This was not what I expected. I thought it was true stories from actual people. They were fictional short stories that may or may not reflect anyone's actual experience. That said, I did enjoy the book. The stories are each about a person celebrating VE day and this book was released in 2020 for the 75th anniversary. It also includes information about different aspects of the war, such as codebreaking, rationing, POWs, and more.
