Darby has always been ‘that’ guy.
The guy that no man, woman, or child wants around their loved one.
See, a long time ago he made some bad decisions. Those bad decisions have haunted him ever since. No matter what he does, people still see him as the town’s screw up. The boy that sold his soul to the Devil.

I think Darby Valentine is one of my favorite cowboys ever! He used to be proverbial bad boy of Kilgore... and when I say bad, I mean baaaaaad! He was so bad that his brothers, the men who loved him most, didn't expect him to be any better. Even when he had obviously changed, settling into being a man and leaving the bad behavior and actions behind, they were still waiting for the other shoe to drop. At first, their skepticism was something Darby could understand. He was that bad. However, when ...more

Darby and Waylynn…I enjoyed their story.

It was a sweet enemies to lovers’ book.

Waylynn and Darby not only know each other from growing up in the rodeo together, but from college. And let's just say, they were not friends.

Life push them together thought and at just the perfect time. Darby needed Waylynn and Waylynn needed Darby, even if they did not realize it at the moment.

But will they each be able to get past their own family issues? Can they help each other mind fences?

One thing I am loving a

This book was a little unexpected. We got to experience Darby’s family through their own stories but we got a completely valid and different perspective from Darby’s point of view. I liked that the story dug deep to show the lasting effects of a misspent youth but also redemption.

Waylynn was a little firecracker. She spoke her mind no matter who it was to and she saw more regarding Darby than anyone else did. She and Darby had a really sweet connection even when they thought of themselves as ri

Darby is my favorite Valentine.
Wonder if Gibson will get a story?

Ok so that epilogue made me all warm and squishy. But I really can't believe that's the end of my Valentine's. I had honestly forgotten that this was it when I started reading the book so when I got to that epilogue and it hit me I suddenly wanted to read a hell of a lot slower.

Darby was such a misunderstood character. His family still saw him as the hell raising, angry, trouble making, teenager he had been and missed the years where he had grown up and turned his life around. And I felt his pai

GET BUCKED is a sweet sexy romance about an ex-bad boy (who happens to be a cowboy) and a girl who fall in love.  There's not a lot of drama between them or in the book but there is a lot of  chemistry, friendship and love.  I enjoyed every minute of reading GET BUCKED.

GET BUCKED is the end of The Valentine Boys series, I'm going to miss their world but feel that Lani Lynn Vale ended the series at the perfect time and the perfect story!  The epilogue is great and it still has me smiling.  Adio

Oh Boy, what a way to go... Get Bucked wrapped up in PERFECTION this extraordinary series! Darby and Waylynn were the perfect match in every way, and their love story was the most perfect of closures and HEA to these Valentine Boys!!!

I can't believe we are saying goodbye already to this series, that has become one of my LLV favorites. There is just something about these broken cowboys that grips you hard and makes you never want to let go, and that is exactly what ha

Get Bucked was a sweet story. I loved how Darby was portrayed—as a man with checkered past, and how Way stood by him and defended him when Darby was at odds with his brothers.

I'm not even a little bit emotionally prepared for this series to end.

Darby's story is everything I wanted and then some.
This is by far my favourite book of this series and Darby and Waylynn are some of my favourite characters ever point blank period.

Darby may be the baby valentine boy but he's all grown now. Does he have a past he isn't proud of? Absofuckinglutely. Should he be forever condemned because of it? Fuck no.

"killed someone?" I asked.
He have me a roll of his eyes. "No."

Emotion-packed series finale…

I’m not ready for this series to be over. Not one little bit. The ‘boys’ were very different, each with their individual issues and strengths. And sets of chaps… If it had to end, Darby and Waylynn’s story struck the exact right note to leave it on.

Trauma and tragedy marked all the Valentine brothers and Darby was the last to find his even footing. He’d spent much of his distant past reacting to the event that robbed them all of so much. Turning that around, the last

I loved Darby's story. Darby was sort of like the black sheep of the family. But that was in his teenage years. And when he sort of attacked a police officer and the officer didn't arrest him, he took a different path. He changed his life, finished high school and now finished university, top of his class. His life was no longer the troubled teen, but for some reason his brothers didn't see the new him. So when he told them he has a new job and they didn't like that and he moved out.

