'ONCE A MYTH' is the first full length dark|romance book in Pepper Winter's 'Goddess Isles' series. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'

WTF! Did I just read! This was so wrong in so many ways, but like a train wreck derailing I couldn’t stop reading, my heart and mind at war against the other!
Hate him, break him, fight him, love him.
And then that ending god!! Wtf was that!?! Who was that!?!

Dear readers, Pepper Winters is about to take you on one of the craziest, dirtiest, hottest adventures you have ever experienced! I've never read a story like this before… it was a new level of "forbidden" – seductive, intense and sexy. 😋💥

I'm giving all the stars in this universe for this book!!!

Pepper, my Queen. You rocked my world. I cannot wait to read more... :D

I gulped and shook my head, trying to prevent his mouth from claiming mine.
“Why me? Why not them?”
“That’s a question I keep asking myself,”he muttered, brushing his nose on mine. His eyes bored deep into me, so close, so vivid. “Why you?”
Jerking me nearer, until our entire bodies pressed tight, his lips skated on mine.

Compelling Captive Romance - Sex slaves with a twist!

I like captive romance stories for some reason but I always really want the captive heroine to one-up the guy holding her captive. I especially want her to get away, and the heroine does usually get away, but I want her to get away more than once. I want her to keep beating him at his own game, but generally she has to sit back and take it more often than not. The heroine eventually falls for him and he her, but I don’t know, I think I just wa

One word: ADDICTIVE!
This author never disappointed in delivering a gripping , addictive and delicious read. I am hooked and I this is too tame said...I crave the next book ! This was so unpredictable and unexpected and "unputdownable".

Eleanor Grace is abducted by human traffickers when back-packing with her boyfriend and sold to Sullivan Sinclair to be a "goddess" on his island, where he rules with an iron fist.

... At last, I fucking survived the dark, dirty and dangerous ride of Eleanor and Sullivan.

I couldn't think of words to write. Damn cliffhanger, badass Eleanor, fucking Sully ... don't blame me, I loved to hate this book! Still, I'm going to read the whole series. I just loved the story!

So, that's it ... if you trust me if I say this is an out of the ordinary dark romance, then you better read this.

Note: This is a dark, abduction romance ... that ends on a cliffhanger.
I don’t know why it’s been so long since I’ve read a Pepper Winters book! The stories I have read of hers I have always enjoyed! She does dark really well!

In this first instalment of this series, I have quickly become engrossed in this fantasy world... this has been a wonderful introduction to an island where inhibitions stay at the door. It seems I am beginning to have more questions than answers at this point, but I’m definitely intrigued with what’s to come.

I am getting frustrated with Sully

Intoxicating and succulent start to, what will definitely be a passionately addictive story. The first book has set the stage for some heavy breathing, pulse pounding tale of roiling emotions which are her trademark. Topped with in-depth look at a bigger motive to make the world a better place, this series is sure to be a Runaway hit

The worst thing to ever happen to me?
Being stolen, sold, and gifted. Being delivered to a man who isn’t just a man, but a monster.
Being told I now belong to him.
How did I survive it?
I guess I’ll have to fight and find out…

Here comes my moral dilemma.

*My morals are screaming at me because this book is a product of a sensitive and very real matter, ''human trafficking''.
*So I can't call it a romance. Instead, I am choosing to call it dark fantasy, dark erotica, or only DARK.

**** Solid 4 Stars ****

It's been a while since I last read a book and thought:

A secret island.

A very lucrative illegal business.

An elixir that alters a woman libido, making them lascivious and indecent to cater to influential and powerful clients their most depraved and dirties desires.

An anti-hero.

Got the memo, right? Not a Romance.

It's definitely not life-changing but it's very entertaining, sufficient to say I went to bed at 4 am because I couldn't put this down.

