I could not go past that blurb. From the minute I read that I have been wanting to read more. Friends to lovers with a porn twist.
And the book lived up to everything I was hoping for and gave a little bit more. I spent the whole time waiting in anticipation for them to find out what the secret was. My mind was whizzing around wondering how Rachel would guess. Would it be a bedspread or a random comment, an accidental walk in or any one of the dozen other things I was expecting.
Seriously Flynn is every girls wet dream in print. And I have to wonder what content on the internet I am missing because I have not stumbled across any Flynn's. He was the complete package (Yeah, I did) and I was a little frustrated that Rachel thought he might not be enough until his secret alter ego was revealed.
Rachel didn't really do it for me, but then I was so invested in Flynn she was almost irrelevant. I didn't not like her; I just didn't really care for her. I know where she was coming from, but it felt like she was being too picky and overlooking the most important things.
Although once they got together it was so hot. And I am probably just a little salty she was so self-absorbed she did not jump him when he was half naked and dripping wet. Oh well hubby will be benefiting from that scene later. Toodles

When I read the summary, I expected something really sexy, and it didn’t deliver completely. Don’t get me wrong, it was sexy. But the reason why Rachel and Flynn can’t admit their feelings for each other is that they are allegedly some kind of perverts. And though their intimate scenes weren’t vanilla, it wasn’t over the top either.
It was still a pleasant erotic romance. The male self-loving scenes were hot! The romance was kind of cute, especially the big revelation. And the big final was original, to say the least.
It wouldn’t pass the Bechdel test. Chance and Aubrey are the link between this book and the Cocky Hero Club, and though Aubrey and Rachel talk a lot, it’s always about a guy. Even Flynn’s mother can’t help and speak about her dead husband. And that’s basically the only female characters. Of course, it’s a romance novel, I wasn’t expecting some philosophical debate, but friendly conversations about… stuff would have given more depth to all the characters.
There was a little suspense element, with an unknown stalker. It brings a bit of danger, and is the catalyst for a heated argument. I enjoyed the small twist, though the aftermath deserved a more thorough treatment.
A quick and sexy read, and what you’re looking for if you don’t expect much more.

EDIT: I listened to the audiobook, and it was everything I expected. Both narrators were perfect for the characters and made me enjoy this book even more.

From the day Rachel moved next door to Flynn, they have been the best of friends, however, neither really knew the other. Well, that’s not exactly true, but there were parts or aspects of each other’s personality that they did not share with each other which is how we get this pretty awesome story of friends that become more! And the best part is that I found this story holy bananas swoony! Like, yes, it’s deliciously sexy in all the right ways, because look who wrote it, but more than that, it is a #swoonfest of epic proportions. #TRUST
I am a little bit sad/disappointed that it took almost 60% of the book before Rachel and Flynn had their AH HA! moment, but only because it was right there in front of their noses!!! That made for a very frustrated reader LOL But I’ve read enough Gwyn books to know that she’d deliver when the time came to deliver, and holy flames of fire did she deliver!! *fans self*

He thinks she's a good girl looking for someone charming and gentlemanly. She thinks he's a good Catholic, mama's boy. But, as the age-old adage goes, you can't judge a book by its cover!

This was a really great, fun, super sexy read! The beginning was a slow build as we learn about about Flynn and Rachel's priceless friendship and Flynn's unrequited love for Rachel. However, once things got interesting between them, I loved the moment when their secrets were outed. The intimate scenes between them were really freakin' hot! *fans self* They already had the best of platonic relationships, but add the heat between them and they were scorching together! Both Flynn and Rachel were good-hearted, likeable characters and I was rooting for them all the way, especially Flynn. He was the full package - in all ways! LOL.

Rachel and Flynn have been the best of friends for over 6 years. They don't have secrets except for one. The real reason why Rachel's relationships never work, she likes the nice guys but she needs dirty talk in bed and so far the nice guys have been boring.
However when she finds a site with a naughty talking man with a big package she reaches out to him. Asking him how she can find a man like him. They strike up a friendship online.
She can't tell Flynn, with his catholic upbringing he just wouldn't understand. Flynn has his own secrets though. Like that he has been in love with Rachel from almost the moment he met her. Or the threats he has been getting.
I loved how they finally got together and was pretty epic. They do have some fights that rock both of them but their friendship ultimately carries them through to revealing how they feel.
A fun quick read of turning friends into lovers, speaking your truth and owning your sexuality and needs.

Friends to lovers. Great story. They're very unsure about the other finding out about their hidden desires. They think they know everything about each other. They are about to find out that they do not. There is a little suspense mixed in there too.

