This is the third story in this series, and while I have not read the earlier books, I didn't feel lost as the author did a good job providing enough information about the other couples without getting too detailed; thus, this could easily be read as a stand alone.

Graeme Kendrick is on the job for his friend/mentor/in-law that works for the king on special missions, and in this case, he is on the trail of a thief who targets the wealthy by stealing jewels a
If you want to read a book about an inept spy who is constantly demanding a woman do everything he says, well then this is the book for you. For everyone else, skip this. It's like 50% focused on the very extended family of Clan Kendrick (which gets old fast), 25% focused on a plot that goes nowhere, and 25% focused on a 'romance' that is completely unbelievable and I did not root for. Oh and the heroine isn't much better than the hero - she's constantly doing dumb things. ...more
I am going to recommend this series gets read in order. I think it would improve the story. I did read book 2, but not book 1. And in book 2 I was so overwhelmed with all the characters and who was who and what happened when. I didn't know what was review or what was new tidbits of character stories you were just getting to see...Anyway this one isn't as bad as I remember book 2 being. It's pretty easy to figure out who is who and what is going on. Still. A LOT of characters.

Sabrina meets Graem
Those captivating Kendricks!

“Och, don’t fash yourself," those Kendrick lads and their lasses are back! This time it's twin Graeme who meets his match. Such a simple thing really. Singularly pursuing a band of organized robbers, Graeme is tracking down his mark along the banks of the Serpentine River, in the rain. Naturally! Sighting a lady in the early morning, seemingly waiting for someone, Graeme's further discomposed when his mark veers off and attempts to grab the lady's reticule. His mark's

Really loved this one. There was a lot going on in addition to the romance, some mystery and a fast oaced plot, but the romance really felt front and center here throughout it.

Lady Sabrina Bell meets Graeme Kendrick when he fishes her out of the Serpentine one morning in Hyde Park. He's supposed to be catching a thief - in fact, he has very specific orders to do just that. Instead he's getting distracted by a very stubborn, daring, and oftentimes too brave for her own good woman. Getting involved with her is bound to lead to trouble, but what choice does he have when she obviously needs protecting, if only from herself? What follows involves a series of villains, a tr ...more

Lady Sabrina Bell is having a rather embarrassing day. She finds herself stood up in the park by her potential beau, robbed, and pushed into the Serpentine by a thief, then rescued by a gruff Highlander. The giant of a man also just happens to be the most attractive man Sabrina has ever met. He also seems to be around every time she finds herself in trouble, when Sabrina visits Edinburgh as a member of King George's entourage, Graeme Kendrick is there too, keeping her safe but tempting

Oh! Graeme Kendrick, the brother who is always in or causing trouble, has grown up and makes the most marvelous hero. I loved him – and Sabrina Bell made the perfect heroine for him. She calmed the restless energy within him, steadied him, while he brought out her courage and spirit of adventure. Add in marvelous visits with most of the other members of the Kendrick clan and you have a wonderful, exciting, romantic adventure. I

Have you ever read a story that it was too much? well that is what I found in this one. We had to much going on, we had thieves, murder, rape, kidnapping, children in danger and lets not forget the main characters seem to always find themselves in trouble too. Then we have Sabrina I am all for a tough woman but this was not realistic to the time, and yes I know I am reading fiction however you still have to think about the era it was captured in and Sabrina would not be that type of character. I have been enjoying this series by Vanessa Kelly. This third book in the Clan Kendrick series treats readers to Graeme Kendrick’s story. Busy running dangerous missions for the King’s spymaster hardly leaves time for romance. While out on a mission he spied Lady Sabrina Bell pushed into the Serpentine River by a thief. Of course, Graeme rushes in and rescues her. While they both recognize how attractive the other is, they hardly think they will see one another again.

