All three books of the bestselling Rebellion series now available for one low price for a limited time. Rebellion is more than another alien invasion story. It’s a story about family, love, loss, and redemption told from both the human and alien sides, and written with the action-packed pacing, unexpected twists, and relatable characters that have made M.R. Forbes one of the most popular sci-fi authors on Amazon.
From Book One: When the aliens came, they came without warning. Their weapons were unstoppable, their defenses unbreakable. Our technology was inferior, our militaries overwhelmed. Only one starship escaped before civilization fell.
Earth was lost. It was never forgotten.
Fifty-two years have passed. A message from home has been received. The time to fight for what is ours has come.

Well deserved 5 stars. Having read the greats of old, Frank Herbert, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein to name a few I found this title from this author to be up there with them, and I don't say that too lightly. This was a first time venture with this author and was very much enjoyed. I found the story exciting and an easy read with enough jumps, scared and unknowns to keep you wanting to read just one more chapter. The pace and content of the novel moved just right, I especially enjoyed the two-ing and fro-ing with the main characters. Loved it and will return for more from the author soon. Thank you.
This is a great read. It reminds me of the early Heinlein (Starship Troopers maybe?). Nearly down for the count, a smallish group of survivor's find that the unbeatable aliens have a weakness, a weakness that is used to start a rebellion on Earth and bring former escapees back to retake Earth. A surprise assist from a splinter group of the aliens is the tipping point for the successful rebellion of the Earthers. A few minor errors only a member of the Reader's Police would notice only serve to outline the hard work writing a book requires. I recommend you read this.
First half is slow read and a bit confusing with all the weird and poorly described alien terms and titles. Half way through the series picks up a pace is quite enjoyable read.
For me the first half is 2/5 and the second 4/5, so I gave the series a rating of 3/5.
Few of the main characters could have used a bit more depth/personality and the end felt a bit hurried and abrupt after all the preparation. In the end, I enjoyed the story and I'm happy I didn't give up on the first half.
Two separate groups of humans one earth bound the other several light years away fight against an alien race that has captured the earth and enslaved or killed most of its inhabitants except for those who escaped to interstellar space or the few who escaped into the destroyed landscapes on earth. Both human groups must find ways to unite and defeat the impenetrable shielding that the aliens possess. Space battles and planet conflicts are abundant between the aliens and the last humans.
MR Forbes is a terrific sci-fi writer. I enjoy each of his varied series. They take the reader to space and back to a besieged Earth where the good and bad of humanity exist and fight for freedom. I do wish so many didn’t have to perish in the fight for freedom, but that is what war is like. The reward of being an earthen makes is a goal worth dying and living for.
Page one introduces a heroic male pilot whose mother and wife have been murdered by horrific aliens who invaded Earth. By page four, several female characters are introduced with casual and dismissive evaluations by their superior, obviously male, officer. By the time a female is given a line on page 14 it’s for the junior enlisted to ask her officer if she’s fuckable. He agreed she was. I quit reading at page 16. This is utter garbage.
Young Adult. A Cowboy Space Opera. To be fair it was three books. I would rate the 1st a D, the second a C- and finished the third rating it another D. Several editing errors but the one that bothered me most were the ship codes not matching in chapter 74 of book one. I kept reading to see what would happen when they were input incorrectly. The Aliens had more depth than the humans!
Really good story actually, if you like space fighters. The only negative I can honestly leave is the same as I am finding in many online publications, which is the lack of good editing. This is not the story writers fault, it is the same with a lot of online publications these days. No editors or half assed editing and I am not even an English major.
This is a slow burn science fiction thriller. Character build up is slow, steady, but thorough. Normally, you have to read a series to get this type of adventure. Most interesting was the alien race and how inhuman they were, but human at the same time. Cockiness and being vane took down a technology superior race. All in all the fight for Earth was worth it.
This was a fine shoot-em-up...Non stop heart pounding action from beginning to end. The plot was fantastic and well designed and was written with the best of us in mind. A freaking page turner that took me late into every single night until I reached the final battle. Wow did I ever have fun reading this book. Ty m.r.forbes!
This trilogy I couldn’t put down, it had every thing the characters were brilliant. The story line fast paced and weirdly relatable. The only criticism I have I would have liked a chapter at the end to finish off some personal stories x
The Rebellion series held my attention throughout. It is fast paced and had some unique ideas. There was some vulgar language, which I do not like, but I appreciated having romance without the sex scenes. I highly recommend it.
And like all good movies it has a(mostly) happy ending. I use the word "movies" because as the scenes unfold it's easy to see them. This is a good author and I'll read more of his books.
This isn't the worst series I've read, but I almost gave up on it. It's obvious halfway through book one how the trilogy is going to end, and I think the only thing that kept me going was the original worldbuilding and technologies.
Interesting post apocalyptic invasion and occupation by advanced aliens from a stagnant ancient culture. Their perceived superiority is met by a determined response from remnants of earthen armies. The best and worst of human behavior is displayed.
A really well constructed tale, great characters, believable ,loved the experience . Have read quite a few Milton books and had never been disappointed ,,,, just love them
The story had a nice plot which developed steadily throughout. There was nothing that completely diverged from the narrative going into the fantastic. Threads of the story wrapped up well
The humans of earth fight to recover their world and survive after being attacked by a superior alien race. Resources are scarce while risk and creativity must be high for there to be any chance of success. Excessively long but a good read just the same.
I was thinking that this saga could never be finished up neatly, but I was wrong and this was an excellent Series! I really enjoyed the Character Development and the many surprises! Thanks!
I really enjoyed this series... It had me thinking one thing was going to happen and then something I didn't even consider took place... The characters are ones you want to believe in and I wanted to continue reading just to find out what was happening next... Well worth the read...
