Void of Power: First Generation is honestly one of those books that you look at, read the blurb, have your curiosity piqued, and then dive in and are in for a real treat. When I first saw the cover of this book, I was mildly interested. I read the blurb, and was like...well, let's see where this book goes. Once I started reading I knew that the author had a real winner on their hands and I could NOT put this book down. I DE-VOURED this book. Yes. It's THAT good. This book combines the wild west, ...more

This book is set in Texas, 60 years after the Cultural War Treaty ceded Texas to create "the Void", a land where the rules are what you make of them and what you can defend. The main settlement is led by a family with some unique strengths, the Walsh family utilizes the many resources they possess ...more

This is a futuristic fantasy novel with a lot of action! The setting is Texas after the Cultural War Treaty has been set up. The treaty states the federal government and all of its agents may not enter the Void. The Void now belongs to no one and exists with its own rules. The inhabitants include “settlers”, gangs and drug cartels. Think of the wild west with modern technology and huge advances in very high-speed flight and aeronautics.

The “settlers” of the Void have come to rely on The Defender

An adventure story of the future! This book keeps the reader on the edge of his seat, as it showcases a group of people that come from all over to become a family. There are a couple of children who take a journey that brings them to the land of the Void, which is a place that is hard to live in, with all the lawlessness that plagues the place. But these children can take care of themselves! It's an amazing story full of interesting characters that you get to know in the book, and it's crazy wha ...more

This was an impressive book. The story is definitely out of the box. It was stunning perfection. I will be looking for more books from Mr. Radford. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
