a few, this series has it all!

Next in series, not a lot of content

It's a decently sized book and definitely the next in the series but 3 sex scenes that ended with 3 paragraphs and not a whole lot of character progression. Setting things up for the next book, very excited for that one.

More

Pretty good, liked it from beginning to end although at the end it seemed kinda rushed. Like he was just writing enough to meet a number or something. I've never seen so many story breaks(lines or dots stating the end of a "scene")

Fantastic

Amazing book that's easy to get lost in the story of, I mean it's currently 6.36 am and I just finished reading through the night. It's refreshing to see characters that aren't saints and heroes. Team A☆☆hole takes no crap from anyone

Best book so far

This was the best book in the series I think so far. Had good amount of action, fun new toys of all kinds and the adult times were about right, not all over done. Will be the next book in the series.

On finally caught up in the series. I'm not usually a huge fan of game lit adult fantasy but this series has changed my mind completely!!! What a great storyline, some exceptional characters and their interaction is spot on. Can hardly wait for more!!!!

Excellent book as always

As usual, as shown by his other long running series Alpha World, Daniel keeps the series flowing with the same action, adventure, memorable characters and interactions from book one till the end... well done!