Darby may have made some bad decisions when he was younger, but he's straightened up and has been an upstanding citizen for years now. He aced college, now has a job teaching at his university, along with still helping on the family ranch. And yet, his family still treats him like he's the same hellraising kid he was years ago. He's sick of it. And then Waylynn pokes her adorable nose in his business and decides to show him that he is a good guy deserving of love. Will Darby let her in o

I waited a long time for Lani Lynn Vale to release the Valentine series, and it was worth the wait. I’ve enjoyed this entire series, and these cowboys will always have a special place in my heart when it comes to Vale’s fictional East Texas world. Long time readers know the tragic history of the Valentine family, and Lani let that history fade to the background in this series, giving her readers the opportunity to see them heal and moving onto to their happily ever afters.

Get Bucked is the book 4 and the final installment in The Valentine Brothers series by Lani Lynn Vale. This is Waylynn and Darby's story and can be read as a standalone read.
Darby is the youngest Valentine and due to the tragedy in his past, he acted out in his younger years. Now that he is older and more grounded, he isn't who he was years before but people don't want to see that and treat him as a huge screw-up. He has moved on and become a part-time bullfighter and a college Professor (yummy

This book was too short. I feel like I just started it and then... it ended. I can't believe how fast I read this.

Waylynn and Darby never used to get along until recently and that's because Waylynn stays away from bad boy cowboys and that's what Darby is. So she stayed away yet still admired him from afar. He was just too hot not to feel drawn to him. They same could be said about Darby's attraction to Waylynn but he knew she avoided him so he stayed away until she didn't anymore. Now, they spen

Darby's story is finally here! As the youngest Valentine boy, he has always been treated like a problem child by his siblings. He takes it because he was a problem child. Darby is all grown up now and hasn't been in trouble in many years and Get Bucked gives readers Darby's story!

I wasn't sure how I would feel about Darby as a hero. However, he is wonderful! He has completely changed his life around and does all kinds of things for his family and never complains. It was great to finally se

4 Star Review Get Bucked (The Valentine Brothers #4) by Lani Lynn Vale
We all make mistakes and sometimes those mistakes follow you throughout life, no matter how hard you try to overcome them. That is the position that Darby Valentine finds himself in. No matter how hard he tries to prove he has changed, the people of his hometown refuse to see him other than the bad guy who made stupid and costly mistakes.

Waylynn Jennings knows that Darby has changed and is determined to make the townsfolk see

I have been waiting for Darby’s story and Lani Lynn Vale did not disappoint. Darby and Waylynn were perfect for one another. Darby knows that he did things in the past that has left his family disappointed in him but he isn’t that guy anymore. In fact his sister and brother in-law have both forgiven him but for some reasons his brothers still see him as that misguided youth. He’s worked hard to be the man he is.

Darby is the first to admit that he didn’t handle his painful past the way that he should have but he is no longer the boy that caused so much trouble. He has graduated college and returned to Kilgore where not only is he working but he is trying to be there for his brothers. The only problem is that they can’t see past the mistakes he has made and appreciate the man he has become.

Darby & Waylynn were super cute together. Loved how they supported one another through difficult times & how wild they enjoyed gettin' down in that trailer.

Darby... He was such a stud-muffin sweetheart. Serious but playful, professional but with his own cowboy twist, stoic & sexy... Baby Valentine had ALL of the good stuff goin' on for him. And I loved how he's the favorite Uncle!

Waylynn... Dang, I felt bad for how her dad treated her. Talk about giving her the brush off time & time again... :(

This is the final book in the Valentine series. This series has been good & wonderfully written as all of LLV’s books are, but was not my top series. I enjoy her other series focusing on cops, firefighters, etc. in characters. Don’t get me wrong these sexy cowboys are enjoyable & are full of steaminess! Darby, the baby of this family & in prior books had the bad boy vibe with some juvenile delinquent mixed in. I expected so much more in his story, more of his earlier years & showing more of how ...more
