Lovewrecked is the stand-alone enemies to lovers story I needed right now! I wanted something light, fun, sexy, with just a bit of emotion and this hit the spot.
Daisy has had a rough go of it lately. After catching her longterm boyfriend in bed with another woman, and getting laid of from her job she’s had for ten years, she’s ready to get away from life for a while. She heads to New Zealand for her sisters wedding and the timing couldn’t be better. It’s at the airport she meets the ...more

Ever since I read “The Island” many years ago, I have a weakness for stranded on an island romances! When I saw that Karina Halle had written a Rom-Com about a shipwreck and it’s four passengers... I just had to read it! I am very glad that I did!
First of all, this is a wonderful book to read during our stressful circumstances surrounding the pandemic. It is light and funny enough to take you away from extremely stressful times! Daisy and Tai meet at her sister’s wedding where Tai is the best ma ...more

Entertaining rom-com and it was so nice to see a return to the type of writing that I generally expect from this author.
I really loved the first half of the book ...lots of witty banter and it was fun to read.....a fairly lighthearted read overall... I did enjoy the whole stranded on a desert island scene...makes for a perfect summer read....a little spicey at times but nonetheless sweet.... we have two very different sisters here though and that was probably the only letdown with thi ...more

Overall Opinion: This was kind of meh. I love marooned romances and was super stoked to have a new one! It just wasn’t really what I come to expect from those that I consider “marooned romances”. There weren’t struggles or much danger to bring them closer. There were some heavy themes going on, but I felt like we never really got that deep into them and it all just seemed too easy (if that makes sense 🙈). I’m bummed it wasn’t a winner, but don’t get me wrong — I didn’t hate it either...i ...more

Meh...not impressed with this one. I suppose its one of he cases its not you its me problem.
I thought it started promising but then the moment they meet, everything went downhill for me.
I didn't understood the hostility the H had towards the h from the very first they met. He didn't get any better,at some point, because she makes a mistake that causes the shipwreck, he calls her imbecile, stupid and yells obscenities at her. I loved this book. It was EXACTLY what I needed. It's all sweetness and sunshine and feel-goodness! It's so fun and funny, light and easy! Really, you guys, the swoon, the romance, the smart, sassy dialogue, the juicy steaminess... GAH. SO. DAMN. GOOD. It's a one sitting read. An escape. And again, it is so FUN!!

ARC provided via Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.

I completely understand why Karina Halle decided to stop working on what was supposed to be her next release to start writing Lovewrecked. In these difficult times, I do believe all of us romance lovers need a happy place to get lost in and this light romantic comedy was just the solution for me. If you ever wanted to read a rom-com about getting shipwrecked and stuck on a deserted island, and NOT have to worry about anyone dying on that deserted island, Lovewrecked is your book! This was a hilarious, low angst/drama, entertaining romance that I highly recommend.

not going to write an in-depth review because most people will probably say it's not that deep (disclaimer: I'm Māori myself), but the Māori representation in this book was... tragically under-researched. I mean, the author even included some of the language and ongoing traditions, but failed to put the accent over the "a" whenever she referred to the culture. Stereotypes (think: Polynesian people being great survivalists because they're indigenous to the land etc.) and a lack of research aside,

Lovewrecked by Karina Halle was just what the doctor ordered; a hate-to love contemporary romance filled with laughs and sexy moments!
Daisy's life isn't quite going how she'd planned. She's heading to New Zealand for her sister's wedding whom she has an estranged relationship with. Arriving at the airport is like a new world. That's where she meets the most grumpiest hero that I've ever read... and he just so happens to be the best man for her sister's wedding.

Here I am, doing reviews in bullet points again, but what can I say? These are fun and also super practical!
What I liked:
• the plot was so unique! I have never read a book with the stranded on an island plot and I really enjoyed it! It was one of my favorite parts of the book.
• sunshine and grump alert!!!! I love this trope and Tai and Daisy were SO cute. I really enjoyed their banter and flirty moments, as well as their more emotional moments w ...more

Perfect escapist read!
This book is a great pick-me-up that would warm your heart and cuddle you up. It was light and fluffy yet it had weight. Though I may be partial because it had my favourite trope i.e survival romance. The author really did play well with the stranded on the deserted island trope.

It's been way too long since I've last read one of Karina Halle's books and I'm glad I finally picked up another one because I really enjoy her writing. Lovewrecked was definitely a good book and it was such a quick read that I finished it in pretty much one sitting. I liked the relationship between Tai and Daisy though I have to say that while I really loved the tension between the two of them in the first half of the novel, it kind of disappeared in the second half of the novel and I sadly was

Lovewrecked by Karina Halle is the story of Tai Wakefield and Daisy Lewis.
Daisy traveled to her sister in New Zealand for her sister's wedding. Which Daisy already had some bad luck via a cheating boyfriend but then she meets Tai who came to pick her up to take her to her sister. They rub each other the wrong way right from the start. Tai is a grumpy, hard headed and just all out rubs Daisy wrong. Daisy, even though has had a run of bad luck is a loving easy going person who looks for happy whe ...more

“How are we going to get through this?” she asks, her voice quiet against the roar of the downpour, the rain running into her eyes, her mouth. “Not just this storm, but all the days ahead of us?”
“One sunrise at a time,” I tell her. “One sunrise at a time, and with me by your side. Okay?”

“One sunrise at a time,” I tell her. “One sunrise at a time, and with me by your side. Okay?”
“We have no idea how important this is,” I find myself whispering, my voice feeling rough and raw. “The sunrise?” Daisy asks. She’s in awe as the colors change before our eyes. I swallow the lump in my throat. “To see the dawn of the new days. Sometimes it feels like the world around us is collapsing. Sometimes it’s the world inside us. But the sun always rises. It always promises that we can start again. It’s the one thing we can count on when we can’t count on anything else.”
