Zandra York just got her big break, photographing a major project for a travel magazine. So what if she’s never traveled out of the country before? Or that she’s more adept at deciphering fraudulent financial statements than reading German train schedules? Her brother Jackson is on his way to act as her guide, and she can’t wait to experience Europe with him.

Zandra and Blake have known each other for years because Blake is her brother's friend. Now, Zandra has an amazing opportunity to travel and take photos-a dream career come true. Circumstances cause Blake to end up chaperoning Zandra because she is not an expert international traveler and needs some help. Early on, they admit feeli

This is the first book by this author that I have read and I thought it was an ok read. A brother’s best friend to lovers’ romance and this is one of my favorite tropes but I just couldn’t get into the story. The characters were ok but they were not enough to keep me invested into the story. It was a quick read. I was just hoping for more.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I usually loved romance that involved brother’s best friend with best friend’s sibling. How the involving parties navigated the so-called bro-code, the familiarity already built between the two MCs; those are among the huge plus. Combined with the blurb, I had quite an expectation of Melia Alexander’s SEDUCED BY THE SOLDIER. Which is unfortunate - for me - that I wasn’t amused at all by the start of Blake and Zandra’s adventure.

See here, I’m not a frequent traveller whatsoever, but even I’m a b

When I saw this book on Netgalley I was immediately intrigued. There’s just something about that cover that really made me want to read it. So I requested it, and I was super excited to received the email saying I got approved to read an ARC of this book.

There are several things about ‘Seduced by the Enemy’ that stood out to me. For one, Blake’s character. I just loved him. He was this strong, caring and sweet guy. And I really found his character amusing and fun. And the moments he spoke about

I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Blake is a soldier. It's something that he is good at and a means to an end. When he's supposed to be on leave, his best friend asks for a favor. Zandra has always been like a sister to Blake...until she wasn't. Blake has seen Zandra as a woman for a while, but he knows that she's off limits.

Zandra is so excited for her new adventure. She is no longer under her parents' thumb a

Sandra and Blake know each other from the teenage years. Blake is the best friend of her older brother. Zendra got her first photographing in Europe so she is going with her brother but…Blake turns up instead. The relationship between him and her was amazing. I enjoyed this romance and characters, but I just couldn’t get into the story. I read and reviewed an ARC

I liked this book by this new-to-me-author and read it in (almost) one go.

Zandra is a very pleasant, quite lovable main character with clear goals she want to acchieve which are so against the expactations of her parents. She breaks out her shell and does what she always wanted: starting a career as a photographer.

It's delightful to follow her along, how she is pursuing her dreams and you can definitely feel the joy

My first story by this author.

Seduced by the Soldier wasn't a bad story but I think it wasn't the right story for me at this point in time. If you've read any of my reviews then I'm sure you realize that I read more gay/MM romance than anything else. Having said that, I still enjoy reading the occasional M/F story so I didn't mind reading this one when asked to review it for Xtreme Delusions.

Several things about the blurb for Seduced by the Soldier caught my attention. Brother's best friend? Cou

I read this beauty in one sitting, I could not put this down! The perfect combination of the unwilling meets the unknowing and a heap of sexual tension, humor and charm. Zandra and Jackson could not have been more perfect. Jackson is her brothers best friend who stands in for him when he's called out on a mission and can't accompany his sister on her first trip to Europe. He calls upon Jackson to go and Jackson begrudgingly complies, he's on leave too and had plans. Plans that didn't include bab ...more

This one didn’t grab me immediately, but once I got into the story I was definitely rooting for our couple to overcome the obstacles in their path. A brother’s best friend romance with a twist, this book pairs a woman just starting a job that will take her around the world, and a soldier who is counting down the days until he can start living a normal life. This unlikely pair have known each other for years, but it isn’t until they’re thrown together on a trip that they truly become more than ac ...more

Sweet and steamy…”Will they, won’t they”?
I truly enjoyed this story but it seemed to take soooo long for Zandra and Blake to accept their mutual feelings. With all the sexual tension in this book it still took to chapter 10 for the first kiss and then chapter 22 for sharing the bed. Btw, those scenes are beautiful and my mention here is not truly a spoiler. They really need to be read to be appreciated.

