Now halfway through her globetrotting around-the-world trip, Patricia Fisher is feeling relaxed and happy on the arm of Captain Alistair Huntley. The peace is soon interrupted, though, when another calling card is found. They have been turning up for weeks, proof that someone has been breaking into the upper deck suites, but nothing has been stolen, and no crime appears to have been committed.

There’s more going on, though. The Aurelia is playing host to a live television event as India’s biggest ever show Stars That Dance come on board for the journey from Chennai to Mumbai.

There’s a real party atmosphere, until the first body is found. It’s one of the dancers, and there’s yet another calling card impaled on the knife through her chest. In a true whodunnit style, Patricia is going to have to solve the crime, catch the killer, and work out how the calling cards are connected.

It’s just another day on board the Aurelia .

Let's start this off with an invitation to get some FREE books. No, you didn't read that wrong, we are talking about multiple free books. I love giving away free books because once people delve into the fast-paced mystery thrills I write, they go on to buy lots more.

All I need from you is an email address to send them to. Here's the link you need - https://mailchi.mp/fd47a6eb4ae5/patri...

When I wrote my first novel, Paranormal Nonsense, I was a Captain in the British Army. I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.

At school, I was mostly disinterested in every subject except creative writing, for which, at age ten, I won my first award. However, calling it my first award suggests that there have been more, which there have not. Accolades may come but, in the meantime, I am having a ball writing mystery stories and crime thrillers and will claim to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in my head as they clamor to get out.

Now retired from the military, I live in the south-east corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, I doubt I will ever leave, the beer is just too good.

This story was a little more enjoyable then the last one. Again, I find these stories drag on a bit too long towards the end, but still fun to read.

Murder on the Dance Floor: Patricia Fisher Mysteries (A Humorous Cruise Ship Cozy Mystery Book 6), my ninth read/listen from author Steve Higgs and the sixth in this highly entertaining series. I'm going to have to go backward & catch up as I'm reading books out of order because it's what I have. Well-written & enjoyable. Helena Little’s narration adds to an enjoyable book's listening enjoyment. I look forward to reading more in this series & more from this author. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Not as outrageous as the earlier books in the series, but still fun.

An Indian version of Dancing with the Stars is onboard the Aurelia and the dancers are dropping like flies.

Also onboard is someone who is entering the suites and leaving a calling card, but nothing appears to be stolen. Patricia is the first to notice a small imprint on the carpet and a line of dust on each of the cabins entered.

Excellent again

My grumpy old self didn’t want to enjoy the Patricia Fisher series as much as the Blue Moon set. I am definitely hooked. Mr. Higgs is a talented, imaginative author who creates lovable characters. I’m so glad to have discovered him. His entertainment has been life saving during this pandemic.

This book features the Indian version of Strictly Come Dancing which is being filmed on board the Aurelia. The stars and their partners were picked up at Chenai and would depart the ship again a few days later at Mumbai but in the meantime they would have filmed that weeks edition of the show. Only problem was, a body found in one of the ladies toilets. At the same time the ship has had reports of break-ins to various cabins where nothing has been stolen but a card has been left.
Patricia and Alistair have an informal competition to see who can solve the murder first - Patricia teaming up with Barbie and Jermaine as usual but also the two Hawaiian cops she enjoyed her Tokyo escapade with and Mr. Baker from the ships security team. The Captain is joined by a retired Indian police detective as well as the rest of his security team and the new assistant Captain.
Unfortunately death strikes again, and then again while someone tries to kill Patricia out on the upper deck, but she is saved by her little dog Anna.
Finally Patricia and her team put everything together, prove that the person arrested for the murders is innocent while unmasking the real killer. They also discover what the burglaries have been about and, even better, who was responsible thus finally putting an end to a decades long career of an extremely successful art thief.
An extremely enjoyable romp, and anyone who has been forced into wearing a ball gown and very high heels (especially if they are unused to wearing either as is the case with Patricia) will have lots of sympathy for her endeavours while wearing highly unsuitable clothing. An excellent book, and I can't wait for Patricia's (and friends) next adventure in India.

MYSTERIES AND DEATH CAN WALK HAND IN HAND

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

Patricia Fisher, a woman on a trip around the world while having an affair with the ship’s captain ensconces herself with a mystery of break-ins where nothing is seemed to be stolen. Soon after a murder is committed, then another and finally an attempt on Patricia.

The thought processes of Patricia in finding the criminal is simple, yet still keeps the reader involved until the mystery or mysteries are solved.

The narrator did a wonderful job in being the voice of so many different people, although some of them seemed to bleed into each other.

I'm really starting to like this series more and more. This one is set during a Bollywood reality show similar to Dancing with the Stars. Patricia with her usual flair finds the culprit and brings them to justice. But we have a lot of fun getting there. Much more than the previous book where some of our friends were infected with an Ebola clone and could have died. And the romance with the Captain continues. Recommended.

Awesome

Another great read. . . Once again , I didn't get the one killer right. Totally misses it. And again, I didn't catch on to the art thief even though that I think about it, he was in another book saying no one would figure it out. Mr. Highs really does have a talent to entwine the characters & plots. It is not just one plot, usually 2 to 3. It is awesome. If you haven't any of his books, get cracking!.

Hijinks galore!
Another brilliant Patricia Fisher mystery! The team face off with dancing film stars, a television sleuth and strange calling cards. Who could be behind the latest string of mysteries? Well rounded characters, never-ending twists and turns and a bit of glitz and glamour to boot! The narrator does a great job at bringing the cast to life!

Patricia is still on the cruise ship - and they are hosting an Indian episode of Strictly Come Dancing when one of the cast is murdered. After some investigation and a few red herrings they solve the mystery. The writing style in these stories is improving and the writer appears to be getting into his style and form. Good read!

For the most part I enjoyed this book. I thought Patty was a tad out of character, though. Since I can not go cruising right now, reading a series about a cruise ship is the next best thing.....for now.
I did like how Anna the dog played an important part in this story.

This series is just So Much Fun. You never know what Patricia and her friends will get up to next, but it always includes a really good mystery and lots of laughter. The characters are strongly written so you feel you know them too. And the location on The Aurelia couldn’t be finer.

Fun reading

This is a fun, light read, perfect for a cruise or beach lounging. The story is funny and interesting. Only complaint is too much focus on the attributes of the gym instructor. You can tell the story is written by a man.

Murder on the Dance Floor

The murders in this book were very into and the stealing of the paintings. Mrs. Fisher really keeps you guessing how and why they happen. I look forward to see how she solves the next one.

Remind me, never go on a cruise with Pat Fisher as a guest, I doubt I'd survive. For a moment I thought Anna was a goner. A fun read.
