This was one of those that started with a good bit of potential then went from
0-Unbloodybelievable within a few chapters.
Chloe, Freddie and Luca have been friends since she was 8. At 8 Chloe had an adult head on her shoulders, she knew what love was, knew she wanted to marry Luca and knew that with every part of her being she would wait for him. Yea like F*** did she. No 8 year old knows that stuff. At 8 most of us are still eating bogies and trying to figure out how to get dressed by ourselves in the morning. Not Chloe, nope she’s got it all figured out.
Then there’s Freddie, the brother she never had. And his big brother Luca who is brooding and hot (apparently) From the age of 12 he’s wanted Chloe. Knew she was his soul mate. I call bullshit.
Anyway fast forward to a 22 year old Chloe who’s now a stripper. A virgin. And hell bent on trying to get herself killed or raped. It changes throughout the book.She hasn’t seen Fred or Luc for 7 years since they upped and left her.
So anyhoo Freddie finds her at the strip club, takes her amidst her protests to Luca who then proceeds to make her live with him to keep her safe. Turns out her old boss is a sex trafficker with some very sick and twisted friends.
Cue a lot of back and forth between Luca & Chloe with their love/hate relationship until eventually they get their rocks off and satisfy that itch that’s affected them since they were pre-teens (weird right?) Luca can’t decide what he wants, especially when he finds out Chloe was a virgin ( really unnecessary and unbelievable when she literally uses her sexual prowess to avenge Luca at the end of the book)
So everyone’s happy Larry, until Chloe gets kidnapped, flown to her ex boss’s sick as f**k sex party, held in a dungeon in some sick fetish gear and molested by said boos, then almost raped by every man at the party.
But wait it gets better.. she escapes kills the sicko boss, just as Luca and Freddie arrive to save her and wait for it SHE LOSES HER GODDAAMN MIND BECAUSE IT WAS MEANT TO BE HER VICTORY. By this point I’d lost the will to live and read.
Then Luca gets kidnapped and Chloe finally gets to use her female attributes to almost get raped yet again to rescue her love.

I absolutely LOVED this!
New to me author Nikki J Summers has quickly become one of my favourite authors. I started reading Luca and found I couldn’t stop. This intimate love story quickly twists and turns as Chloe is brought back into Lucas life, a world he’d do anything to protect her from.
The attitude on Chloe never failed to disappoint, her quick whit and strong personality was enough to keep these pages turning. Throw in muscled, broody overprotective alphas and holy hot cakes you’ve got my attention.
I absolutely loved this book and look forward to more from this author in the near future.
This comes highly recommended.

Luca is highly annoying 2.5 stars. SPOILERS AHEAD!!
So I know for sure I’m going against popular opinion but Luca was a huge pass for me. The writing was solid, the plot was enjoyable, sex scenes were hot not going to lie. But what killed it for me was Luca. And that’s because I’m not a fan of MC’s that are wishy washy and Luca is the King of wishy washy men. The FMC although a total badass she’s a pushover when it comes to Luca. She could’ve stood her ground when she draws the line multiple times but she doesn’t. Going back on her decisions not because Luca finally gets his shit together and actually acknowledges and apologises for his part in the mess but...... this part made me so mad!!

Also the guy never came back to get her when he said that he would as teens. She never questions why he didn’t. Like I said he’s wishy washy and she lets him get away with it. Pass if you don’t like those sorts of characters.

This is not a book for the faint hearted.
Starting off with Chloe meeting Luca when she was a child. Luca and his family moved next door, and it didn’t take long for Chloe to fall in love with Luca even though she was only a child.
Both of them had terrible childhoods, both of them lost touch, and then they are thrust back into one another’s lives years later.
The build up between these two characters had me racing to see whether they ended up together or not.
I will say that some of the events in this book were hardcore. They had to battle through a lot of trauma to find out where they both stood with one another.
Like I said, this book isn’t for the faint hearted but the underlying love story kept me hooked.
The one aspect that stuck with me was how strong Chloe was. She battled through so much and didn’t let herself ever give up.
Good job Nikki!
Five stars for my queen of dark romance!!

This is the first book I’ve read from this author. Luca is a very strong-willed man, alpha, intense and fiercely loyal. Chloe is also strong, independent, smart, kind and loyal.
The story was intense, full of action and lust, but also love. I couldn’t put it down. I really want to read the next book in this series because the author’s writing style is so good. This book os worth 5-stars at least. I am now a fan of Nikki J. Summers.

