~About

Juniper Thimble is a notorious thief, after the king’s golden crown. When she’s caught during her daring attempt, she is presented with a choice: die, or help to protect the king’s only son by pretending to be his lover. With dark forces at work, aiming to attack the prince, it seems Juniper has little choice but to accept the king’s gracious offer.

~Characters

I loved every minute of this book. It had it all, from drama to magic and hideous monsters, to mystery and suspense and danger, to romance. Though we don’t get to see much of the outside world, there are hints at world-building with gods for their different zodiac signs designating traits depending on which monthly god sign a person was born under, to the fear and fervor and prejudice against magic wielders who hadn’t been sent to the local hellish magic school. The mystery of who/what is huntin ...more

I loved reading this book! Juniper is the kind of heroine that I enjoy. She is feisty, smart, quick witted and very sweet. And she hides a deep dark secret that will get her killed, besides the fact that she has been caught for trying to steal the king's crown. And now the king offers her a proposition that she can not turn down, if she wants to live. A magical contract then binds her to the crown prince, as his protector from some unknown dangers that threaten his life. An exciting intriguing s ...more

I loved this book! It grabbed me from the first page. But while one issue is resolved by the end there are tons more that are not, and I have no idea how long it will be before the next book! If the whole series is out by the time you are reading this, then you should definetly check it out. Otherwise you may join me sitting on pins and needles waiting to find out what happens next!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

It's my book, so of course I'm going to rate it five stars. I'm slightly biased.
