In #1 New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong's next Rockton book, A Stranger in Town, the biggest mystery is the fate of the town itself.

Detective Casey Duncan has noticed fewer and fewer residents coming in to the hidden town of Rockton, and no extensions being granted. Her boyfriend, Sheriff Eric Dalton, presumes it’s the natural flux of things, but Casey’s n

My thanks to St. Martin's/Minataur Books, Kelley Armstrong and Netgalley.
Stuffs going down in Rockton, and I'm loving it!
A few of the older mysteries are solved and a few others pop up! People die, and of course there is a lot of trekking through the woods.
I loved every moment. Can't wait to see what happens now.
This is a series that should be read from the beginning. Even though I hated it. But, something kept me coming back. I think every book is better than the last!I

This entire series has been a hit and miss experience for me. I actually gave up on it a few books back.... but just like potato chips, I craved more!

Unfortunately, this latest release found its way directly into the ‘miss’ pile for me. After loving her previous release Alone in the Wild, I was anxious to dive in.
But…oh my! I just couldn’t keep up with all the characters.

When Casey and Eric come across an injured woman in the forest, they rush in to help. Terrified and disoriented the wom

A new Rockton novel by Kelley Armstrong that unfortunately left me wanting.

Gosh.. What can I say here: I started out liking “A Stranger in Town” and then the storyline just completely lost me.

This novel included too many characters and too many groups of people - the hostiles, the settlers, the hikers, the danish, Emilie, Jay - a new resident, Sophie - the injured hiker, all of whom simply confused me and made it such that I was unsure as to who actually was “A Stranger in Town.” Simply put, I j

I have loved all the books in this series and sometimes wish I could become one of the residents of Rockton, even though I hate the cold.

On this, the sixth outing of the series, we are given a fine look at the town, its establishment, and the circumstances that have given rise to the first and second settlements, and the dreaded hostiles who are also inhabitants of this remote area.

When a stranger who is seriously hurt is found, it is the job of Casey and and Erik plus some other community memb

A Stranger in Town is the sixth book in the Rockton/Casey Duncan series.

The mystery in A Stranger in Town is self-contained to this book. However I would highly recommend reading these books in order. It is possible to read this book without having read the others. But IMO the enjoyment will not be the same. There is so much history and character development. So I feel like a reader would not really understand the relationships if this series is not read in order.

I absolutely love Ke

I am a huge fan of this series so I went into this book with pretty high expectations and they were all met. I was drawn into the mystery and couldn't wait to see how everything would come together in the end. There were some pretty unexpected developments and enough action to keep things very interesting. I do think that this series needs to be read in order since a lot of the things that they are dealing with in this book tie into previous mysteries. It was nice to check in wit

Disclaimer: I am a Kelley Armstrong fan. I have read all of her books and loved them all. But, there is a reason why I and at least a million other readers consider her a world class author. Her books may be fictional, her characters not someone you'd meet on the street, but you easily get to know them as she builds them from page 1 of the 1st book. Yes, this is the 6th Rockton book. It can easily be read as a stand alone, but the first 5 are just as good as this one and you really do not want t ...more

I am a SERIOUS Rockton fan! I doubt I could live there, cause I'm kinda wimpy and hate to be cold, but I would totally watch a "good" Netflix series ;) Tons of excitement here, love the bear attack. Waiting for the next part will be hard!

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of A Stranger in Town.

I really enjoy the Rockton series so I was soo excited when my request was approved.

** Minor spoilers ahead **

Casey and Duncan, her loyal boyfriend and partner, are enjoying a non-eventful day with friends when an injured stranger crashes the party.

The stranger's appearance sets off a shocking chain of events that has Casey unraveling a criminal act from the past with a disastrous aftermath that has reverberated through Rockton for de

I was so excited to get this so early! I’m quite fond of this mystery series, and this one really moved things forward with Casey’s investigation into the Hostiles. I’m not sure how long Armstrong plans to keep the series going. With the ending it had, I hope it’s just poised to go in a new direction and not getting ready to wrap things up. I want to fall on the floor and groan when I think about the long wait for the next one.

While I love this series, this one wasn’t my all time favorite.

Don’t get me wrong, I still liked it and I’m still all in. It’s just that this one reads more as a set up for what will make a very interesting (and necessary) next step in the series.

Casey and Eric are still awesome, and I’m loving Casey’s sister so much – she’s fast becoming one of my favorite characters. However the book focuses a bit more on the hostiles and I kind of missed the focus on the townspeople.

The book still moves at

A Rockton Novel Number 9

We’re back in Rockton with Detective Casey Duncan and Sheriff Eric Dalton, along with all the characters we’ve grown to love! But this time the entire town may be in danger.