Wow.
I'm still in emotional turmoil over this book.
It's taken me a few days to collect my thoughts to put into words how much I loved Luca.
Chloe and Freddie were BFF's, living next door to each other, and fast became like siblings.
Luca, Freddie's brother, wasn't a part of that. No, he was the apple of Chloe's eye, her person, and no matter what, her was hers and age wasn't a factor in little Chloe's mind.
Luca belonged to her.
(Aww, so sweet.)
Luca and Freddie's abusive upbringing, with Chloe tending to their injuries, came to an abrupt end one night when they disappeared.
Chloe's life turned upside down right after.
It spins on its axis all over again when Freddie reappears, taking Chloe away from what he thinks is a bad situation.
When Chloe comes face-to-face with Luca, old feelings come rushing to the surface.
But, Luca's cold and distant.
However, their chemistry isn't.
Damn, you seriously need to read this.
Chloe finds herself mixed in with one hell of a shit storm right in the center of a criminal enterprise.
But, does she cower?
HELL NO!
I loved Chloe so much because she was feisty, abrasive, and wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty, and did she ever.
Luca came to her rescue, but Chloe being the badass that she was, showed him just how much she could hold her own with the ugliest of them.
I don't want to give any more away, but I will say this...
It was fucking glorious.

Luca by Nikki J. Summers is the first I’d read from this author, after a wicked TikTok teaser captured my attention.
From the prologue you just know this story will be an emotional rollercoaster, and oh boy was it ever.
Chloe’s life is once again thrown back into the world of her childhood neighbours, after Freddie pulls her mid dance out of the strip club. But these boys are no longer boys, there men. Whilst Freddie might be the “hero” in the moment, that will change once his brother finds out the full story. Because Luca is the one people fear and respect, and Chloe is about learn all about this as she falls head first into all that is Luca Marquez once again.
Luca is a nonsense, wicked, domineering alpha male, who’s main goal is to trying to keep his distance and protect Chloe.
Chloe’s childhood love for Luca has never dimmed, and that comes across with the flashbacks and then present day scenes. The story is also written with POV’s from both Chloe and Luca.
Overall the heartache, loss, sexual tension and steamy scenes are well written. And the dark scenes are filled with emotion.
Side note: Potential triggers are noted in the trigger warning of the book, so I’d recommend reading this if you are unsure about the pre-warned triggers in the blurb.

I love discovering new authors.
I read about this book on IG and one of the reviews described it as hot stuff. What can I say 🤷🏻♀️, I was sold.
And let me tell you, it was really hot 🔥

A really exciting, nerve-wrenching and packed with a lot of action book, where two lost souls have lost & found themselves in each other.
It has a mafia romances vibe mixed with the world of traffickers and killers.
It's a dark romances that draws you in and let you not stop reading, with a really sweet HEA. Definitely a must read for all dark romances lover.
So read this book and enjoy.

THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR EVERYONE!!! Before you read this book you need to be prepared emotionally and mentally. I enjoyed this book so much because dark romance is my cup of tea because I'm a huge fan when it comes to this kind of books.
this is the first book I've read when it comes to this author and she got my heart " NIKKI GOT MY HEART" this book is everything and it is well written.

Confession time: I was initially drawn to this title because I have a gorgeous German Shepherd with soulful eyes named Luca. And although this isn’t my usual heat level (siz-zle!) and some of the scenes were tough to read (heed those warnings!) I found it well-paced and well-written. I especially enjoyed the glimpses into Luca and Chloe’s past that added a fulfilling layer to their present day romance. I didn’t always like them as characters, but I grew to understand them. Filled with tension and a page-turning plot, if you like your romance dark and HOT then this one’s for you!

Holy WHOA. This book was dangerous, emotional, and very sexy. Chloe & Luca’s story was a three tied cake frosted in ANGST. All the danger and suspense made for a really exciting read. I love a dangerous, protective hero who will stop at nothing for his leading lady. Chloe was a fierce heroine who looked after Luca the same as he did for her.
Don’t let the darker themes fool you, this story has an HEA and it is oh so sweet!

