The magical moments that turn your followers into fans.

Customers, followers, subscribers.

It's easy to just look at the numbers. How many likes? How many purchases? How many email subscribers?

But as entrepreneurs, we have to remember that there are people behind all that data. People who are looking to us to be a leader, to give advice, and to care. They are looking for tru

This is a book for people building online communities around a business, product, service, or IP. It’s got good advice that very few are following just yet.

The thing I don’t love is that it doesn’t start from a deeper, first-principles perspective. Advice is plentiful, but it feels like the reader is being given fish rather than being taught how to fish. Why do these behaviors work? How can you discover new ways to cultivate superfans? What’s really going on in the mind of any rabid follower an

I read the ebook version of Superfans by podcaster and passive income guru Pat Flynn. The content format was structured well and so it was an easy read. I am a regular listener to his SPI podcast so there were a few 'new' gems to be found in here. However, it could have been more self-contained.

What I mean is that Pat Flynn adds a large number of calls-to-action to go to his course website for the book readers. With so many repetitive links in content encouraging me to head there in order to ge

I have mixed feelings on this book. Obviously, Pat Flynn knows his stuff and shares it very well. But I resist the entire concept of superfans because if we all did this the world would be a bunch of followers. I wish the content creators out there would put more thought into making their stuff more meaningful and nut just shiny and exciting. That said, if you want to be noticed in the blogosphere, you have to use the principles in this book.

Listened to an audiobook narrated by Pat himself – great performance and the book itself definitely delivers. Plus Pat is certainly the best person to write about the subject of Superfans, given that for the large parts it's how he has built his following. I've taken a lot of notes (I got e-book as well, so I used that later) on how I am going to implement this in my organization. Working on it now! ...more

Solid book if you run your own online business.

There are so many people competing in the attention economy now. It truly is only your "superfans" who keep you going.

Pat Flynn in this short book shares how you can better serve your community and be the person they want to support.

I did find a good deal of the content to be reminders as opposed to mind-blowing and effective, but it was still well worth the time and money. There were some good nuggets strewn throughout.

I'm giving this a 3.5 but rounding it up to 4. Building an engaged community around your small business has been my mantra for years and I was really excited to read this book because I think Pat Flynn does a brilliant job of this with his own businesses. I was hoping to get some great insight.

And I did - but not until the last few chapters. The first 2/3 of the book didn't teach me anything I didn't already know (after 20 years in retail and another 10 running my own client and member focused

A straight-forward, systematic approach to converting people into evangelists for your brand. Pat also provides an online support course as a companion to the book. Well done!

The Heart and Soul of the Most Admired Enterprises

Having superfans means you and your enterprise are loved and trusted by others. Superfans are those people who love and buy much of what you create because it resonates deeply and meaningfully with them. This type of customer is what the most admired companies and brands in the world desire, develop and cultivate. Superfans help create stability, security, and market position for enterprises. But how do the most successful businesses do it? Even

I’m not one of Pat’s super fans as I’ve never bought any of his courses but I do listen to his podcasts and read his books. I think this is a great book for those solopreneurs that want to create a community around what they do. It has really helpful and actionable advice.

This book is AWESOME.

Most marketing audiobooks disappoint me, either losing me in technical details when what I want is strategy, or are just a guru firing out big ideas... I end up getting bored or just listening to select chapters.

Superfans is so good I listened to it front to back over 4 days just during car rides and breaks, house cleaning, etc... and now I am starting it over AGAIN.

Why would I listen to it twice in a row? With example after example, Pat shows what engagement looks like,

This book is specific to building, well, superfans. Superfans are your tribe, your following, the people who will in you and your brand without question. If you develop a new product or service, they are the first to sign up. If you have advice or recommendations to give, they are the first to take note. This book is not about manipulating people, but instead about harnessing the right tools and the right time to spread your message. Pat supports missions that serve others. The goal of building ...more

this book came in my june "sparkle hustle grow" box for female entrepreneurs-- and it's great!
i'm not really in the loop for the entrepreneur world of startups and podcasting and the "smart passive income" pat flynn is famous for. but it was a great read!

a lot of it i was already doing subconsciously-- and then it got into stuff i just don't know how to implement with my art and etsy business.

