Lily Java didn't take the easy route to storytelling with this Blank Pages duet. This is no cookie-cutter love and redemption story. This is a tale of life lessons, failings, faith and resilience, as Ethan and Serena journey through loss, heartache and forgiveness on their way back to each other.

Again, Lily's writing is real, gorgeous and layered, and this is a worthy conclusion to Ethan's Choice—and some of her best work yet.

A Powerful Conclusion for Serena and Ethan

A Powerful Conclusion is an understatement. Serena was a force of nature in this story, and Ethan was her kryptonite. Getting the chance to understand the genuine love Ethan had for his family, and the reasons why he had to leave them were profound. The story had emotional moments where I wanted to root hard for Ethan, and pray that he would come for his family soon. Elliott wanted his father in his life, even when he acted otherwise. Little Laura helped

I’m happy with the way this book ended but ... I’m with Elliott , I don’t get Ethans reasons why he took so long ....😒And I had issues with him because of it . I also didn’t get Serena’s reasoning either , but I know first hand parents aren’t as perfect as we want to be and we’re making decisions with are hearts not our minds sometimes . So these two imperfect people made a story that I was happy to read .

At last!

This book took me through a range of emotions hopefully anticipating the reunion of Serena and Ethan. I'm super appreciative to Lily Java for allowing the characters to age realistically and address the issues/challenges/conditions that accompany getting older. Sometimes timing isn't perfect and do have to put in the "work" to get your ish together to pursue your interests.

This story (along with Ethan's Choice) is definitely the best novel(s) I've read this year.
I am so glad Lily Java did not keep us waiting a long time to enjoy the rest of this couple's epic love story. Will and Avra didn't stand a chance (and that broke my heart) but real love cannot be denied. My favorite characters were Eddie and Paris. Loved this story!
I loved going on this journey...

Both Ethan and Serena's stories were great. I loved going on this journey with them. I do think of how much time they wasted being apart. But, their love endured.

just WOW

I dislike that the series came to an end however perfect it was. If you read Blackbirds, I recommend reading about Ell’s parents Ethan and Serena! Admittedly, I reread Blackbirds in between the two books. Lily nailed the flow/overlapping/storytelling‼️

Wonderful work

Well, that was a beautiful journey we were taken on and I loved every minute. So nice to see that love can stand the test of time.

Just finished Serena's Vow which I must say was the best read in quite a while. This book just reminded me so much of my growing up in the Bronx and brings back the best memories. I can truly relate to Serena's feelings about her first love. Ethan went through so much to get back to her and learn to be a better man for her. Don't we all wish the man in our lives have that experience without making stupid decisions early on. Thanks Lily for such a well told story. Please don't make us wait to lon ...more