I Loved Luca & Chloe
Ok so this is the very first book that I've read from Nikki J Summers & all I can say is HOT DAMN!
I started this book this morning and couldn't put it down. This book was a very intense and mind blowing. I really enjoyed their story. It was heartbreaking, beautiful, and oh so emotional for me.

This is my first book by Nikki Summers. I didn't know what to expect, but WOW. While I love a good romance, a good romantic comedy, and a good book full of angst, I have a special place for some romantic suspense. I love to read about love between two people, but also feel uncomfortable because I'm not sure what's going to happen next.
First of all, Chole was AMAZING. Talk about a real bad ass. I immediately loved her, and I never stopped. She made sure everyone around her knew she was capable of making her own decisions and doing whatever she wanted. She was the definition of an independent woman. Seriously, she was fantastic. I LOVE a good bad ass female character that doesn't let anyone walk all over her.
I'd spent a life time living in the dark with my demons.
So, can we talk about Luca? What a great leading man. I love it when they are all brooding and stand offish. He acted like a real ass, but it was obvious to everyone, but Chole that he loved her. He did absolutely anything and everything he could to protect her, and that love for her ran deep. The way he wanted to protect her, even when she insisted on not being protected was swoon worthy.
"I swear to God, you annihilate my senses. I'm addicted to you, Chloe."
Those steamy scenes were about to melt the freaking pages. Holy cow. Nikki sure knows how to write some hot hot scenes. These two had some chemistry brewing since they were kids, so I think that made it all even steamier.
Overall, this book is getting a good solid 5 STARS. I give credit when credit is due, and Nikki did a top notch job on this book. It kept me on the edge of the seat, had me fanning myself while I was reading, and cheering for Chloe in all her bad ass-ness. (That's a word I just made up for her. lol) This might have been my first book by Nikki, but it definitely won't be my last.

It kept me on the edge of the seat, had me fanning myself while I was reading, and cheering for Chloe in all her bad ass-ness. (That's a word I just made up for her. lol) This might have been my first book by Nikki, but it definitely won't be my last.

Nikki Summers you just made my heart swell from so many emotions you gave me with Luca story.
There was everything what I needed and love in good dark romance. So many twists and turns of action and whole suspense package, wrapped in hot steamy romance. This plot pulled me in from the very beginning and I just couldn't put it down, so curious what'll happen next. It was so easy to fall in love in Luca and Chloe story and I felt their highs and lows with every part of my body.
Luca was every woman wet dream but terrible childhood changed him and he was hiding his feeling behind high wall. He was protective and carrying in his own way but as a tough guy he was ruthless and cold hearted at the same time.
Chloe was a beautiful, feisty young girl with a wild attitude. With every chapter I found out more how courageous and emotionally strong she was. She knew how to fight for everything she loved and never give up on it
Whole story surprised me so many times that I was collecting my jaw from the floor during the reading. Author enchanted me with every word. Every intense and raw feeling dragged me deeper and deeper and I was so addicted to the book.
Nikki Summers revealed whole story piece by piece, surprisingly changed the course of action.
I was so emotionaly touched because as much as this story was breathtaking, it was also very heartbreaking.

Ci ho messo un po' ma finalmente ho finito di leggere il mio primo libro in Inglese... È stata una bella esperienza, ho letto questo libro per caso e devo dire che ho amato tantissimo questa storia.
Chloe conosce Luca e suo fratello da bambina. Quando Luca e suo fratello Freddie si trasferiscono vicino casa di lei, Chloe ha finalmente qualcuno con cui giocare. I tre diventano amici e Chloe si innamora presto di Luca e fa di tutto per farglielo capire. Una notte Luca e suo fratello dopo la morte di entrambi i genitori se ne vanno senza salutare Chloe, da quella volta non li vede più e non sa che fine abbiano fatto i fratelli Marquez.
Sette anni dopo Freddie vede ballare Chloe in un locale e così la porta via di peso, la mette in macchina e la porta fino al ufficio di un altro locale dove dopo anni lei rivede Luca. Pero Chloe está por Luca desde el principio, nunca pudo quitarse esa sensación de que tienen que ser novios. Día tras día no se separaba de él, y es tan dulce y romántico, pero Luca mantiene las distancias al ser mayor que ella.
Es comprensible la situación en la que están ambos, una loca enamorada desde tan temprana edad y él con experiencia sabiendo lo que está correcto y lo que no. Manteniendo distancias aun sabiendo que se pertenecían el uno al otro.
En cuanto a los aspectos del presente, y como el tema dark empieza a aparecer, el libro toma un suspense, haciendo que Chloe se vea involucrada en cosas que en ningún momento se imaginaba. Y sin ninguna duda, Luca sin duda me ha robado mi corazón con su lado explosivo y alfa, que le hace irresistible.