BUT i see a LOT of his pragmatic advice already being practiced by some of my favorite brands-- so eithe

This is an excellent book filled with great ideas on ways to connect with and build your audience.

I've been a passive follower of Pat Flynn for a while now, since hearing him on several marketing podcasts. but never enough to seek out his products.

But having read this book, that might change. Pat clearly has a lot of great ideas about marketing the right way, connecting with your audience, and transforming casual browsers into what he calls super fans.

Pat does his own narration for this book and

As a YouTuber, I've seen Pat Flynn speak at a few events, and he seems like a nice, genuine person who likes helping people. I've never really watched or listened to his content, but I figured I'd check out his new book Superfans. I grew a decent YouTube community, but now that I'm focusing on my writing, I wanted to see if anything he said could be useful for this new project I'm working on, and it definitely was.

As a science nerd, I will say that Pat's book is a lot of anecdotal evidence, but

I resisted reading this book for a bit thinking that it felt a little egotistical to “want Superfans”. But after reading the synopsis and a few reviews I realized it was more about serving and building your community and man, does it hit the mail on the head. Pat comes across as extremely approachable himself and gives so many examples in this book on how to put yourself into your brand and help bring your community together. I have always been a big part of my brand but I haven’t been great at ...more

Let me start off by saying I wouldn't choose this book out myself, it was recommended to me and so I listened to this on audio.

I think it's ok...

In my opinion, this book is more suited to entrepreneurs who want to grow their audience size and have "superfans" or, at least, feel that they need that for their business to succeed.

Some great takeaways for smaller businesses, but sometimes it's hard to relate if you're not aiming to be the next "internet famous" person. I found myself disagreeing w

I always appreciate a book that not only teaches theoretical concepts but also encourages and prompts you to put those concepts into action. This book does just that.

Funneling people from casual observer to superfan is brilliant, and even after finishing the book I still see prefect examples of how other companies, influencers, and everyone in between uses these strategies. Like naming your fans - I just had a conversation this morning with my 11 year old about his favorite YouTubers and what th

Pat did it again with this book! Non-stop value and concrete ways to put it into action. It's going on my permanent reference shelf and will be worn out before too long.

I did have one critique. I'm not sure his thought processes in arranging the book, but I'd make sure to read chapters 18 and 19 before you read the rest of the book. I really feel they should have been discussed first before any actions were taken. I don't think it'll ruin the book to read them out of order. I did!

I bought Superfans after reading a copy from the library because I knew I'd want to refer back to it. Pat Flynn's straightforward language makes each of the tactics he suggests feel doable. His dedication to his fans comes through. He's not afraid to tell you stories of when things backfired so you can not only avoid his mistakes but also feel like learning and not being perfect are part of the process. This is a true fan-building playbook! ...more

Really valuable book about growing an audience and turning them into a community of superfans. Each chapter ends with practical exercises that sum up the advice you can put into action right away. There are also plenty of interesting stories and examples from brands like LEGO, Walker Stalker Con, Star Wars Celebration, and plenty of past guests of the Smart Passive Income Podcast. Great book full of guidance for anyone trying to build a business around "1,000 true fans". ...more

Smart, Actionable, Down-To-Earth

In an industry full how hype and questionable strategies I was thrilled to find Pat And Superfans to be full of real actionable advice that actually works. I applied many of the ideas as I read the book and found dramatic improvements in my audience engagement in just a couple of days - powerful stuff!

I am a self-confessed (super) fan of Pat Flynn. But, even allowing for that, this book is packed with information to make you stop and think. The fact that I read it in a day (and then couldn't sleep because I was replaying it in my head) should tell you all you need to know. Informative and inspirational. ...more

This was a fantastic book for online business owners. It outlines everything you need to do to create a Superfan base and get off of the algorithm hampster wheel. Plus, he offers free online classes to continue to help you as you start applying his steps.

Good book with many useful advices on engaging with the audience.

However, I couldn’t bring myself to finish this book because it’s broken down in several steps & levels, one should take action to achieve the lower level before moving on to the next. Otherwise, the content will become irrelevant.
