I received a copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via the author.

This is a fantastic start to a new fae series! Byrd Nash builds an intriguing and captivating fantasy world where fae and humans live together at a college setting. The writing style in parts reminds me of Neil Gaiman and I found this book a fun read. Throughout the book there are small twists which keep the story interesting and keeps you wanting to read more.
I loved the descriptions of all the monsters and

Never Date a Siren was an easy and fun read. Nash was able to build a world of her own including typical and untypical fantasy creatures, along with unusual powers and traits. I enjoyed how unexpected information was sprinkled here and there to throw twists into the story. The characters were bold and direct; my favorite was the fiesty MC. Although the world building and scene setting were good, I had issues with the writing when it became over descriptive (but this is a huge pet peeve of mine a ...more

I really enjoyed this take on fae human relationships in the context of a university setting. Logan a bard and human is beguiled by Sybil a Siren attending the same university in a land Bewachterberg that's been hidden to the world for 99 years and a day. Brigit Cullen a dryad finds herself in need of new lodgings and stumbles across Logan and his apartment. After moving in under the cover of fae magic Brigit discovers Logan is dying from his encounter with Sybil. A chance run in at a local bar ...more

The first in the College Fae series, Never Date a Siren is an engaging and clever read that stirs the imagination. Set in Leopold Otto Universtity in Brachtenberg, college student Logan meets the mysterious Brigit, not realising she’s a dryad princess fighting to release him from a siren who has Beguiled him. Brigit is a stickler for fae law and through her wit, determination and generous heart, navigates her way through the sticky situation of Logan’s problem.

As a fan of Nash's previous work, the Wicked Wolves of Windsor, I knew I was in good hands with this YA fantasy offering. Nash has a wonderful way of weaving old myths and fairytales into modern stories and Book One of this new series is no exception. She excels in world-building and creating a vibrant reality for her characters. I loved the small touches - characters that have flaws and quirks like all of us. Her main character, Brigit, is capable and confident - maybe even a bit too confident ...more

I give Never Date a Siren: A College Fae magic series #1 by Byrd Nash, 5 stars!

This book was absolutely amazing! This is my favorite genre, but it went above and beyond what I was expecting. It is fun, exciting and suspenseful all wrapped into one. The characters have huge personalities and I can't say I've read a book where the main character is a dryad. I like how the author incorporates creatures we do not normally see in supernatural books. Not only that, she quickly explains what they are t

An engaging, imaginative YA novel recommended for readers who like supernatural and fairy tale lore with humor in a contemporary setting.

The first book in the College Fae series, Never Date a Siren introduces a group of unique and relatable characters in the fully realized magical world of Bewachterberg where humans and fae interact.

The story features Brigit, the dryad princess and Logan, an American student. They come together to take on a challenge and discover who they are along the way. Add

Never Date a Siren is delightful and witty book by master of the modern fairy tale Byrd Nash.
The ancient world of the fae gets a modern University setting reminiscent of the clash of creatures in Harry Potter. A talking format is a true gem, as is the snarky Jib, a talking black cat. When a human falls prey to a selfish siren , it is up to a clever fae to break the spell. Nash is a master of revenge, having read the author's previous work, The Wicked Wolves of Windsor (read this book!) and reven

A Fun, Magical Story

A fun, magical story -- plus wonderful spinoff from Granny Starseed -- that will leave readers hooked from the start. Trust me, once you fall into this world of faes and gods and humans, you will be sad to see it end and be left wondering how the characters don't exist. I will definitely be waiting for the sequel. I must know what university life brings next for Brigit and Logan and their friends.

What a great start to a new fae series! I definitely was drawn to this book initially because of the beautiful cover, and I’m glad I picked this one up. I love how Nash took old folklore and fairytales and intertwined them into a modern setting. The story takes place at Leopold Otto University in mysterious Bewachterberg. Humans and fae are both invited to attend. The main character Brigit is a dryad, and Logan is an American student. Logan has been beguiled by a Siren, and Brigit becomes indebt ...more

I received a complementary copy of this book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.

This book is a fresh take on the faerie world and it is so inviting. It starts off like a small snowball, and once it gets rolling, it’s packs quite the literary punch! I’m a stickler for world building. Byrd Nash cleverly builds and explains her world through Brigit’s tutoring of Logan on Fae rules. Speaking of Brigit, can I just say that she is awesome. That is one dryad I would want in my corner. She is u

I really liked Brigit as a character. She has spirit and I look forward to seeing more of her in the sequel. The world building is amazing; not too complex but intricate enough to get you hooked into the story. My only suggestion would be to put the glossary at the front as I would have found it easier to follow the story if I had known it was there.

Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building.

Never Date a Siren: A College Fae Magic Series #1 definitely earned 5 stars from me.

I need to start off by saying that I had never read an eBook successfully in my life (and this is coming from an avid reader). I have DNF’d books just because they were eBooks. I decided to give Never Date a Siren a try as an eBook and I swear that Byrd Nash has her own magical abilities that made me over come this obstacle.

