In the finale, everything is coming to an end with the crew. After being married for just a month, Myeisha has found out what her husband has been up to. With two children and one on the way, she has a lot of decisions to make. Including, if she’s going to reconcile with her husband, or file for divorce. If that’s not enough, she’s missing Rucka and wants to now make things right with him. Will Rucka hear her out? Or will he tell her to kick rocks? Even with her being in love with him, she refuses to end up like her twin sister. When Teck starts bringing a new chick around, Maliah starts feeling something she has never felt before; jealousy. Will she break down and reveal her true feelings to Teck? Or will she allow Teck to move on with a woman she knows is no good for him? Mirror has an important decision to make. Will she have her baby in Dubai, or will she fight Orlan to have their baby in America? If that’s not enough, Hudson’s messy life starts to spill into she and Orlan’s life. Will Orlan and Hudson’s friendship end? Or will Orlan put Hudson before Mirror? Ronnie is not going to lay down and accept a divorce. She’s going to fight tooth and nail for her marriage, even if her husband wants nothing to do with her. What happens when Hudson finally finds out who her baby’s dad really is? In the finale to this series, everyone is fighting with their own demons. Some overcome, and some lose a piece of themselves during the process. Get ready for the finale ride from the crew. Grab your toll, and cross that bridge for the final ride into Staten Island.
This was a reallly good conclusion to the series buttt…. to me, the twist with Mariah didn’t really make sense and felt a bit left field- I still don’t get the rationale or need for that twist and it felt more for shock value than for plot sense- which is fine, but definitely a choice (that my HEA-obsessed self did like don’t get me wrong). I think across the series the character development was strong and even and although I didn’t necessarily like the characters, I found them compelling and didn’t want to stop reading about them. I think this final book in the series wrapped up everyone’s lives as well as it could have been wrapped up and overall, I enjoyed the series.
Jahquel just knew to write that lil note in the beginning stating not to ask for a spinoff because that's exactly what I wanted to do lol. Man when I tell you when I seen Trac name for a minute I thought it was an era but once I continued reading I was like Jahquel is a fu#$ing genius the way she handle that situation. I felt bad for Kiss and her situation but glad she's getting back to herself slowly. I loved Mirror and Orlan together, they were made for each other. I'm not going to lie Myeisha was get on my nerves until pretty much the ending but she did get a reality check and took ownership to her faults, Rucka came home and manned up in a major way and the only thing you could do is respect it. Maliah got her ish together and got the love of her life back and I was happy about that. I loved this series Jahquel did a great job and I surely can't wait to see what the next series has in store for us.
You truly are an amazing writer.. This Staten Island series has been nothing short of phenomenal. You have your readers just what they wanted and succeeded. Great Job
This was good. I enjoyed most of the characters and was rooting for them to find their HEA. Some characters worked my nerves with their choices. But figured it out in the end.
Myeisha and Rodger went thru their ups and downs emotional rollercoaster of love and life suitation. Myeisha went thru getting married to Lou caught him cheating on her with her sister Janay both of them were pregnant by him. Janay was so jealous of her sister Myeisha she wanted her life unfortunately it didn't work in her favor Lou didn't want anything to do with her are their son he moved to California. Myeisha filed for divorce and went and got therapy for herself. Rucka finally got to build a relationship with his son Kyle and is taking a break from a relationship from My My to enjoy just being around family. Mariah and Trac has been thru so much pain and emotional trauma. Trac and Mariah were shot and she thought the love of her life was dead and also she lose her twins. Mariah has gone thru the storm she finds out her husband faked is on death to get revenge for his wife and children they lose. She is a strong women I admired her strength and courage to do what you have to do. Liberty and Staten are still going strong expecting their first baby together a baby girl looking like him and his son Shaliom. Maliah and Teck are expecting their first baby together she having another boy. I'm glad Maliah and Trac got back together are working together to be come parents. Mirror and Orlan are doing great living in Dubai and have beautiful baby girl Lia Kiss and engage to be married. Ghost and Staten give them a house in the state for a wedding gift. Mina and Hudson are working thru their problems he is getting help for his drinking. Mina and Hudson are expecting their first child a baby girl just loving each other. Finally divorced from Ronnie and her toxic relationship and trifling ways. Hudson was losing himself to pain and hurt receive from Ronnie find out the babies she had were not his. Hudson refuse to be a father to his twin brother son Arika it was to painful. Kiss has been thru a tramarmatic experience it going to take some time to heal. Losing her friend Alyssa and been rape has changed her life .Reese is their to love her thru her pain and healing Reese and Kiss has moved in together with her son Zamari and the men who hurt are gone. Kiss is getting therapy and going back to college and getting support from her family and friends. I really loved this series I would love a spin-off too see how the couples are doing.
Is all of this really necessary for a scrub named Mouse?! Let’s not over do it. 🙄
You gone be BIG mad when Rucka gets to clapping them cheeks. 🤣😂
Not that’s Mouse’s baby mama!!! I figured Mouse was a YN. 🤔
I’m just saying…Mouse is a bum what are we (yes, I’m a part of this) going through all of this for to get at him? Seems dumb AF but imma let you finish.
Also….Myeshia IS stupid. 🤦🏾♀️
Don’t invite me on no damn trip to break up with me! We can do that stateside. TF!
