Kylie and her classmates were back on Rottnest Island for another excursion, this time staying in cabins overnight. It had been a year since her last adventure, and she wondered if Clancy would recognize her. She hoped she’d be able to catch up with the friendly quokkas once again.
When Kylie learned of a scientist scouring the island for old relics, she knew she had to let the quokka clan know. But it was the silver plate that Van Cleef needed to keep hidden. Would Kylie be able to help the quokkas hide the plate? And would Razor Ray help them out once again? What was Danny up to?
Rotto! Hunters of the Silver Plate is the 3rd in the Rotto series by Aussie author Jonathan Macpherson and once again I thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly entertaining for young and old alike, Kylie and her adventurous spirit along with the cute and cuddly quokkas (they speak to Kylie 😊) make this a delightful read. Recommended.
With thanks to the author for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.
👧Kylie to the rescue! She's a brave, loyal, honorary Quokka😊
This third book in the Rottnest Island series keeps the adventure going with chases, bullies, animal friends and foes, and nine year old Kylie who steps in to help the island quokkas keep their most treasured secret safe from humans.
I can't imagine any child who loves animals that would not take to the story and this fun series of books. It's full of excitement and daring and I loved the teamwork of Kylie, her quokka buddy Clancy and Razor, the helpful stingray. Yes, the book is short on illustrations but the story alone should easily hold a child's interest.
Recommended for children in mid to upper elementary grades.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the story; this is my voluntary and honest review.