For the actual book, it was undoubtably a breath of fresh air. Sure, it’s nice to read bo

I must admit that it took me some time to get into the book. I was not sucked into it from the beginning. I was kind of confused by the terms that were used and I kind of felt like I was missing information somewhere. I decided to ignore this feeling and get back into reading it until I'd finish it. And I must say it became so much better! I started to enjoy it and I was eager to find the answers that I had. It took me along its journey, and I could not put it down anymore.

We begin with Bridget’s freshman year. College... What would be taught in a college with a mixed student body of Human and Fae? More importantly, how would everyone get along? How does one maneuver through the ins and outs of the fae septs, bondmates, laws of civility and debts of honor amongst these humans who have absolutely no clue? Bridget, for whatever reason, is a stickler about all of this Fae stuff. She hugs trees, touches flowers and talks to plants and welcome mats. She also needs to f ...more

Never Date a Siren (College Fae Book 1)
By Byrd Nash
5 out of 5 stars

The story Never Date a Siren (College Fae Book 1) by Byrd Nash is a fantasy book that I loved reading. It tells the tale of Logan Dannon and Brigit. Logan is a college student who finds out the hard way about the mythical creatures that attend the same college as he does. He finds himself having to navigate the fae’s code of honor to survive. Brigit is a fae. She finds herself with Logan, a human roommate in which she has been p

I have never had the pleasure of reading anything penned by Bryd Nash prior to picking up this book, Never Date a Siren, so I had no idea what I was getting myself into other than what I learned from the eye catching cover. I am glad that I took a gamble and dove right in. I think we have a new series that I can’t wait to read as it unfolds.

Never Date a Siren is the first book in the College Fae series so a great place to start obviously. This book sets us up for the series and gives us a bunch

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was the first one I have read by this author. Now I will be reading all of her books, both past and future ones.

This is a story about Fae living side-by-side with humans. Specifically, it takes place at Leopold Otto University, Bewachterberg. The college allows Fae to attend under the provisions of a treaty. Everyone is supposed to mind their p's and q's. However, inevitably, trouble breaks out.

A human student, Logan, has been beguiled by a Siren, named Sybil.

Unique fair-minded fae story set in college

I loved this first book in the 4-book series and cannot wait for the sequel! When Brigit enrolls in a university in the human lands in a town that has been hidden for a hundred years, she soon finds herself homeless. When her new chosen roommate Logan turns out to be Beguiled by a heartless siren and saves Brigit from losing her mind, her sense of fairness and the Debt of Gratitude make her the siren’s arch-enemy. Attending collage your first year is exciting! Unless you fall victim to a sirens love spell.

Being new to reading fantasy books, I loved this! Gave it 4 stars. It was such a fun and easy read.

Never Date a Siren (College Fae Book 1) by Byrd Nash

Never Date a Siren (College Fae Book 1) by Byrd Nash was an exciting first addition to this series. Logan is placed under a Siren’s spell at the start of his freshman year of college. Brigit is also a freshman who is needing a new place to stay and happens to find that Logan has a spare room. The two become mixed up in a mess and she is set on freeing him from the Siren’s spell. I have always had a niche for books about the Fae and especially when it has them mixing in with our modern reality, and 'Never Date A Siren' Was no exception. I absolutely adored this, and especially the twist when it came to Logan, I about died of excitement. I love Brigit and all the detail that Byrd Nash puts in of all the different septs of the Fae. I loved this book. Full of magic, spells and mystical creatures.

Brigit, is looking for an off-campus room to rent, but finds herself getting a human roommate, in his home. Yup, she thinks she has got her tracks covered. But her actions have a price.
Her roommate Logan is under a siren’s love spell and he's not well. In fact, the only thing that can save him might be right under his nose.

Fast-paced and entertaining, I cannot wait for part 2!

I was a beta reader for this fun YA book and I loved reading each chapter!

This fae fantasy adventure novel has some amazingly quirky characters such as Brigit a Dryad princess, wrestler Granite and the loveable Jib the Puca.

Brigit enrolls in Leopold University to escape her controlling father but ends up incurring a dept to human Logan who could die without her help.
This fast paced, endearing novel will keep you entertained to the very last page!

Well now this was different and fun. A story for those who love magical beings living among humans and the things that could go wrong. Boy can I assure you things go wrong, and how could they not with college-aged students who are still too young to understand how the world works. I suggest reading Granny Starseed from Wicked Wolves of Windsor first as one of the main characters is Logan.

Byrd loves creating fresh stories with unexpected twists. Using archetypes from traditional folklore and myths, she weaves new tales with a distinctive flavor.

Her characters drive her stories, whether they are an American college student with a dryad roommate, a Doppleganger working at a European university, or a fairytale Red Riding Hood escaping a post-WWI wolf pack.
