A unique blend of YA Fantasy and Post-Apocalyptic Sci-Fi, Power Divided is a heartwarming tale of love, courage and determination and above all, acceptance and forgiveness.

The blurb will give you a pretty good idea of what this tale is about. But it doesn't tell you what to expect. Here's a little hint. :)

- a great female lead to root for - check
- awesome powers - check
- edge of the seat action and adventure - double check
- unique and fascinating characters complete with an absolutely adorable

During the last month, I had felt every emotion. Experienced the terrifying, the unbelievable, the amazing. But I realized I couldn’t let this hatred win. Because in the rush of life that pulled me into its torrid, churning waves, I’d found myself, friends, and acceptance. I had nothing left to fear....

This book was awesome..
The progress was a bit slow in the first chapters but it turned out to be really amazing.
This story had the kind of fantasy I was thinking about when I was young.
Sad Sunday (If I say it's bad, it's bad)
Received this book form the author for a honest review. Thank you!

You know me and YA. Make a slip into the abyss of dresses, princes, selections, castles, spoiled special-snowflakes, extra X-Men inspired heroes and I will roll my eyes like thunder. So, a warning - there were some things that weren't very appealing to me but it's a solid YA fantasy for the fans of the genre with a few unique twists and turns that makes it stand out.

I liked the Sci-Fi approach of it. It's kinda futuristic world wi

Ms. Behr has written a captivating story in a bold, magical world that grabs you from the start. 16-year-old Violet begins in despair but soon finds herself on an adventure of knowledge that will eventually bring her back home. But will her life ever be the same? I highly recommend this to any fans of fantasy!

This month has been SO HARD for me and reading! I honestly don’t know why. I have more time than ever now to read due to some things going on at home… But, I just keep getting distracted.

But, I can say that picking up Power Divided was not a chore, however!

From just reading the synopsis given by the author, I don’t think I had a firm grasp on what this story was going to entail. I knew that it would be sci-fi at the core, but really no more than that.
I have to say, it looks like a long book

Privileged enough to get an advance copy of Power Divided! ;) Great coming-of-age story, set in the far future but rings true in the present. Interesting and likeable imperfect main characters who grapple with what their place in the world is and could be, what their higher purpose within a new set of rules that involves human beings that adapted and emerged after a long Ice Age. A divided world of near Utopia versus groups of other humans struggling to eat and live. Just enough humor sprinkled ...more

'Power Divided by S. Behr' is a young adult fantasy novel. I have read quite a few fantasy and YA books. And a few blending both of this genre. When I read the synopsis of this book, I felt a mind twist. I read it like thrice. But Glad the author has written it with utmost simplicity. Usually, I talk about writing and narration structure at the end of my review, but the author has impressed me with her simplicity in describing the futuristic world-building. The post-apocalyptic setting of the no ...more

I absolutely loved every second of this book. You are immediately pulled into the action from page one! I loved following Violet and her friends (and family) through this coming of age story in a futuristic universe of magic, power, and suspense. The writing keeps you engaged in the action and you really feel like you are right there unfolding the secrets of her world, the worlds surrounding them and their fight to protect the planet. There are few books that you can truly close your eyes and pi ...more
When I received this book from S.Behr I was absolutely ecstatic about it. I was immediately sucked into the story. The book can be considered two genres, well at least to me. It was sci-fi, but definitely has some YA fantasy elements to it. It also has futuristic elements to it, especially when it has a character that is an AI named Hailey. The book started off very fast paced and full of action. The book shows you the beginnings of Violet's self discovery, especially about some very special and ...more

This is NOT your typical post-apocalyptic YA and you'll be so thrilled it isn't!

This debut book for S. Behr is beyond inspirational for all ages, but especially for teens. From the characters to the story line and everything in between, there is so much meat in here you'll want to read it again and again. I know I'll be reading Power Divided a third time before immersing myself in Book 2 as soon as it's available.

I absolutely loved this story. It is not your typical story set in the future. Following violet on her journey to find herself and her place in her world was so much fun. It was exciting and moving. The characters were more than likeable, they were like old friends. A strong princess willing to do whatever it takes for her family and people. A snarky a.i. Helping her and adding commentary every step of the way was just an added bonus. This books was smooth to read and never a dull moment. I can ...more

After reading the first paragraph, I sensed I was in for a smooth ride. It was my first time reading a YA Sci-Fiction and this piece has made me fall in love with the genre. I currently have purchased two more books in the same genre.