This was an ok read, but it left me really frustrated half the time. For starters, Flynn's side job was interesting, but I hated how he wanted to keep doing it when AFTER he got Rachel. The back and forth between them was way too much - it would be one step forward, three steps back. Flynn would always snap at Rachel whenever he was overwhelmed/stress, which in his mind just proved how wrong he was for her (which I agree with) but he was afraid to move forward because he didn't want to ruin their friendship.. which I guess is honorable, but I just wanted him to grab her and just to after what he wants.
Rachel was likeable enough, but I felt like she was a one dimensional character. She's had feelings for Flynn for a while, and is definitely attracted to him, but feels because of his religious background, he's too tame for her (because she likes serious kink in the bedroom.) Like I said above, their back and forth was just too much for me, and took away from their connection.
Plus the sexy times just felt repetitive to me after a while. For two people who loved the real dirty stuff, this just felt pretty tame..
This wasn't a bad book per say, if just wasn't for me.

3.5 Stars! A saucy, or should I say filthy read!
Rachel - unlucky in love, she always has her best friend Flynn's shoulder to cry on. She's had a crush on him for years, but never thought more of it as he's too much of a sweet guy for her. He'd never want to do the kinky things she enjoys in the bedroom. Or would he? Instead she gets off watching someone called HRD4U, the stranger with a body for sin and dirty mouth to match.
Flynn - on the outside he's a good Catholic momma's boy, however he's hiding a saucy secret! While he works as a stockbroker by day, he's HRD4U at night - his site where he performs steamy solos for paying customers online. At first this was simply to earn extra money after the market crashed, now it's as a release for his increasing sexual attraction for best friend Rachel. The woman he can't have, as he thinks she wants a good guy, not someone with a seedy secret. What happens when she finds out his secret? And who is his stalker?
I thought this book was great to start, when the leads still hadn't figured out they were talking to each other. But towards the end there was a bit too much back and forth and arguing over daft things a lot.
Although this book definitely deliveries on the steaminess! You'll have to fan yourself after some of the scenes, damn these two can talk dirty to each other!
Well worth a read. I'll be keen to read more Gwyn McNamee!

Flynn is a steady man, loves his mom, goes to church, and is a money manager. You know the perfect clean cut, stable, good guy. But Flynn has a secret, he has a second job, one he had to pick up when the market crashed. He's HRD4U, an internet webcam entertainer and he has quite the fanbase.
Rachel, is the good girl, teacher, always dates the good guys. But she has a secret too. She just wants a man that will fulfill all her dirty talking, rough desires. Does a man like that even exist? Yes, he does, she has discovered an internet site for HRD4U...he is just what Rachel needs to get off… the train of bad relationships. (see what I did there)
Rachel and Flynn hide so much from each other and waste so much time with their secrets. Both are exactly what they need, but because they don’t really talk, they may never find out that their perfect other half is right in front of them.
Throw in some trouble for Flynn, and we got ourselves a story folks! The story was one that kept me reading and I was SOOO ready for the truth to come out and for Flynn and Rachel to get "filthy." However, this is a slow burn romance and we will have to watch and wait for Rachel and Flynn to figure things out and they do have to work hard to get filthy.
I enjoyed the story, the secondary characters, and the happy ever after! A great read with my recommendation.

He loves her so much he would rather just have her friendship than risk losing her completely by crossing the line so he is always there as friend and when needed he will always pick up the pieces for the girl he adores. Innerconnected Series Are My Jam
My first Hero Club Book was Stacey Marie Brown's Smug Bastard, whose best friend is Chance also in this book. Chance and wife Aubrey are neighbors of Rachel and Flynn who are BFFs who have hid their love for each other for five years. Flynn is a mama's boy who goes to church on Sunday and eats lunch with her afterwards. But at night he is a web cam operator as HRD4U .
Those who loved Sara Cate's Salacious Players Club EYES on Me Garrett and Mia will love this couple. Spice is 🌶🌶 and Flynn is the best dirty talker.
Would have liked a little more spice , and it was a little predictable, but a great introduction to Jameson and Bash Rachel's Brothers. I will definitely continue this series.

Umm, wow, it takes a lot to make me blush and this story had me blushing from page one! Gwyn McNamee has written a STEAMY story. But this is not a dark story, in fact it’s almost sweet. I mean as sweet as best friends realizing that they actually love each other while wanting to get filthy wherever they can 😉.
Gwyn took the friends to lovers trope and definitely made it her own. I was sucked into this story and couldn’t put it down until I finished it. There were definitely some times that I looked over my shoulder to make sure my kids weren’t standing there reading! But that still didn’t stop me!

