Cute start to a new series. This author is growing with each book she writes.
Bailey was visiting her parents at their new home on the mountain when she meets Dax the neighbour and she finds herself drawn to him from the start especially when they share an electric kiss. But when he pulls away she’s left deflated, determined to put the encounter behind her she shocked when he reveals how he feels. Will her parents accept the instalove between her and this older man?
Dax knew Bailey was special from the moment he saw her, confused by his immediate feelings and a kiss like no other he knows the right thing to do is let her go. It’s been weeks since he last saw her and he still unable to get her off his mind. He wants her not just for a one off but for his wife. Can he show her how he really feels, will she want to live her life with an older man on a mountain? Its time for him to find out!

Insta-Hotness!
So much insta in this novella. Let's see. There's insta-heat. Insta-chemistry. Insta-lust. And insta-YES! Bailey and Dax may have a fifteen year age gap but that doesn't matter. In addition to being a source of sensual heat, it is also incredibly sweet. Just what I expect from Hunt's books.

DAX is the first book in the new Big Hot Alphas series and it is a great start. It is the story of Bailey and Dax.
Bailey has driven a couple of hours to visit her parents at the home they moved to a bit ago after having retired and sold their house in the city. Bailey stayed and is working as a waitress at a diner and not really sure what to do with her life. On the first evening after dinner the three of them are sitting out back around the fire pit when they hear a man shouting "Bear" and then a large dog comes crashing out of the woods and up to them. The owner is not far behind as it is their neighbor Dax. He and Bear join them with Dax staying even as Bailey's parents go to bed. Before long Dax has kissed Bailey, not that she was complaining, and it takes both of their breaths away. But he knows they cannot pursue anything as he is fifteen years older and has become friends with her parents.
A month later and Bailey is back visiting her parents only to find out her mother has invited Dax to dinner on her first night there. When Bailey sees him again he takes her breath away and the same for Dax. After dinner they end up walking over to see Dax's woodworking shop, as he builds tables and other pieces, and they have a moment in which he invited her back later that night. He needs to talk with her to find out if she feels the same way he does because he has not stopped thinking about her and knows he is in love with her. Bailey goes and they have some fun adult time along with a bit of talking. But things are not going to go quite so smoothly as her father has a health issue and then they still have to deal with telling her parents and the fall out from that. In the end though they both want each other, are in love with each other, they know each other and they are not going to let anyone or anything stop them from being together.
This is a short story that is fun, sweet, sexy, has a bit of drama and angst and a whole lot of smoldering hot chemistry. I look forward to read the next in this series.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Dax and Bailey. Bailey drove a few hours to visit her parents and while there, she met their neighbor Dax. Dax and Bailey have an instant attraction to each other, even though Dax was older. Bailey was working as a waitress in the city, but unsure what she wanted to do with her life. When Dax kissed Bailey, she knew he felt their connection. Bailey returned to visit her parents again and Dax was determined to make Bailey his, si he asked her to come visit him after her parents went to bed. Bailey knew if she went to Dax there would be no going back and she would belong to him, only things didn't go as they planned. This was a good older man/ younger woman romance. I liked Dax and think he really cared for Bailey. I think they were good together. Well done.

However, when she comes back to see her parents, she sees him again and he invites her over to his place. Its not long before they give into temptation. Dax knows that he wants to marry her but wonders if its too soon. What will her parents say about them being together? Can they get their happy ending?
This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Bailey and Dax. The story was easily to guess, taboo relationships, Dax was Bailey’s parents’ friend, they had age gap, but nothing can stop them falling in love.
“I want you, Dax,” I whisper.
“I want you, too, sweetness.” He kisses my lips. “I want to fucking marry you.”
My eyes widen. My heart skips a beat. Two beats, actually. He didn’t really just say that, did he?
“What?” I gasp.
“I said I want to marry you.” Dax moves his kisses to the other side of my neck and I let my cheek drop to the side. I feel like I’m in a dream.
Sweet and quick read, I just feel the feelings of them were too quick, and a little bit in a rush, I wanted more plots to convince me about their feelings.

