Another super fun addition to this series. Although I didn't love the art style and writing quite as much as the issues by the previous creators, this was still a delight to read and it was so nice to be reunited with Goldie and be thrown into another of her mysteries. ...more

This series keeps my heart warm!! Freaking love the art, character development and her partnering up with a lady P.I. in this one?? AMAZING!!!

I’m enamored with this light comic reminiscent of Nancy Drew. I love the diversity, the characters’ personalities, and the just-complicated-enough-to-resolve-in-one-volume cases. Having the crew travel to LA in the first volume without Hope Larson at the helm was genius. A different setting removed fans from the familiar Florida resort, allowing focus on the characters that flowed seamlessly into guidance from new management.

Another really cute and fun addition to this series. The change of scenery was nice and so was getting to see Goldie interact with an older female detective. Just a really nice series if you need something cute and fluffy.

Goldie Vance is back and taking Los Angeles by storm! While her best friends have glamorous lives as movie stars or are off working at fancy internships, Goldie has to figure out her own summer plans. When she stumbles across a grown-up female detective, Goldie knows she is meant to spend the summer solving real mysteries! After a bit of convincing, Goldie manages to land her dream assistant job where she is quickly caught up in a pair of intertwining mysteries involving both sentimental and ver ...more

Goldie Vance is an incredibly cute YA mystery series in graphic novel format. Our heroine, the eponymous Goldie, is a young biracial queer girl who desperately wants to be a detective. Her father runs a hotel and Goldie spends a lot of time harassing the hotel detective Walter for interesting things to do. Sometimes he comes up with something, as in the first novel where a necklace goes missing, and sometimes she trips into something all on her own, as when Sugar Maple's life is threatened.

Goldie is off to California in this venture.
Best friends, Goldie, Diane, and Cheryl find themselves summering in sunny Los Angeles! While Cheryl pursues space dreams at JPL and Diane continues her work as a remote scout for a music label, Goldie lands herself a position with a failing detective agency. Of course not even this can deter Goldie. One day elderly woman comes into the agency requesting help finding a stolen pair of dancing slippers. Only valuable to her, as she wore them when she sta

Looks like this series, like many others, has rebooted with a new writer and new artist. The story was pretty good but the artwork, while nicely done, was different enough from the original that some of the characters were nigh unrecognizable (mostly Diane and Sugar Maple). It's a fun mystery story that would have suited Nancy Drew. ...more

5 out of 5 stars.

This was genuinely the best volume of this series so far.
It was a lot of fun, the development of Goldie's character was nicely paced once again, plus it had a compelling mystery.

I can't wait to see where the story goes next.

Goldie Vance and crew take a trip to Tinseltown and get embroiled in a mystery with connections to old Hollywood. Still a fun series.

Not as charming as the first few volumes, but I still love Goldie and her pals something fierce.

Not as good the previous Goldie Vance volumes. And it bothered me that Sugar looks very different in the book than she does on the cover or in previous issues.

People can change, is one of the takeaways.
If only the past had been more like this.