This was a pretty ho hum read for me. I liked it, just not well enough to run out and download the author's collected works. I really liked the premise and it was original enough to keep me engaged. With all the promise of the blurb it just fell flat for me and I kept wishing I were reading the book it could have been.
My expectations weren't all that high to begin with, to be honest, I am in the middle of reading another series that is kind of a let down and wanted something light and fluffy to read while I enjoyed a bottle of wine in the bath tub and this seemed like it would fit the bill. My first hurdle was overcoming the repetitive internal monologues of the characters as they each lament the fact that their sexual needs are too deviant to build a relationship with the other person, over and over and over again. Except we don't. I wouldn't call what either of them expressed as their sexual desires/preferences to be particularly kinky. I actually laughed out loud when Rachel declared that she wasn't exactly vanilla. I will say that if you want a clean, sweet story you should definitely steer clear (and let's face it you probably didn't make it past the title). If you are looking for something steaming hot and kinky that will serve as inspiration in the bedroom, keep moving as well.
I was a little disappointed that Rachel continued to date various "nice" guys without ever discussing what she or they enjoyed in the bedroom. At least if she had at one point done so, and been shamed or shot down for it, there could have been a valid reason for her to avoid bringing it up again (and why she thought what she liked was somehow taboo). I also thought it was kind of a shame that Flynn avoided dating because of his love for Rachel, making for an emotionally uneven relationship since she had no such similar qualms.
I do wish the author had gone into a little more detail about how they came to be friends. I found it difficult to pin down their respective ages, and how Rachel came to move in next door to Flynn five years. I loved this Filthy Friend
Holy hotness batman! The start to this book certainly sizzled my eyeballs for sure!!! Straight up we’re into a scene where the gentleman known to his webcam audience as HRD4U has taken himself in hand to the gratification of the audience, and himself, and introduces himself to me, the reader. He’s Flynn McAllister, sometime stockbroker, supplementing his income after the market crash. We’re all along the ride my friends, oh yeah! He’s totally in love with his neighbour, Rachel, but hiding it upon pain of death.
Rachel loves watching this new porn performer whose channel she’s just found and subscribed to. If her sexy and gorgeous looking best friend had this filthy side to him, instead of being the apparent mummy’s boy that he was, then he’d be perfect! She’s pretty sure she’s in love with him, but she’s hiding it deep.
Author Gwyn McNamee set this sexy best friend to lovers Cocky Heroes book up perfectly. I loved this parody of miscommunication and misjudgement of appearances. Look closely at your best friend, and ask yourself this, ‘just how well do you know them?'
For Flynn and Rachel, they’d been friends the instant she’d moved in next door to him five years ago. They knew each other well, they thought, hell, they spent a lot of time together and loved each other’s company. Of course, they knew each other well!!! But what they were both hiding from each other was the sexy and naughty side of themselves, the part of them that liked it filthy in the bedroom, that very ‘essence’ of themselves. That essential piece that was required to be shown to the other, should one be brave enough to make the leap.
Assuming that leap was made, and the hot, filthiest and sexiest weekend of your life happened, what then? Put yourself in Rachel’s shoes, then in Flynn’s. Is it ok to make demands and dictate the way someone else will live their life? Author Gwyn McNamee puts a voice to our characters in their power struggle to combine their lives fairly, and also threw in a red herring that put Flynn, Rachel AND me on the back foot. And through it all, she did it with her classy writing and chucked some wit in there for free as well.
This was a fabulous read that included cameo roles from Chance and Aubree Bateman, and Bash Fury, Rachel’s brother. I loved seeing these characters pop up throughout the book and it kept me totally entertained. I loved this couple and the support they received from their wider family and friends. 4.5 Stars✧

A little boring
I kind of liked this book. I definitely liked the concept and the characters. The problem was the first 55% of the book was boring. A good bit of the book was the daily lives of each main character separately.
Flynn has someone trying to get back at him for something but he doesn't know who or what. This could have been a more interesting part of the story if it had been developed more.
One of the things that bugs me the most is both Flynn and Rachel are afraid of other people knowing they aren't vanilla in the bedroom. This is considerably more true for Rachel than Flynn. She thinks someone isn't going to give her what she needs in the bedroom if he is a gentleman or a mama's boy. Apparently, nice guys can't be a little wild in the sack. This is such total bs. Rachel reads romances. If you see the sheer volume of books that fall outside of vanilla, you have to realize you aren't in a minority. It only takes a quick internet search to determine that something around 60% of people go outside the "normal" range in the bedroom, which means what people think of as normal is actually the minority. As consumed by this as she was, I have to believe she would have done that research.
Now Flynn, on the other hand, goes a little beyond with actually having a site where people can pay to watch him. That's not what the average guy is doing but a lot more probably would do it if they had the tech knowledge and the body for it. I can understand why he would worry about people finding out.
The solo steamy scenes are hotter, to me, than when they finally get together.
I really feel like the writer could have done a redo of this book and made it something really great. It had such promise. This was my first book by this author but I will probably try one more book by her.

