Cleo Wright is just a happy scammer on a mission to rob a rich man before his ex-wife or the federal government seize all of his money and possessions. She's not expecting to meet another rich man who makes her want to use her nimble fingers for other, not thieving, things. But Robert Shimizu is just that man.

The two share a night of fast cars, expensive champagne and th

I stayed up way too late reading this and I do not regret it; it was unputdownable and I loved every moment.

4.5 Bright stars!

I have been in a SERIOUS Contemporary Romance slump. My DNF pile is higher than the TBR at this point, which had been making me sad AF. So Ms. Jackson had the deck stacked against her going into this. It was going to take A LOT, and I mean A LOT for me to finish a CR, but guess what? She did it. I read this whole damn thing over the course of three nights before bed and I loved it.

What was to love?
A take no prisoners, non apologetic, strong woman who is also a criminal.

So good! I absolutely adored Robert (and Cleo), I'm very excited to check more by Katrina Jackson but I have this feeling that this will still be my favorite.

I loved everything about this novella, especially Cleo and how brash and bold she is, willing to use her body and sexuality and smarts to con rich white men, but always protecting her heart and her crew, including her little sister. But one scorching hot night she just can't resist, and while it may be out of character, Jackson makes it clear why Robert Shimizu is totally worth it. Not just because he's smoking hot, but because she senses he sees something in her, a potential for more than just ...more
I have a weird co-dependent relationship with Twitter. I want to, but can never seem to, quit lurking there. That's how I discovered author Katrina Jackson and this spicy nugget of a BWAM romance. I'm glad I stumbled across this filthy little gem because I was beginning to believe there were no sexy Asian romance heros left in KU. So happy I stayed in KU if only for the filthy fun that was Cleo messing with Robert Shimizu.
The tall Asian man’s long hair reached just past his shoulders and the fai
Nothing like an amazingly self-assured grifter to keep you company on a sleepless night. Gosh I loved this story, the perfect blend of fun, fast banter, and fucks. Heist romances are hard to come by and Grand Theft N.Y.E. did not disappoint.

For being such a quick read, Jackson fills each of her characters with amazing depth and I hope we get to meet up with Chloe and Robert Shimizu in future works.

Slight spoiler alert, for fans of The Pink Slip, you'll meet some friends...

When I read the synopsis when this book was first announced I knew I had to read it. I love heists, I love bad girls, I love sexy books. So like, trifecta. Add in a smoking hot alpha male (inspired by on Keanu Reeves?) and this book could never disappoint me. I expect I'll be rereading it next NYE too. ...more

What a perfect way to spend my New Year’s Eve eve.

It was a delightful wild ride. I’m excited at the idea of more books in the world. It’s steamy and well written.

The entire set up is banana pants in the best way. Highly recommend!
I love a gleeful heist novel. This was all kinds of fun.

Y'all already know that I go into books blind. I absolutely love following Katrina on twitter, so when she put out the call for reviewers I ran so fast to join the line. I have already purchased Neighborly from her and plan to read that next and I'm going back into Pink Slip series by her to get some more info about the trio in the end but I'm getting ahead of myself. First, I want to thank Katrina for having a content warning at the beginning because

I Loved this Short and sexy.
To see Cloe a 5'10 black woman confident in her own skin and owning the room while scamming people; that was pleasing to all my senses.
And yes the sex scenes are freaking hot! I recommend this for a quick read.

Hot, suspenseful & fun

I have to say, while the ending was a little soft, this book really got me in the chest.

Cleo is a part of a con artist gang that does elaborate heists. Robert is a security manager that protects high priced items.

Their meet-lust is electrifying. I swallowed up their attraction with all the emotions. I don’t know if I’m just hormonal or what. Cleo and Robert just had IT for me.

I have come to love how Katrina writes her characters. They’re sexy, bold and push boundaries. O

This is another winner from Talia Hibbert’s opposites attract list. Cleo is a gifted grifter looking to relieve rich men of their financial burdens. Robert is rich, super controlled and in her way.

This book is HOT. Really dirty in the best ways. Romance and heists are two of my favorite types of stories and they really don’t crossover that much, so this was hitting a sweet spot I didn’t even know I wanted it too. This book is also delightfully funny, both in Cleos private thoughts and the

What I want more of in the world is heist stories. If I can get my criminals with hearts more golden than not, stealing from bad people and then indulging in sexy interludes, I would be even happier. Grand Theft, N.Y.E. brings us Chloe Wright and her team of thieves and grifters. Chloe is the leader and the distraction. She keeps all eyes on her while her team cleans out the mark. At party where she is supposed to be the distraction, Chloe is distracted by Robert, a good looking Asian American m ...more

I say this with complete seriousness, for a book that's almost entirely porn with just a smattering of story thrown it, there was a lot here. There's a clear sense of character and just enough plot to work within the novella format. Could this have been longer? Sure. Did it need to be? No, we got in, we got out, we got our points across, and goddamn did we get a lot of sex. Even a plot point that could have seemed like bullshit - we had one night together and we were fucking GONE for each other ...more

I loved pretty much all of this book outside of the sex. Of course, when reading erotica, liking the sex is pretty important! But basically everything about the heroine's personality worked for me. She was an extremely bougie scammer using grown men's horniness and arrogance to steal their money and valuables. She puts herself first in the mission and puts trust her team. And she has the hero so thunderstruck that he is willing to put his head-of-a-security-company instincts aside to have her an ...more

Oh Mr. Shimizu

I'm sure if you liked 50 Shades of Grey you would like this book, but I hate to tell you it's so much better. Cleo an international thief meeting her match with the very sexy Mr. Robert Shimizu. And you get a little cameo of the characters from Pink Slip. This novella was a good summer beach read for its steamy factor 😅

This is my least favorite trope and yet, somehow, Katrina Jackson made it work with her writing. I mean, I still don’t like it, but I appreciated her writing so much.

Cleo is so confident and knows what she wants, she does what she wants and Robert is just... I mean oh my my, let’s just say I don’t hate him, at all.

Besides, the social criticisms at the beginning? Loved it.

Firstly, I think I understand that I like erotic contemporary romances, but not a contemporary romance. That aside: This did not go how I thought it would go. It was funny and sexy, and wow. I didn't see that ending coming. I'm excited to continue on in the series.

Katrina Jackson is one of my go-tos for body-positive, sex-positive, thigh-clenching, self-care smut. Private Eye is still probably my fav, but this was quick, enjoyable, and just what I needed.

This is a perfect heist romance. I absolutely love Cleo, and Robert is obsessed with her in the best, most normal-for-the-situation way.