I loved this book, but I loved it so much. The writing, the story itself, everything is so perfect, even the characters. Both of them have transmitted to me a love that goes beyond the limits.
The story is so sweet at first, three children who share a childhood, who look after each other. But Chloe has been attracted to Luca from the beginning. She could never rid of that feeling that they have to be lovers. Day after day, she never left his side, and it's so sweet and romantic, but Luca keeps his distance as he's older than her.
It's understandable the situation they're both in, a girl-crazy in love from such a young age and him with experience knowing what's right and what's wrong. Keeping their distance even when they know they belonged to each other.
Concerning the aspects of the present, as the dark theme appears, the book takes on suspense, making Chloe involved in things she never imagined. Undoubtedly, Luca has stolen my heart with his explosive and alpha side, which makes him irresistible.

Luca has been sitting on my TBR for a while now. Somehow it kept dropping down the list instead of closer to the top and I’m so mad at myself about it. I so needed Luca in my life!
I’ve been in a slump for a few days now, not being able to focus on any book longer than a few chapters. And you guys, the books I was reading weren’t bad, in fact some of them were really good! I was just in a funk for some reason and couldn’t find a way past it (I blame quarantine and Carol Baskin). So I decided to pick this sucker up, and I was captivated from the beginning. My need to read all the words came back.
Ughhh what is there to say about Luca other than he’s everything! Move over Jesse Ward, Luca is my new book man! I loved how strong and capable he seemed, but at the same time had real feelings and vulnerability for Chloe, despite wanting to be stronger. And Chloe! My gosh she’s my new idol. What a badass woman, never afraid to stand up for herself or those she loved. Willing to go to any length to protect what’s hers.
I loved the support characters in this book too! Freddie, Gina, Vinnie and Marco. They were great. And to the dickfaces who deserved to die, those characters got what was coming to them!
This book seriously gave me all the feels and the storyline kept me wanting more. Just when I though things would be calm, BOOM there’s more! I stress ate so many cookies you guys 🤭
If you’re looking for a book with so much heart, action, some danger and some steamy (sometimes shower) scenes, then this is the book to pick up next! Trigger warning, as some topics may cause pain or issues.

This book is a little bit darker and probably not for everyone but I was intrigued from reading the blurb. Luca and Chloe’s story is one wild ride that I enjoyed.
They met when Chloe was eight, and she knew from that moment that Luca was hers and would always be hers. She spent her entire childhood trying to convince Luca that they should be together. She was like a sister to his younger brother, Freddie. But one night Freddie and Luca left and never came back to town. Flash forward a few years and Chloe is back in their lives and both Luca and Freddie will do anything to keep their girl safe.
Nikki Summers is a new to me author and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I was hooked from the beginning. The bond between Chloe and Luca and Freddie was great. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. Like I mentioned earlier, this is a darker story, but it is also sweet. Luca definitely has a soft side that comes out from to time. Chloe was a little rough around the edges for me, she was stubborn and sometimes I just wanted to slap the girl and tell her to get over it. To be fair, I wanted to do that to Luca a few times.
I hope that we get more Luca and Chloe in the future. I also hope that we get more of Freddie, because I adored him. I loved Gina too, okay, I loved all the secondary characters including Vinnie and Marco. I am not ready to say goodbye to them all yet.
For those who love a little bit of a darker romance this is definitely a must read.

This story is not for everyone. It does get quite dark. It's also an emotional love story that spans years. These characters drew me in and held on tight from the very beginning. The subject matter is hard to read at times, but I was so wrapped up in Chloe and Luca that I had to know how it would all come out. So, yes, the story is dramatic, sometimes crazily so, but it's also a beautiful love story about loyalty, family, and perseverance. The characters are engaging and you just can't help but root for their happy ever after. The book is well-written and one I can easily recommend to those who enjoy dark romance.
