This book would be great for a science class ,it focuses on various sea creatures that look so cool that you wouldn't believe they're real, with accompanying fascinating pictures. This book would be a great book to use after students have finished an assignment and are waiting for the next set of instructions!
This book is perfect fr students to read independently in grades 3-5!

This is a great introduction to animals that live in the deep dark of the ocean. There are cool pictures to draw students' attention. This book is level M and easy to make a lesson about main idea and details for. I know my students are going to enjoy this one!

I'm a fan of deep sea creatures, so I may be biased. This was a great book to teach kids about some of the more interesting creatures in the ocean. However, kids with over active imaginations might want to pass on this book because you will never get them in the ocean again.

The 5 year old brought this home from her school library. She enjoys learning about bio-luminescent deep sea creatures. She was happy with it and learned new things.

Melvin Berger is a prolific writer of science books for kids. Writing books for all the major series throughout the decades. He wrote a set of these books for "Hello Reader" where the title starts with an exclamatory word. Most of them are now out of print, including this one (though amazon.ca says it is available), but a few other titles can be found under the Scholastic Reader series. "Dive!" is a great non-fiction easy reader! Filled with photographs, this is a subject that is sure to amaze and possibly creep any reader. These fascinating creatures from the depths of the deep sea are so unique in behaviour and appearance that it is quite gripping to read about them. Straightforward easy-to-read sentences make the text accessible to readers who are past the sound-it-out stage but some topic specific words will prove challenging. Highly interesting!