Sometimes what we want is right in front of us, we just don’t see it. “ Everything I ever wanted was right next door in the person who has been my best friend and my rock for so damn long, and I never even realized it.”

This is Friends-to-Lovers is super hot and I found it super cute. Best friends Flynn and Rachel tell each other everything, well almost. Their secrets are what keep them apart and ultimately what brings them together.
Filthy Friend is Rachel Fury’s story. She is the sister to Bash Fury who you may already have read about in Dirty Player. Rachel has some secret proclivities that she keeps hidden away from the world, even her best friend. It’s too bad her HOT neighbor is such a mama’s boy, otherwise, he would be exactly what she is looking for.
Flynn McAllister feels the same. His HOT neighbor is too good for the likes of him. Best he keep his desire hidden, but HOW, he is not certain. Just being in Rachel’s vicinity wakes up his impressive package, which is a little hard to disguise.
I really enjoyed this steamy story. There is a lot of slow-burn but in between there is plenty to steam up the pages. Along with the steam comes a little laughter, mystery, suspense, and just a touch of angst. Gwyn McNamee always writes a good story and Filthy Friend was a very stimulating read. There is one more sibling left, and Jameson’s story may just be another scorcher when Shameless Chef hits your kindle.

If you are lucky you will discover that your soul mate was disguised as your best friend the whole time...
Flynn McAllister was harboring a love so strong for his BFF Rachel that it was slowly sucking the life out of him. He could not share his feelings with her for fear of jeopardizing their friendship. He believed she did not feel the same for him. He had so many dirty thoughts about her and what he would do to her. Rachel definitely would not be on board to be with a man with such thoughts. She was a goddess, so kind and caring. She deserved more than what Flynn had to offer.
Rachel had relationships with men that did not give her the zing that she required, especially in the bedroom. She was not a vanilla girl. She had fantasies that no man had ever fulfilled for her. She wanted, messy and sizzling hot relationships. Thank goodness she had her BFF Flynn to run to when all her relationships went belly up.

'Filthy Friend' is just that FILTHY and I do mean FILTHY all in capitals! Gwyn McNamee, you have produced one hell of a hot dirty story that I just LOVED! From the opening pages, my blood pressure soared then you took it down a step only to build it back up again and you still managed to produce a 💯 great story to go with all that hotness! I was particularly impressed with the scene in which Flynn better know on his webcam as HRD4U went to confession and managed to convince himself and the Preist using the bible to justify what he was doing wasn't wrong! 'High Five' right there.
But underneath all that there is a really nice story of two best friends each believing something different about the other, Rachel thinking that Flynn is a bit of a mommy's boy and a good catholic boy and Flynn thinking Rachel is wanting a nice man to settle down - both being further from the truth! but as they navigate their feelings for each Flynn has managed to get himself a stalker one that is getting more dangerous but even with that going on it doesn't take anything away from this really hot must-read book!
Well done Cocky Hero's another great addition to the family

This is the latest release from the Hero Club series and it is an entertaining read. Flynn is a good boy for all accounts and purposes but he has a wild side that he keeps hidden from everyone. Rachel is Flynn’s best friend and she is a kindergarten teacher who is looking for love in all the wrong places. Flynn is to Rachel what jelly is to peanut butter. They are always there for the other in that ride or die kind of way. Their attraction is off the charts but neither one is willing to risk the friendship that they have built. Adding insult to injury, each one is keeping a secret from the other that has the potential to derail it all. Can these two weather any storm? I have read other books by this author and this one is not my favorite. It has a lot of steam and the writing style flows well but there was just something about these two characters that, at times, I kept feeling a disconnect. This is a very slow burn with mega drama to keep a reader turning the page.