DAX is the first installment in a series of short stories penned by Kate Hunt for her BBW romantic series, Big Hot Alphas. This is a love-at-first sight romance that chronicles the romantic journey of Bailey and Dax. She is the daughter of his neighbors. He is a woodworker, who specializes in making dining room tables. There is a chemistry between these two that Ms. Hunt captures quite well. In this age-gap romance Ms. Hunt creates two dynamic main characters that are multi-dimensional. Her supporting characters are also well-developed. This character-driven plot is fast paced. I enjoyed the vivid descriptions that drew readers into each scene. If you enjoy this genre, then I highly recommend this book.

There's also an instant attraction when they meet at her parent's. It's brighter than the fires, from the firepit, in the backyard. Their long talk after her parents go off to bed, that first night they meet, ends with a kiss.
This experience leaves them both wanting, hoping, and wondering. A love story, that happens, extremely fast. I did enjoy it though, for a feel-good piece

This was a great story by Kate Hunt. I loved every minute of it. I didn't want it to end. I loved the interactions between Dax and Bailey.

I think I should have read the blurb more carefully. This is instalove, and, sometimes I can take it, but after one conversation he wants to MARRY her? Plus, I think it's worse because we don't get to hear any of the conversation. We're just told that they had a conversation, but we didn't get to see them connecting or getting to know each other. This makes it very hard to understand why they would have fallen for each other within the span of an hour or so or what they saw in each other that was so attractive. This book has no substance.

Dax is a woodworker and a mountain man and a sweet, caring and good man. Bailey is a working hard kind of girl, a good daughter and a good friend. They talk until they kiss and they kiss until they fall in love. This book is so heart warming that I kept sighing even after finishing the epilogue. I will definetly look for more books from that series.

Knowing what you want! This is about Dax and Bailey. Bailey met Dax when she visited her family and that was it for Dax, but nothing except for a kiss happened that day. It wasn't until her second visit that things changed not only for Dax and Bailey but also for her parents. It was a great story, love the ending, especially with Bear in it!.

I think Dax may be my new favorite mountain man! He instantly connects with Bailey, the daughter of his neighbors/friends. The connection is mutual, intense, and steamy. Dax and Bailey together make a fantastic couple! I loved how alpha male but doting lover Dax turned out to be! What a spicy combination!! Their story is a quick read and I enjoyed every second of it. I definitely recommend reading this book.

I loved Bailey’s and Dax’s story so if you’re looking for a quick, fun and sexy read then this is the book for you, it’s an older man younger woman/ mountain man/ curvy woman story and I loved it but sorry guys no spoilers. Fantastic story I loved these characters it’s very well written with a fantastic storyline and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This is an older man/younger woman steamy novella. Dax and Bailey have an instant connection and even though they try to stay away from each other, their attraction to each other is too strong. This is a short, steamy read and I look forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Sweet relatively tame read. Writing felt a bit amateurish but it didn’t have any glaring grammatical or editing problems. It was a quick sweet read that I finished completely in the time it took me to have a quick bubble bath. It wasn’t anything new or life changing but it was an enjoyable before bed read.

What a lovely story. It is well written and it just flows. They both knew from the moment they met, that it wasn’t like anything else, and totally unexpected. The next meeting, oh yeah, it was breathtaking, and only got better from there. A super sweet HEA, wraps up this instant forever kind of love.

I loved it
Ok so Kate Hunt is a first time read for me. I loved Dax and Bailey's story. I was sucked in from the first word. I love these types of books. The chemistry and physical attraction is off the charts. Dax is super sexy. I love he's older. Then Bailey is just a doll. I can't wait to read more.

This was a cute age gap romance. The storyline was sweet and entertaining, and I really enjoyed the description of their first meeting, it was just such a sweet meet cute. The chemistry between Dax and Bailey was great and I really liked the story.

This was an enjoyable read. Bailey’s parents have moved to the mountains and their neighbor, Dax, is drawn to Bailey. Bailey is also drawn to Dax. This was a short read but full of adventure!
