The author gives us a young Amish woman, one who is bucking tradition, and has dedicated her life to training horses on her Dad’s horse farm. Then her father goes and hires another trainer to take care of their new patient, instant dislike, but living their faith they tolerate one another.
When we watch these talented and gifted people work patiently with this really wild horse, magic happens in more than one way, they begin to have mutual respect for one another, and maybe more.
Now this is the s

My heart was breaking so much for Grace and all she was going through. I wanted to give her a great big hug and at the same time, shake her a little and make her see what was waiting for her if she would just open up her eyes and heart. I get that Grace is resentful of Isaac and wants to train the horses on her own, but will she really go against her father’s wishes? THE AMISH COWBOY’S HOMECOMING is the second book in the Honey Brook series. That being said, it can easily be read as a stand alon ...more

Book 2 of the Honey Brook series features Grace. She has always been good at training horses and she grew up with her father teaching her. Now that she's grown, she wants to inherit her father's horse farm but Amish women aren't normally business owners. Her father hires Isaac, an Amish man from a nearby town to train a seemingly unable to be broken stallion. Grace wants to do it on her own and is very resentful of Isaac when her father makes them a team to train the new horse. As they work toge ...more

Isaac King took the nickname of the "Amish Cowboy". A horse whisper of sorts that prefers wearing a cowboy hat and riding his horse instead of driving a buggy. He has come to Honey Brook with his daughter Sadie for a job working at a horse farm. It is an opportunity of a life time for being a single father and starting new in a different Amish community. The Zook Farm is owned by John Zook and his daughter Grace who has her own special way of working the horses.

When Isaac King arrives, he is gre

This was a very enjoyable story, with a refreshing cast of characters. I really liked Grace and Isaac and the way they started off a bit at odds with each other since they were both wanting the lead role in training a difficult horse.

The growing friendship and romance between Isaac and Grace was very natural. It was built on respect that grew between them as they worked together. It was great to see how they were naturally drawn to each other as time passed. There were eventually some things tha

The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming by Ophelia London is the 2nd book in The Honey Brook Series. It can be read as a standalone if you have not had a chance to peruse Never An Amish Bride. I like that we get to see how Lucas Brenneman and Esther are doing since the end of Never an Amish Bride. It is great that we get to see Lucas offering guidance to Isaac. I thought The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming was well-written with good characters and a beautiful setting. I like that Grace Zook is a strong female c ...more

This was an interesting read to me, probably because it is unlike any amish novel I’ve ever read. Our wonderful heroine has a way with horses. Horses!! She trains them, which really blew my mind. It’s not often in the Amish community that you see a working woman. I really enjoyed reading about Grace’s love for all things horses. The fact that she was out there working with them was amazing to me, and inspiring!

I have to be honest, all eyes were on Isaac while reading this. He had a story to tell

The Amish Cowboy's Homecoming is the second book in the Honey Brook series. It can definitely be read as a stand alone. I had a really nice time reading this book. The story involves Isaac who has come to Grace's horse training farm to train a wild horse for a wealthy owner. Grace resents Isaac coming in to her family business, but knows she must work with Isaac to help out her family..

This was a sweet slow burn romance. I loved watching Grace and Isaac become friends and fall in love. I also lo

Such an attractive book cover.

This is the second book of Ophelia London I have read.

I enjoyed this book more because of the two main characters. Grace Zook and Isaac King.

The Amish fiction genre is one genre I am yet to get tired of reading. The simple way of life of the Amish appeals to me.

Horses are one of my favorite animals so reading about horses in this plot is a bonus point from me.

Ophelia writes well. Her language and writing style is so easy to comprehend.

I must confess, it took me a wh

The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming by Ophelia London was a delightful read with so many feels. All Grace wants is to run her father’s family horse farm. She is good at what she does, but can she prove it to him? Then he hires Isaac as the new horse trainer. All he wants is to put down roots somewhere and raise his daughter. Though they do not see eye-to-eye, they definitely share a connection. But their belief’s in what roles are in their community do not help and yet they cannot avoid what they feel ...more

This is the second book I have read by Ophelia London and The Amish Cowboy's homecoming is truly a great one. I was given an ARC by Entangled Publising, LLC through NetGalley and was not required to give a positive review.
Grace Zook is not your typical Amish Maiden. She is a very talented horse trainer and hopes to take over her father's business when he retires. The village of Honey Brook is small and quaint but seems to overlook Grace's job with her father.

THE AMISH COWBOY'S HOMECOMING BY Ophelia London

What do two Amish horse trainers have in common? One is Grace Zook, who desperately wants to take over her father's horse training farm and the other is Issac King a young widower with a small daughter Sadie, whom he wants to keep safe and raise right. They find that they have a lot of similar ideas when it comes to training a high-strung, maltreated gelding Cincinnati, nicknamed Sin for short. Sin has champion bloodlines and his owners have suddenl

Grace is a hard working woman, she loves working on the family farm with her father. Horses are what she knows and loves, and is hurt and angry when she finds out she won’t be the one to break on the new stallion! Hasn’t she proved herself by now?!

Isaac needs a stable home for his young daughter and when the opportunity arises, he takes it with both hands. What he doesn’t expect is anger and resentment from the boss’s daughter!
But they need to work together, she’s just going to have to back do

A story of overcoming grief to lead a joyful life . . .

The author has created a solid setting in the Amish community of Honey Creek. Along with an assortment of strong characters, the plot's emphasis on horse training piqued my interest. In fact, the methods of training horses used by the two main characters may have been my favorite element of the story.

Readers are led on a meandering path of past and current events which influence how the female lead, Grace Zook, and newcomer Isaac King relat

Ophelia London is such a wonderful author. I love how she creates this communities that I want to get to know. The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming is the second book in the Honey Brook series, and it was just as wonderful as the first book! Each book can be read as a stand alone, but they are both wonderful!

Grace Zook has spent her lifetime working with and training horses on their farm. This is not the traditional work of an Amish woman, yet she has become a master trainer.

Grace’s father hires widower, Issac, to help his daughter train a very unruly horse to become a champion jumper. Obviously, Grace is very upset to have someone infringe on her territory of training, but is able to come to terms of having to work with Issac.

There are many twists and turns to this book. It is very predictable alo

This is the first book I've read by Ophelia London and it won't be the last. Grace is a non-traditional Amish woman. But instead of this making her an outcast, she is treasured and loved by her family. But would she ever find love with someone who would do the same and not try to change her?

A heartwarming, 100% clean book. I started this on a Thursday afternoon and finished it Friday. I liked how strong and faithful Grace was. The book showed her relationship with God (and Isaac's too) without i

Ophelia London has outdone herself in The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming. I couldn't put this book down once I started.

We meet Grace, a non-traditional Amish woman who is a horse trainer on her family’s horse farm , and Isaac, a widower coming to Grace’s farm to take the lead trainer position on a very stubborn horse. I loved that Grace is allowed to be herself by her family and the community. Many times you see characters in a traditional role, but I loved how she was a strong-willed, talanted woma

Not sure why I put off reading this one, but it was a wonderful light reading storyline. Relaxing, enjoying, and made me feel there is love, hope, and promise in the world. No cussing, evil or negativity just a wholesome book. Recommend if you just want to relax, slow down, and feel good about life again.