Sullivan Sinclair is Pepper Winters best anti hero ever! EVER!! Yes I went there, I said it! I’m so intrigued by him. Just when I thought there was no beating Q, along comes Sully. His intelligence is both a turn on and a scary thing. I’m not confident that I know him well enough to trust him and his actions. And I really like that. I like been kept on my toes and not knowing how he’s going to react. I wanted to dislike him (I really did) but that’s obviously not what happened. He has this untou ...more

One of my favorite dark authors has done it again!!! While backpacking with my boyfriend in Mexico, I was stolen and captive by sex-traffickers. What I love also is seeing old characters Tess showed up in this book while Eleanor was in captivity. Stolen and held captive until sold to the highest bidder, However my new owner lives on his own island paradise but little do Eleanor know she was a special request that this paradise never thought he would come across but here I am stepping into his oa ...more

“There was something...something ruthless and savage about him. Something instinctual that sensed predator from prey and firmly put him in the category of dangerous. But beneath that savage suaveness, something smoothed the merciless edges, granting a strange kind of enigma. Cold and hot. Immune and unprotected. He wasn’t as invincible as he appeared.”

What did I just have the privilege of reading !!!!
I am gobsmacked with the cleverness of Pepper Winters and how she creates wondrous stories from unforgiving brutality and loss.

Pepper has created the most sinful anti hero yet. Sully Sinclair oozes power and control. His beauty is a bonus that’s work wonders with his delicious charm but it’s his intelligence that scares the living days out of me. His island is an enticement of dark desires colliding with fantasies however for the delectable Elea

To say I consumed this book is trite and underwhelming. But yeah, I consumed it and greedily dove into the next book.
Fresh, original, and irresistibly captivating, this is a romance reader's paradise.
Don't read this book unless you're prepared to be engrossed, gobsmacked, turned-on, and utterly obliterated by the magical prose of Pepper Winters.

There is something about Pepper's writing that just consumes me while I'm reading. Her attention to detail is spectacular, and the depth of this story just blew me away. This is the stuff that makes a book so much more than what it is.

I don't think Pepper could have given me a better Christmas present than this book. It's everything I wanted from her, and then some.

The angst of this story is my favorite part. I love that this is more slow burn romance, and that she didn't just throw them togeth

She is BACK people and let me tell you, she is covered in that delicious darkness that made me first fall in love with her incredibly twisted and talented world of words

You know I knew when I pick up Miss Wonters book, I was expecting this twisted and dark theme. A kidnapping usuallh involved. In her other books the heros has knight in the shinning armour quality.

In Once a Myth, I hav difficult time connecting with Sully. He is the anti hero in this story. He is presented to me to me to me to be brutal, unforgiving, dark and twisted. And yet I am annoyed with him. As we know Miss Peppers always reveal the final plot at the end. This bool ends in cliffhanger.

" But this one… she’d been tailored for me. Her body already wore my mark. Her heart already stuttered for me to snatch her, mount her, fuck her until we both either entered the Kingdom of Heaven or plummeted to the Gates of Hell. “

This book turned out to be VERY different from what I was expecting. At first I wasn’t feeling it because I’m kind of tired of the interconnected storyline & the sold into slavery trope. I wanted something new and different from Pepper.

Then I got to 20% of this and I

WOW! What a way to start a series. The story was paced well and grabs you from page one and holds you to read, one more chapter, of Sully and Eleonor's story. It's captivating. The author weaves the story through the eyes of the main characters and I can't wait to know more about them as the series progresses. The story is well written and I enjoyed it immensely. Ms. Winters's new series is quite addicting. I would recommend it. And now, I'm going to read my way through the entire series I belie

Reading Once a Myth let me know that the Queen of dark romance is baaaaackkkk! Eleanor was backpacking the world with her boyfriend of five months. And how would she survive?

I couldn’t connect with the characters, the plot, the storyline. Nothing...
The concept was intriguing and interesting but the execution was tiring and didn’t work out for me.
There were plenty of issues that didn’t thrill me. And all this graphic description of Eleanor’s sexual torture that resulted from the elixir Sullivan gave her, was too far fetched... No,
