All he has now is blood on his hands as the collector had everything else. She wants to save the people but it would mean dealing with someone she hates and would never trust. Will she go to him for help? Will he even help? Can she save her people? See if she can

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. As I’ve said before, I always give honest reviews whether people appreciate them or not.

If you haven’t read the first story of this series yet, go read it first!

This story begins with Calen, the unicorn we met in the first book, Dark Unicorn. He’s underneath a completely destructed castle of the Collector. He and Wren fought him and made everything go kablooey. I’m pretty sure that’s a technical term

Wren felt she had lost everything. She had actually found the Heart of Spellshallow, but it had been depleted of its magic. It now was nothing more than a trinket. She had failed. And her unicorn, Calen, was lost as well. He had died during their battle with the powerful mage named the Collector. She had lost everything...so she was trying to return to her kingdom to suffer whatever the fates may determine. She and her troupe had a great distance to travel, constantly having to avoid the Collect ...more

This is the second book in the Horn Sworn series. It follows on almost immediately after the first book (which you will need to have read for this one to make sense) and we see the characters continue their quest to rescue the source of magic and save Wren's kingdom. There are a lot of twists and turns in this story, and we find out a lot more about Calen and his family too, which is good. It's a very enjoyable read, though there are a few things that seem like incomplete story strands (hopefull ...more

This story begins right after book 1's great battle as Wren is "saved" of course things do not go as planned for the king helping her this time. Then team Wren get back together and are off on another adventure that is book 2. I loved it. It was full of action, snark, and a bit of suspense as Wren and Calen try to save the day, again. The story was a fast read and before I knew it I was a the end. It made me laugh and enjoy seeing everyone survive and get embroiled in another adventure. But I di ...more

Cruel King: Sequel to Dark Unicorn

Sorry, this sequel of the story did not seem as well thought out. It was kind of predictable except for the manner of defeat (not going to spoil it for others who have not read this book yet). It leads to yet another book where hopefully, they heroes can defeat the Collector but it's a cliffhanger so we wait for another book. It may be just me but I like a book that is complete so that when it is finished, its finished. The author did an great job creating the w

Cruel King (Horn Sworn Book 2) by Taylor Haiden is such an amazing story to read. This is book number two in this amazing series and I can not wait to see what this author writes about next. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fanatasy and paranormal romances.

Cruel King book 2 is easily 4.8 stars!

If each book in this series improves as much as this one, we'll be fighting over every one. The characters have more dimension and so do all the worlds. Try not to wait to start the series; you'll want to be ready for each book. Enjoy!

Continues nicely after the first book. But, once again we must wait for the story to continue.

This was a wonderful book. It didn't seem rushed. This was sweet and steamy, full of romance and passion with great characters that were interesting enough to draw you in.
