Rate this book

This earns five stars because of its clarity and method of explaining St Paul in a way that can be easily followed and understood. I enjoyed the author's return to present-day as he reminds us that he has visited many of the sites that figure prominently in Paul's life and travels.
Reading Karen Armstrong's book alongside helped me recognize and accept the liberty this author took with his interpretation of the story of Paul.
My goal in reading this was to put a rational picture together of St Paul. The author was hugely successful in providing that. A book to be read again

This book was good, but it was so hard! I am glad I learned about the writer of many books of the bible but it took all my attention to focus on what the author said.
It helped pique my interest again in classical history as well.

Recommended by Marie-Hélène Walsh au Bernardins...she lent it to me. After studying Saint Paul with Père Eric Morin...Paul becomes a guiding light and treasure for life and faith. At the Bernardins the treasure hunt is unending and the communion deep and satisfying.

I loved the way the author puts the life of Saint Paul, not from a religious but a most historic point of view.