That’s a wild gift that Uncle Manic gave Kiss. 🤣
Not we just had a feel good family murder moment. 🤔😂 I feel crazy cheering for this. 🤣
I stand by what I said. He didn’t have to do all of that to end that rat. Ease up my guy. 🙄
Jahquel pen game isn't a joke she is truly blessed. So happy Myeisha went on that retreat and started seeking the help she needed to grow and care for her three kids. When she decided to tell Kyle the truth a weight was lifted because he had already knew and accepted everything great. Hudson was betrayed so badly by a selfish Ronnie and his twin, but with medical help he is able to have his own kids. Lou and Janey and hee mother were just sick condoning everything Handy did not holding hee accountable to only have all hee secrets Aires out, they thought they were hurting Myeisha only to hurt themselves, Janey wanted hee sisters life but didn't want to put in the work, now she's about to have three kids no husband or baby daddy karma came back around and.got all that needed it. Enjoyed reading about these characters.
I feel as though I am late to this author, but I'm so glad I stumbled into this New York life. I have been hooked and running through these books like crazy. I love Jahquel's writing style. What she calls a slow burn is getting to know the characters and building a story that brings you in and gets you hooked.
I have to say that A Staten Island Love Affair is probably at the top of my favorite list of her catalog. I felt connected to so many of the characters. Shed real tears when something horrible happened. I was vested in the drama, cheating, and secrets.
This series was excellent! Filled with so much, Jah dealt with some heavy stuff in these books! Rape, infidelity, lies, death, addiction, murder, deceit, sibling rivalry, pregnancy, miscarriages, marriage, divorce, drug dealers, sex trafficking, it was all in here. In the end everyone got what they deserved! It was an excellent read, some grammatical errors throughout, as well as editing needed, but I really enjoyed it. Read all 9 books in 3 days. Jahquel J has an awesome gift of story telling, so glad I found her!
I don’t know if I agreed with Trac messing with Marisol but I understood he was on a mission. I’m glad Kids was able to get some comfort behind Mouse and B-Dubb demise, they truly got what they deserved. Mariah lost her twins and thought she had lost her man. Myeisha getting therapy was so needed because Rucka a good one, I don’t think I would have ever been able to speak to her again .
Maannnnnnnn, This book had me going through it. After I read the Love Letter series......... It was a good follow up with what was next with each couple and what was next. I would say keep going but Ms. Author Lady told us not to have her up here trying to keep a story going and it was at its end. LOL!! It was good. Jah been game is something serious. Cliffhanger Queen, ON to the next book...
This series was crazy all the famlies&friends was funny especially Mina's brothers felt bad for Miesha baby her father should have been pimp slapped 2x happy all bgg the couple's that got they happy ending who would have thought Tec was still alive great story now on to staten island love letters Messiah was one gangster Mom
Well I cried through most of this part. So much was going on with everbody so I couldn't help it. You would've thought I really knew these people. I like how Mouse and bdubb got handled. They deserved it. This was another must read by this author. She needs spellcheck bad though.
Awww I loved this ending for everyone. This story had plenty of twists and turns but I'm glad for the happy ending. I wonder if we can see if Ruckas and Myiesha reunite in the future maybe with a baby and wedding. I would love to read about that. This book is a definite banger and if your looking for something to keep you guessing then this is it.
This series was everything. I feel like I got my update on my favorites Messiah, Ghost, Staten, Liberty, Justice , Free and Priest. I love learning more about the younger generation. If you need a fix of your favorite characters and want to learn how spicy their children and younger siblings are this read is for you .
This entire series was well written. I liked to meet the additional characters along the old characters being added to the book. That was crazy about the whole Trac situation but it made the book interesting. Glad to finally find out who Marisol baby daddy was. Happy Priest and Justice finally got married.
Janay and her mother were pathetic. Let’s just start there. Myiesha was too slow to allow them to manipulate her. She needed to go through that hurt to find her strength. I was so glad. That all the couples got what they needed to heal.
Ruckus and Kyle…I was waiting for that to happen. I’m glad that went smoothly.
I loved these series, this series will make these people feel like your family. You are going to get it all in this series life, death, love, heartache and real legitimate love. I love this series 1000 Tim’s over
I loved this book it was everything from the beginning to the end. I hope that my girl Myeshia and Rucka can get back together though. I’m so happy for the twins they both deserve happiness
This whole series was the bomb! The way the author developed the characters was on point!! Bravo! I’m So glad Mouse got what was coming to him. Rucka was the GOAT the way he stepped up for Tei. Great Book.
Listennn Jah had me like WTH!!?!!!? 🤯🤯 This was a great series. The bombs and revelations that happen was crazy. She had me crying, laughing and so mad through this series, I'm glad it worked out in the end.
I truly enjoyed this series. Even though in book 3 I was heartbroken and book 4, Myeisha just tapped danced on my last nerves. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. It gave me all the emotions! Thank you for that.
This series had me in a chokehold! The suspense endings in all of them lead me to this point of completion! I am so glad that we have arrived to resolution. While I will miss these characters, can’t wait for the next series by Jahquel J.
Now this was a good way to end a series 🤗. We got closure for kiss and Myiesha when it came to the backlash that happened in book 3. Then we got some HEA for Mariah and Maliah😍.
This series held my attention from beginning to end. It was one of the best series I have read in a long time. The wrap up of everyone’s lives was as it should have been.
The last book of this series was beautifully written. I was nervous with all of the POV’s at first but everything came together perfectly. I enjoyed the ending from Rucka’s POV and I am content with his this journey ended. Per usual, thank you Jahquel!!!
I’m glad everything settled in the end… but I hate that Rucka still gave Myiesha a chance. She was so gutter to me and he deserved better but I guess the heart wants what it wants so there you go.
I love this entire series. It was very mind blowing, so many family secrets. I love this book and recommended it to my book club. I love your way of art keep the books coming
