Mindfulness at its best!
I loved EVERYTHING about this children's mindfulness book- the games, the order they were in, the calm it cultivated! It's absolutely stunning. The games are highly imaginative and super fun! They can be played alone or with others.
The book is split up into 5 sections with 10 various games for each.
• Chapter 1 Magic Breath (Breathing Techniques)
• Chapter 2 Spectacular Senses (Present Moment Mindfulness, Connecting to the Senses, Grounding Techniques)

Dealing with emotions is big thing today. Educational studies show that learning is increased when children are able to cope with their changing emotions. This book is for both parent and child and starts at a young age. Each activity is a game that helps calm your body and identify your emotions. It starts with learning to breath so many of the games are foundational in learning to breath. Breathing helps you emotionally and physically so learning to breath is important. Deep breath and exhales

Callisto Media/Rockridge Press was kind enough to send me a copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review.
From the publisher, as I do not repeat the contents or story of books in reviews, I let them do it as they do it better than I do 😸.

I like the authors dedication, “To children everywhere – I hope you can use your superpower of focusing on the now to enjoy life and help others, and use your strengths and talents to make the world a better place!”
I hadn’t a clue as to what mindful meant so I appreciated the authors definition, “is the ability to practice, maintain awareness in the present moment by nonjudgmentally noticing thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations: It is paying attention on purpose. Awareness is the foundation ...more

This book has easy and fun games and meditations for children that helps them to navigate tough emotions, calm their impatience, and learn to listen. The activities are grouped in categories for focusing on the breath, the senses, the body, and on gentle thoughts and calm emotions.
Each game has a cute illustration that demonstrates the imaginary things we are thinking of during the meditation. One meditation says to imagine that you are a mountain, standing tall as you raise your arms above your ...more

This book is perfect for caregivers, teachers, parents, grandparents, homeschoolers...you name it. Any child will benefit from these quick, fun games. I love that it takes the concept of emotional intelligence and mindfulness and incorporates them into themed mini-games.
The book is separated into 5 chapters: Breath, Senses, Thoughts, Emotions, and Body. Each chapter contains 10 games that coordinate with the theme of the chapter. The individual games have a picture that either illustrates the g ...more

This is a great resource for teachers and parents alike. Although marketed for kids ages 4-8, this can be adapted for any elementary age. There are five chapters with a total of 50 exercises. The average exercise is about five minutes in length. Colorful drawings illustrating the poses and techniques accompany each exercise. As a classroom teacher, I would most likely not use the exercises that requires drawing or sketching as this may be a dexterity challenge for some of students and it will ce

This is a lovely book full of activities to help children quiet their minds, stay present, and find peace. While the description notes this book is for kids, ages four to eight, I think it would probably be better suited for the older end of that spectrum and even into the pre-teens because there is a lot of text that would have to be read in order to complete the exercises, and words that might be difficult for the younger children. The illustrations done by Kelsey Buzzell are absolutely beauti

This book is amazing!!! Not only are the games/lessons so easy to follow and execute - my kids think we just playing. It’s perfect for ages 3-8 and the book is easy to follow. Each chapter is divided by either breathing exercises, emotions, thoughts, body practices etc. I especially recommend this book to autistic kids like my daughter. It really creates a safe place for her to learn how to exercise her emotions. Thank you NetGalley for this review is honest review by myself.

This book is wonderful. It helps children identify their emotions and be mindful through easy exercises for them and the whole family. I really enjoyed doing these exercises with my 8 and 9 year old sons. I found these exercises helpful on days when things can be a little overwhelming.
I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy free of charge. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of it.

Wow. What an AMAZING resource for parents, educators, and children. Each activity is described clearly with connections to why this activity is beneficial. There are five categories-ranging from breathing activities to connection to our bodies-and lovely illustrations accompany each. This text is chockful of activities guaranteed to engage children fully. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

This book is an excellent resource for teachers. It is giving educators the tools to create a mindful space, where you can clean your mind and body. I felt like the exercises were easy to follow and really helped the participant with their well being. I will be using some of these exercises in the future with my students.

This book is really awesome as a learning aid! The book is written for children to help them learn to concentrate and deal with emotions. I enjoyed working thru it with my grand-kids and the book is easy to follow with great illustrations that are really cute.
I highly recommend this book!

I would love to use this book with kids and maybe pair as many activities as I can with books. Like a rainbow book for blowing a rainbow. Things that can connect the idea and practice to a happy memory that encourages kids to use the strategies or “games” when they need to. I look forward to adding this to our library and SEL collection. MindfulGamesForKids #NetGalley