Every scene in Power Divided contributes to the overall perfection in a twisted manner. I try to make predictions as I read but it was never easy doing so for this book. I've recommended it to friends.

This book begins at a brisk and extreme quick pace.

Violet's transitioning trial of her forces goes astray, making her lethally wound her own dad. With numerous books that start so relentless, things regularly swing back the other way and end up intolerably moderate, however that was not in any manner the case here. The plot remains brimming with interest and activity from beginning to end. The writer works admirably on gripping the reader and keeping them intrigued well till the last page. Viol

✍🏻POWER DIVIDED is an entertaining combination of Young Adult Fantasy and Post-Apocalyptic Science Fiction.

Power Divided by S. Behr is the first book in her new YA fantasy The Evolutionaries series. This is a new author for me, and I was pleasantly surprised how much I did enjoy Power Divided. The story starts with a bang, as our heroine, Violet, who is the princess of Neyr (part of the Nine Realms of Amera), has to show her unique abilties, when everything goes haywire and her father lies mortally wounded. Amerans have many extraordinary abilities, such as flying in air, able to live under water, ab ...more

This book really surprised me! When starting it, I went in with the notion that every fantasy book had already been written; no way that this one would be different from the ones I have already read. In just a few pages, I was proven wrong. The first quarter of the book in itself contains more of a story than plenty of other books do in their entirety. Whenever I thought we were nearing the end of the story, another twist came up. This is the type of book that can only be the start of a series - ...more

This book receives a 4.5 rating from me.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review, and in all honesty, it was a wonderful start to Violets journey of growth and self discovery. The story starts off very fast paced with an event that immediately draws you in wondering what the outcome may have been. This event is the catalyst to Violet beginning to learn many secrets about herself and her world.

Amera has an elected monarchy, different monarchs for each of the nine realms and Violet is the Princess of Neyr. She’s been kept out of the eye of the public, her parents gave her as much privacy and safety as their position allows but there are things that not even a Princess can avoid, and so the day has arrived for her to show her powers and that’s where we meet Violet. During that ceremony.

And during that ceremony is where Violet seems to have killed

Personally, if there’s something that instantly gets my heart is a good dystopian book. Now, mix it with a pinch of YA fantasy and a twist of Sci-Fi and you’ll get a book that will grab the attention during every awake hour (and not only!) of everyone.
And that’s the definition of Power Divided.
Since the minute you start, you automatically find yourself besides the protagonist, Princess Violet, taking down all the obstacles that appear along the way. The fast pace during all the adventure is li

Thanks to the author for sending me a copy of this book to review! As a fan of dystopian literature with awesome female leads, this was right in my wheelhouse. I’m also very much a character reader, and Behr created characters who were spot on. Her writing style is fluid, easy to jump into, and just detailed enough that you can really escape into this world.

Though the book shifts gears about halfway through, I was also impressed with the pacing

Enjoyed reading the book thoroughly,it was like going on mini vacation after work with the protagonist in the story. How the protagonist struggles to find her place and realize her true potential which pretty much we all do in our life.
This book offers you the emotion and feeling of watching thriling sci-fi movie with twist and turn in protagonist life .
I would definitely read it again in my vacation to reexperience the story.

I loved S. Behr’s vision of a fantasy-based post-apocalyptic world. Ancient metal towers merging with nature, powers known and unknown, and a secret doorway into memories of the past. I was hooked, and I can’t wait for the sequel!

I absolutely love the world building in this book. It is so detailed and for a fantasy lover that is one of the things that makes a great book. From the first page I was hooked. I loved seeing violet grow and see her powers develop. I got a hard cover and it is a gorgeous book. I love the map that is included. Can’t wait for the next.
Power Divided is the first book in the young adult science fiction series The Evolutionaries by S. Behr. I will admit that I don't love the cover of this book, but I did really enjoy the book itself. I love a good story, in all artforms. I have been a professional photographer for nearly 20 years and I had to learn to tell a story with a click of a button and capture the layers of emotion in a single image. Little did I know it was boot camp for writing.

Being an author was a childhood dream and as I got older it seemed to be a dream that grew further out of reach with each passing year. But wi
