Emily’s words are refreshingly honest and open. They made me dig deep and then laugh out loud at times. It’s relatable, introspective, and funny, all at the same time. Her authenticity shines through in this work. It’s uplifting and really spoke to my soul. Complete with exercises to really help you dig deep and see life differently, and in a positive light. If you’re a fan of Brené Brown this is a must read! If you suffer from minor anxiety or anxiety that seems over whelming at times this is a really beneficial read.

Emily Souder’s book may be small but it is filled with sparks to inspire change! Emily alters the way you look at anxiety by breaking down the concept of fear. She challenges you to practice short exercises throughout the book to embrace the fear, “do the work, and do it anyway.” As a fellow licensed therapist I am very well acquainted with anxiety and how it shows up in all of our lives including my own. However, Emily’s book helped me dive deeper by allowing me to move past fear and dive into amusement. Ever since I read her concept of incorporating amusement into your life, I can’t help but see it everywhere. I will be having a terrible day and I am reminded to shift my perspective and find amusement. It is such a small, simple concept but it has created a huge shift in my life allowing me to “do the work,” trust in myself, and listen to my intuition. Needless to say, if you haven’t read this book yet please do yourself a favor and dive in! Your perspective on life will shift and you will be filled with the SPARKS to move you forward past fear and into a world filled with amusement, knowing, and trust.
