The Darkness and Dogs

Ten years after a virus has decimated the population of earth, and turned all domesticated dogs against humanity, Lowell walks alone through the decaying ruins of civilization – and the beautiful, haunting splendour of a natural and reborn primal world. Hunted, painfully alone, and plagued by both his own cowardice, and memories of his former life, Lowell embarks on a journey that will either destroy him, or offer him redemption.

Densely written dullness

The author took the advice "show don't tell" and went too far with it. It follows the action of the main character too closely, so that the book is very dull. An interesting post apocalyptic world, a thoughtful book, but just a painful read.

As a dog lover it was hard reading at first but was a good read. As much as the government screws with disease it wouldn't be surprised by something like this happening. Venus. Did give me hope that there is always hope

Beautiful book.

This is one of the most moving books I have read. This poignant tale of a man in dreadful circumstances who towards his end has this beautiful companionship with an endearing dog.