Flynn and Rachel have been best friends since the day she moved next door to him. Here's the rub though, both have things which are hidden from the other for whatever reason. She is obsessed with a filthy dude online, while he has an interesting side hustle, and it made me laugh hard before things took a sexy turn. It wasn't an immediate thing, it took some time because they didn't want to mess with the friendship, but Flynn has all kinds of secret love for her. As the things that were hidden from the other were revealed, the fun began, and it got hot in here. I've said it before & I'll say it again, but friends to lovers aren't always my jam when it takes too long or one of the friends really upset me with their actions but that didn't happen here. I cheered for these two cover to cover as Gwyn McNamee penned the perfect friends to lovers story, and I couldn't get enough! Everyone needs a filthy friend in their lives, and everyone needs Filthy Friend in their lives so you know what to do! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I feel struggling and have a conflicted feeling about this book because the book is so filthy... actually too much filthy for my liking. Of course, what Flynn does is sooooo HOT and believe me, I have nothing against someone who is into a public sex but Flynn seems to be obsessive about it. His excuse to do it because he can't have Rachel is acceptable at first but after they finally end up together, he still wants to do it which I feel like it is too much. Plus I am so frustrated with both Flynn and Rachel because they are afraid to confess their feeling for each other. Well, they are best friends so their relationship doesn't that fragile. And I kind of understand how Rachel feel after she find out about Flynn's secret. So with the story that keeps making me feel frustrating and uncomfortable, even if their relationship and chemistry are like couple goals, I decide to give it 3.5 stars.

First off January was a month full of trying new things so that's why I thought I'd give a sweet romance novel a try as opposed to always reading books on the darker side. I also read my first historical romance novel but that's beside the point (I blame Bridgerton for that 😉)
The first thing that intrigued me was not the cover but the plot.
It's a friends to lovers novel where she thinks he's a prude church boy and he thinks she's vanilla in bed so they never pursue anything with one another.
But the funny thing is that they both have the same preferences in bed as we learn more about them.
He's not that innocent. He has a Webcam business and she's definitely not into vanilla.
And it's through that Webcam job that they finally realize they were perfect for one another all the time.
This book is packed with humor and heat but it's also slow burn. So if you are into that I'd say definitely give it a try it's a really good read.

Rachel appears to be the prim and proper school teacher, but underneath she has a wild side that her past relationships haven’t allowed her to explore. Her best friend and neighbor Flynn is always there for her after each breakup and has even tried to set her up with a friend, but it isn’t until she comes across a website that she really comes to life.
Flynn is a self professed Catholic Mama’s boy who is a conservative stockbroker by day but that is only part of the man he is. He has wanted to be more than friends with Rachel for a while and when the finally cross that line them the chemistry between them is off the charts but will the secrets he holds be something that Rachel can’t overcome?
Seeing the relationship between Flynn and Rachel evolve from friends to loves was so much fun. The heat between them radiates off the pages and even though they had a setback along the way they prove that they are the perfect partners in life and in love.

Overall, I enjoyed this book immensely. It was an original take on the best friends to lovers trope and I read it in one go as per usual lately. There is SPOILER in my review, be warned.
What I liked:
* The realism of a best friend relationship, you don't always tell your best friend everything.
* I loved the way the author brought the two mc's together in a unique way.
* I wanted to strangle both of them at times but couldn't put it down.
What I disliked:
* Didn't like the fact that Flynn didn't think Rachel had a right to her feelings about her boyfriend video masturbating to an audience. Also, that Rachel somehow agrees that she doesn't have a right. Like what the heck, that pissed me off. I wouldn't want to share my guy online without my permission and it is definitely cheating in my mind if they do it without their SO's permission.
Overall, I definitely recommend this book a read.

Best Friends to Lovers
Rachel is looking for love in all the wrong places and Flynn is always there for her as a shoulder to cry on. Flynn started a porn site HARD4U when the market tanked, to help pay his bills. He never told anyone about it. After Rachel's last breakup she found this site and subscribed to it. Not realizing it was her neighbor and best friend. It's actually funny how they find out that they're both into the same thing sexually and it almost pulls them apart after a great weekend together thanks to a stalker. It's assumed that the stalker is tied to his internet business. Where it comes from is a big surprise.
I loved that Flynn was Catholic and wrestled with his guilt over what he's doing on the side and his feelings for Rachel. I also loved how everyone in their lives around them could see that they have feelings for each other, more than just friendship, but they kept denying their true feelings.

Whew! This was a hot, melt-your-panties read with a friends to lovers theme that was angsty, but very fun and intriguing to read.
Rachel finds herself attracted to her best friend, Flynn, but has written off anything romantic happening between them because she doesn't think Flynn can handle her desires. On the other end, Flynn is afraid to confess his feelings for Rachel because he believes she deserves a nice, sweet guy, which he isn't. But just when they both realise that their assumptions about each other are false, a mystery in Flynn's life threatens their newly-found happiness.
Gwyn McNamee really turned the heat dial up in this one. I loved how the story kept me guessing and wondering what would be happening next. It's a great addition to the Fury Family series and the Cocky Hero Club series, that I totally and unreservedly recommend.
