The same musician/writer also does a banjo for Dummies book, which used to be the type of books I'd avoid from the title alone since I found citing readers as Dummies quite insulting back when those yellow books landed on the bookshelves. But the few how-to Dummy books I've read are excellent tutorials on many different subjects. I found this book to be wonderful resource offering the most basic and essential data given to new readers/banjo players.