Zandra York has known Blake Monroe since her teenage years. He was her brother’s best friend. An attraction simmered but she was too young and he had responsibilities.
When Zandra leaves her accounting job to work in her dream job as a photographer, her first assignment is in Europe. It’s her first overseas trip and knowing that she’ll need help navigating the train stations etc, she enlisted her brother’s to help. Little did she know that her brother recruited Army Capt. This was a fun, quick read full of adventure and chemistry.
The descriptions of the travel locations made me want to travel there myself. The unique people they met along the way. The conversations they had and the banter. Such fun.
I loved the relationship between Zandra and Blake. Starting out as long time friends and then growing into more from there. They didn't hide their feelings from each other and that's something I can get behind. Honesty. I like you, you like me. What are we going to do

I like the brother’s BF trope but this one didn’t work for me because of the heroine.
Finally taking a stance to follow her passion, Zandra leaves her job with her family’s accounting firm to pursue freelance photography when she lands a job with a travel magazine which involves travelling to Europe. Not being someone familiar with travelling out of country, she recruits her brother to be her guide but his BF turns up instead.

I thought this was a short & sweet novel. I read it in one evening. It didn't hit all the things I prefer in my romance novels, but I don't take stars away for certain personal preferences (like how much I hated the name Zandra, for example).

The characters were fun and I really liked the traveling aspect of the book & the secondary characters were a hoot. A bit of a slow-burn here, too.

My main concerns? I would have loved th

I enjoyed this contemporary romance. Zandra is an engaging woman who finally broke free of parental obligations to take a chance and tackle life on her own terms - as a traveling photographer. Blake travels a lot with the military, but longs for the day he can finally reach for his dreams and build a life as an attorney. They're dreams are incompatible, but they can't stay away from each other.

I enjoyed the characters, but it took awhile for me to connect for them - they just felt a bit flat and

Zandra and Blake have known each other for years - he's her brother's best friend - but it's not until he accompanies her on a work trip that they really get to know each other.

It was fun to follow their travels across different European cities as Zandra takes photos for her first professional photography job. The author did a nice job with describing their travels and the interesting locations they got to visit. It also made me want to plan a trip to Europe for myself.

What a fun adventure this book was! I loved the sarcastic and then fun banter these two had together, which only comes from knowing someone a very long time. Blake was so protective, supportive and encouraging with Zandra. It was very endearing and she loved it, to have someone other than her brother on her side. She was determined and didn't want his help, other than being her photography assistant. But he came through for her on more than one occasion. They made a great team and I loved how th ...more

I love a good sibling’s friend/sibling romance. And this is that. Plus I love me a good soldier and Blake is definitely a good soldier and one who needs to heal. I think Zandra (love her name) has her own healing, but perhaps in a different way than Blake.

Zandra is finally doing what she wants and photographing for a magazine of far off locations – at least far off for her. And she might be a little naïve but she’s ready to spread her wings and not work in her parents’ accounting firm. And than

I enjoyed this book. It's not an author I'm that familiar with, but now I'll look out for her books. Zandra and Blake's romance starts quite slowly. A lot of the book is about Zandra becoming more comfortable with her talent and more independant. Blake is keen to be protective of both Zandra and his mother. He has put his personal ambitions on hold to ensure his Mom gets success in her career. Zandra has to come to terms with the idea that

This author’s impressive research and feelings from the beginning drew me in by being able to picture Zandra and then Blake. Her well written descriptions of each character in the book allows you to feel as if you know them. I found I could picture the “chocolatier”, see the chocolate flowing, glass shop and owners, walk along the lock bridge and follow their quick tour thru Europe. Would have loved her continuing the story a few more chapters before the ending.

This was a cute, sweet read about a soldier who falls for his best friend's little sister after years of knowing each other. Their love felt very genuine and there was great chemistry and banter between them. However, I felt the story went off in unnecessary tangents at times and the ending was way to abrupt for me. I would have loved to see them work through their relationship a little bit more than just a mention in an epilogue. Overall though, this is a great way to warm up your heart this ho ...more

Zandra has traveled to Germany for her big break as a photographer, but instead of her brother Jackson showing up to help her out she finds herself face to face with his best friend, Blake. Days and nights of traveling together through Germany however prove that resisting their attraction is impossible.