When a badly injured tourist from a group of four bursts out of the forest screaming and hysterical, Casey and Eric take her back to Rockton’s clinic for April to examine her. At the same time, a new resident shows up who understands the woman is speaking Dutch. Hm…

Are the hostiles at work again? Or is

Kelley Armstrong's sixth book in the Rockton series foreshadows changes that may take place. Do the council want to close Rockton for good? Is that the reason for fewer people being accepted into the community?

I am a huge Kelley Armstrong fan, and A STRANGER IN TOWN lives up to her reputation as a fantastic genre/mystery writer. The Rockton series is one of my favorites, bringing back the main characters we love (Casey and Eric in particular), in a new mystery. The sixth book in the series, A Stranger in Town continues the bits and pieces we love -- Rockton, the side characters, their ongoing relationships that keep us entertained -- and adds a new conflict: Rockton is being shut down. I adore that th ...more

Thank you NetGalley, Kelley Armstrong and St. Martin's Publishing Group for early access to A Stranger in Town by Kelley Armstrong. I've been thinking aa lot about the question, "who is your favorite author?" It bugged me because I like so many authors and genres and it really depends on my mood. Then I realized that Kelley Armstrong writes so many genres, has so many series and standalone novels, and I love them ALL! A Stranger in Town is the sixth book in the Rockton series. Another thrilling story in the Rockton series. So much happens in this book. The pacing is action packed and fast. Casey and Dalton have more than one mystery on their hands. It's full of twists and tension. I love the relationship between the two and the community. Over the course of the series I have become invested in this town and the people in it. I was surprised by the direction things took. I suspect we are coming to the end of the series and I will be sad to see it end. I can't wait for ...more

A Stranger in Town is the 6th installment in the Rockton series, and is another winner. An apparent tourist is found in the woods outside Rockton, badly injured and incoherent. Rockton Detective Casey Duncan’s investigation leads to even more mysteries as the plot takes off. This is a great series, with interesting characters that you get invested in, and an unusual and different back story as to the origin and purpose of Rockton. This is a stand-alone book, but I recommend reading at least the ...more

I received this ARC for an honest review. I swear the Rockton Series just gets better and better. I love this series. Kelley Armstrong knows how to pull you into the story. This book Is about Casey and Dalton in a secret small town in the Yukon called Rockton. It is a community that help hide people who got into trouble (suppose to be white collared crime). The council runs the town from the safety of civilization. Casey is the detective, and Dalton is the sheriff. They became a couple. In this ...more

Rockton was created years ago in an isolated area in the Yukon territory, with the purpose of allowing a select group of individuals to pay to hide there for two years. People are constantly coming and going, but there is a core group to form continuity. Some residents are hiding from their crimes, some are hiding from their abusers, and some just need an escape from life in civilization. All of the residents have secrets, which only the sheriff and the council that overseas Rockton know. They a ...more

Thank you to St. Martin's/Minotaur Books, #KelleyArmstrong and #Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review "A Stranger In Town" - the 6th (cannot believe it's six books already!) instalment in the highly entertaining Rockton series.

As with every one of these books, things happen at an almost breakneck speed - it's almost like the 'Perils of Pauline" as each chapter seems to end with someone in danger and someone exclaiming "What the f**k!"

It’s Kelley Armstrong, so of course,I loved this book. I have enjoyed all of her books and all the books in this series. If you have not read the previous Rockton books, read them before you read this one or you probably won’t understand the story. A Stranger in Town is the sixth book of the Rockton series and I highly recommend reading these books in order due to call backs and context.

Just like the others in this series this book packs a punch. I loved the character development the longer the story goes along the more you get to know the characters backstories and their relationships. This series is fantastic and even though this is book six it is still as interesting and relevant as the first book which is hard to do the longer a series continues. The book this time surrounds Casey and Dalton as they find an injured woman in Rockton. No one knows who she is or how she got in ...more

This is the sixth book in this series, though I think that it covers off enough of the backstory that it could be read as a standalone. It is a very quick book even though it’s just over 360 pages long, the action is nonstop from the moment Casey and her boyfriend Eric come across a hiker that is injured and missing her boots. They take her into Rockton for medical attention where Casey, Eric and a few other residents live. It’s a very secretive town in the wilds of Yukon where people pay big bu ...more

This is book 6 in Kelley Armstrong's series set in the Yukon. Rockton is an off the grid town set up to help people who need a new start, and either know someone who helps to get them in or they have enough money to bend the rules. Kelley Armstrong has been telling stories since before she could write. Her earliest written efforts were disastrous. If asked for a story about girls and dolls, hers would invariably feature undead girls and evil dolls, much to her teachers' dismay. All efforts to make her produce "normal" stories failed.

Today, she continues to spin tales of ghosts and demons and werewolves, while safely locked a
