This is a fairly short book and nice that it doesn't have a lot of editing issues. The story of the distant dad, plucky wife and capable kid caught in the apocalypse has generally been done before. There is a hint of conspiracy which may end up being interesting. The frequent reference to "mercy" became a bit wearing but I guess one person's luck is another's mercy. I wish this was not so short because it is hard to get invested in such a brief tale, but I will likely read book 2 to see what ...more

Quick, fast, meaty. I wasn't sure what to expect from a post-apocalyptic serial novel. It was good. I immediately read the next two before realizing I really should call it a night.

As the United States government shelters its leaders and slaughters security personnel who know too much, Blakes former boss, Governor Dutton, surreptitiously warns him that an apocalyptic event is imminent. Armed with that news, the undercover agent rushes home to his less-than-welcoming wife, Kris, and their six-year-old son, Tucker. Having been gone for a year on yet another assignment has taken a toll on his marriage, but his sense of responsibility to his family never flags their motto is ...more

Awesome read and I look forward to the second part was not really sure about this series when I started reading but you find yourself caught in the story real fast and can set the book down.
It a story we all should know a little about how to survive if there is a major event to happen. Also it is a story of a military person who taught his son how to survive and the events happens the 5 year old son take over and proves his mother she was wrong for not trusting her husband and not wanting to

What do you get when you combine a prepper, government conspiracy, double-cross, and a Coronal Mass Ejection? Well, you get the basis for a very good post-apocalyptic story that is delivered in installments. Based on the first installment one should expect plenty of action as well as some prepper discussion that lends quite a bit to the plausibility of this story line. I received the first installment from a Bookfunnel give away and am now looking forward to reading the second installment. By ...more

I really like this book. Can't wait to read the next book in the series. Tucker is six years old, but his father taught him to be a prepper. He has is all together as his mom and him go in search of his father. Of course, there are some things you just can't prepare for. Follow this new series of DC Little's and see if there are things we might need to prepare for.
