My mind started racing. We had never really planned to live together; we hadn't planned on living apart, either. After she moved in with me, it was easier to get more involved than it was to cause a scene and split up What we had certainly wasn't the spiritual love of Shakespeare's sonnets, but it was certainly a comfort born of affection and habit The tales and vignettes ...more

The book blurb says: Little Stories takes a critical look at the inevitable moments of betrayal and loneliness in our awkward quest to love and be loved, but the reader will discover the value - and even joy - to be had by looking backward and facing the past.

Yes, these are everyday stories of love, betrayal, and the general taint of humanity, so they are very relatable … maybe too relatable for me. With each story, I was looking for the edge. I wanted to gaze into the abyss, feel the heartbrea

Little Stories: Eleven Musings on the Fragility of Life

Jeff Roberts is an author to watch. His first book, LITTLE STORIES, a compilation of works written while an undergraduate at University of Iowa, is such a rich literary experience for the reader that it seems we have a very important new voice rising in American literature. He has the ability to observe quiet events of everyday life and from them mold brief episodes of stories that seem so much a part of our own experiences that he startles

Little Stories is just that, a bunch of little stories of different people at different places in there lives. Written by the author while he attended college.

Another story “A Triptych” where a married man on a break from his wife sits on a bus next to an older farmer who misses his dead wife of 50 years. As the older gentleman talks about his history with his wife the younger man thinks of his wife. Th

Reading Little stories was like observing life through a window, almost unashamedly just watching real people, real situations, each story taking you into a different life and relationship. As you finish one story you feel almost cheated that its done, and then you move to the next and a new scenario unfolds, bringing you in.

I enjoyed this anthology of life and times.
