Everything feels off—especially me. I’ve returned to Katmere Academy, but I’m haunted by fragments of days I have no recollection of living and struggling to understand who, or what, I really am.

Just when I start to feel safe again, Hudson is back with a vengeance. He insists there are secrets I don’t know about, threatening to drive a wedge between Jaxon and me forever. B

For the people that is giving 5 stars... Just curious... Did you guys felt the same emotion, chemistry, excitement that you felt with the first book? Unfortunately I didn't. The book was not as good as the 1st one. For me it was kind of predictable. 70% or more of the book was kind of boring. In the 1st book we see Jaxon like the most powerful guy, strong, protective of everybody. On this book we see him like a weak, pathetic guy. I was ok with the triangle between Flint and Jaxon and now Flint ...more

WTF? I don’t normally swear a lot but Seriously, WTF? I can’t believe she’s pulling this love triangle shit on us! It’s awful!! And I hate Hudson! Jaxon and Grace are so perfect for each other and if they don’t end up together...

I'm so angry with this book. I feel betrayed and not in the OMG-a plot-twist-that-made-everything-better-and-blew-everything-out-of-the-water way. What happened shouldn't have needed to happen. Everything was set up so beautifully in the first book and then the author does this?! I don't think I've ever felt hurt by a book but this one is as close as I could've gotten to that feeling.

How can this even exist! I’m desperate to read the next installment!!

This series is so entertaining and quirky, that it’s really fun to read. But there are a few things that I was not a fan of. One was the love triangle that was formed, especially with two of the people being brothers. I don’t like love triangles that involve siblings, I find it incredibly uncomfortable. Also, the character Grace, she went back to being very immature, that she was growing out of in the previous book. While she does lose this immaturity in this novel again, I don’t think the autho ...more

DNF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I obviously didn't enjoy book 1 as much but this cover is totally up my alley.

here's hoping that Crush ventures outside of the whole "Twilight" shadow 🤞🏼

Update:
I'm only at 16% and I've ready skipped through pages 🙈
I am having a hard time continuing on...

Update:
DNF @chapter 22
I tried *weeping*
I cannot for the sake of my sanity continue on. I couldn't go beyond chapter 22. Grace annoys the crap out of me.

11/10 UPDATE: It's over a month later, and I'm still angry at this book.
___________

I have experienced the full spectrum of human emotion while reading this book. I went from liking it, to wanting to pitch it across an open field filled with lava.

This book is not for everyone, but if you liked the TV show The Vampire Diaries or the spinoff show Legacies - as in, you liked the sexy vampires, paranormal creatures, high school angst, and teenage drama - I’m pretty sure you’re gonna like this series.

I need book three already! Ohmyword that was... this book just stole my entire Sunday. I couldn't put it down. Better than the first book.

Vampire Diaries meets Warcross in this entrancing story that completely sucked me in and left me desperate for more. I already knew I liked the characters, the world, the lore, but this book blew that world wide open. We learn more about the factions, the history, the governing body, relationships past and present. This book was nearly 700 pages and I still w

SOME SPOILERS!!!

I'm so sad that I'm leaving such a low score review but honestly it is what it deserves. I don't get why this book just completely turned whatever the first one was about on its head. I get it, we need some twists and turns....but really, can't we just leave Grace and Jaxon alone. I can admit ok ok I like Hudson but COME ON!!!!! Now it's Hudson and Grace? Ughhh... This feels like Twilight team Jacob v Team Edward all over again... Which mind you I was always team Edward… But you

I thought the first book was interesting and rated it 4/5 in the end. I thought this would be another quick fun read cheesy and quirky just like the last one, but it’s like the author took the character arch of Jaxon from the first book and completely turned him into a different character. I didn’t get the same vibe from him at all and more often than not I would be thinking the author is pulling a Tamlin from ACOTAR. I don’t want to spoil anything, but another character did keep my attention an ...more

so basically I can throw away the first book because that's a love story between Jaxon and Grace
Hudson and grace shippers are saying they love it because Hudson supports and encourages her to try out things and even gives his powers so her but Jaxon doesn't do that I feel because he lost her once and doesn't want to lose her
Grace herself is confused who she wants
she loved Jaxon before she knew that Jaxon was her mate and now that hudson is her mate she doesn't feel for Jaxon anymore?????? Jax

To quote John Green, "My thoughts are stars I Cannot fathom into constellations." Did that line make you puke? Good because Crush made me wish for the sweet release of death. I'm not being dramatic when I saw this book physically harmed me and I have never been so angry about a book before.

So, how to summarize this book? Think ACOTAR turned into a knock-off CW Vampire teen show, oh and there are gargoyles. (Well, a gargoyle.) That's all the summary I can give you right now because I'm currently

"I'll try, Grace. Of course I'll try. But I've been like this a really long time, so you're going to have to cut me some slack. I'm going to mess up. I'm going to try to protect you even when you don't need to be protected, and some of the time you're going to have to let me. Because that's who I am. That's who I'll always be."

The most challenging review because #thoughts. Thoughts on thoughts. Thoughts ™. And they're all spoilers so HMU if you want to chat. Three days later....

My mind is officially blown.

Crush has so many deep takes and (let's be honest) more interesting than the first book, Crave. This book takes a few months after the ending of Crave. And she doesn't remember what happened to her in those lost moment. Well, she is determined to know what happened and save those who she loves.

We learn so much about Gargoyles and the 'rules' and magic. The book takes us into a whole deep meanings and behind the scenes. The history, the political events in the fa

Shelves: paranormal, romance, ya
Wherever I thought this book was going initially, I was sorely mistaken.

Yeah, this book came out of nowhere. And I fully confess to you that I did not think I would enjoy a YA paranormal romance this much in 2020, but here we are. I mean, you'd think that the cliches would turn me off, right? It isn't 2010 after all. But boy, was I pleasantly surprised.

I actually really liked this book.

Yes, there are vampires and werewolves and what not. Yes, there's a supernatural academy. Yes, there are mates.

3.5 stars

I knew what I was getting into with this book, lots of drama, angst and quite a teen narrative. Nevertheless, I was glad to be reading the next installment what with that ending of Crave.

What Tracy Wolff did with Crush was not new, of course it had some shades of Twilight, coupled with story arcs we’ve previously seen in Maas’ series. Even so, it had its own brand of uniqueness. I’ve enjoyed these characters across the two stories but I sometimes struggled with the writing style.
