First off I received a free advanced copy of the book to read and give an honest review.
It was very confusing but so interesting I read it from start to finish.
In this book characters take a backseat to the subject which is dreaming and if you can control your dreams and turn them into reality.
Peter and his sister Aisha are the main characters and they are brother and sister. Hannah is a friend of the family who plays an important part. Peter & Aisha’s mother is in a coma in the hospital and ...more

I received an ARC of this book a while ago and thought it was good enough to share my opinions here.
The book was a wonderful page-turner. I have to admit there were places at the start I was ready to put it down, but each time it sucked me back in before I did. So stick with it and you'll be rewarded.
Peter's story is admittedly convoluted, but not so much that it's too difficult to follow. The main antagonist, who is essentially a twisted version of "the sandman" was amazing every time he was ...more

He's no Stephen King, but he tries
First off, it's important to remember Mr Sharpe is not a native English speaker, and neither are his editors or proofreaders. Because of that, I did give an extra star. BUT! Don't let that alone dissuade you. The story itself is genuinely good.
You get curious to see what happens next.
You sort of wish it were longer, though I can't see how.
There's no linguistic fluff (unnecessary words), just the occasional linguistic kerfuffle. Now, on to the story.
Fascinating

“A dream is no reality. Reality is only a dream.”
How do you find someone who everyone claims doesn’t exist?
Peter’s mother is in a coma and his father is unable to cope. Because of this he droped out of school and started working to take care of his little sister.
One day he picks her up from school and someone starts chasing them, and their pursuer is not from this world. When her sister disappears he starts to notice that things are wrong, no one seems to remember her. Will he be able to save h ...more

Syndrome - J. Sharpe
@booksinthebath_reviews41 received an instagram message from J. Sharpe and was asked if she could review the book so we decided to do a buddy read with this one.
This book is a quick read and the storyline is very different from other books I have read.
At first I was very confused as to why Peter, the main character, kept waking up in different scenarios such as being a 7 year old boy and then being a 21 year old ag ...more

This book kept me on the edge of my seat! It's a real page-turner and you just don't know where you will end up after every chapter! Sometimes, I got very confused about what was reality and what was a dream. But maybe everything was a dream! I'm still not sure... The ending left you wanting more because there was so much that was unsolved and unexplained but that was also the writer's intention. It was intriguing and kept me up at night.

This is going to sound bad, but I promise it's not. This was the WORST book to start reading at 1 am. Not only could I not stop reading, but it's also a thriller/ HORROR book. A genre that I never even touch, especially before trying to fall sleep!
To be honest, I didn't even know it was horror until I got to a particular scene where it was very graphic and a little disturbing. Luckily, these sections were so brief, that if I genuinely felt uncomfortable, I could quickly read the next paragraph a ...more