This historical romance is a humorous spymaster drama. The characters are all well fitted to each other in similarities of being irreverent, light hearted, with loads of sarcastic humor. The storyline and plot do contain content is of a serious and complex nature however, everyone has a sarcastic and humorous dialogue that left me conflicted.
I love witty and sarcastic banter, but I like it in good measure with a bal

First sentence: Graeme Kendrick lurked beneath the giant elm, keeping his prey within sight. After losing the slippery Sassenach a few hours ago, he’d spotted the bastard climbing over the wall that separated Kensington Gardens from Hyde Park.

Premise/plot: Graeme Kendrick stars as the hero in Vanessa Kelly's newest romance novel--the third in the series. (I have not read the previous books in the series. All books star the Kendrick family, I believe. And their presence as a family is HUGE throu

"The Highlander's English Bride" is the story of Lady Sabrina who finds herself being rescued from the most embarrassing situation when she goes to meet her suitor, the Marquess of Cringlewood, in the park only to find herself alone and under attack. Luckily for her, Graeme Kendrick is there to hear her cries and rescue her. When he finds out who she is waiting for (the very same man that has threatened his family), Graeme is ready to walk away but he can't just leave once he meets Sabrina. This ...more

The Highlander's English Bride by Vanessa Kelly is about Graeme Kendrick an inquiry agent for the crown and Lady Sabrina Bell a headstrong young miss. The two meet through the course of one of Graeme's cases when he's forced to abandon his quarry to save Sabrina. I was excited to pick up this book from NetGalley since I am such a large fan of Scottish heroes. The blurb on the back and the cover art also sold me on this new to me author.

Unfortunately, I found myself becoming bored with the story

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC given through NetGalley for review. All opinions are my own.

The Highlander's English Bride seemed to have too many things happening. There was so much going on with our two main characters that their love and romance got lost. I would of liked for them to spend more time together and getting to know each other without having to thwart so many evil plans. Gra

The Highlander's English Bride by Vanessa Kelly is book Three in the Clan Kendrick Series. This is the story of Graeme Kendrick and Sabrina Bell. I have read the previous books but did feel this to be a standalone book. Sabrina is a strong willed women who shows that through out the book. Then they meet again when Sabrin ...more

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

How have I never heard of Vanessa Kelly before? This Highlander romance was amazing. When I was only 20% of the way in, I knew I just had to buy the rest of the books in the series. The Kendrick clan is so easy to love and Kelly's characters are so real - I want to spend more time with them. As for Graeme and Sabrina, their romance felt natural from the very moment the spy "saved" the lady from the Serpentine.

The Highlander’s English Bride is the third installment of the Clan Kendrick series by Vanessa Kelly. The story begins with Lady Sabrina and Graeme Kendrick meeting while he’s on assignment and she is meeting up with a potential suitor which Graeme and his family have a history with. I found the opening charming as they both have witty personalities. However, as the story continues Lady Sabrina seems to always be there to interrupt Graeme from completing his mission. This is the third book in the Clan Kendrick series. It is best read as part of the series, along with book one of Kelly’s Renegade Royals series, as those characters play a role in this book.

Graeme Kendrick is working jobs for a British spymaster when Lady Sabrina Bell splashes into his path. Graeme is attracted to (but annoyed by) Sabrina, the pampered only daughter of an Earl and goddaughter to the king. I have always said that if I could move to Scotland right now, I would. I love the people, the landscapes, the history, and let us not ever forget the whisky. 😋

So it can be no surprise that I will read almost anything set in Scotland and Vanessa Kelly's Clan Kendrick series was an easy one for me. This is the third book in a series, but can be read as a standalone easily.

The Highlander's English Bride is 100% romance but with a feminist twist, especially given the time time period. This is one

Sabrina is out in the early morning to meet a suitor, but instead she ends up getting pushed into the Serpentine by a thief and rescued by a burly Highlander. And now that she has met the man, he seems to be showing up everywhere she is.

After rescuing Sabrina, Graeme can't seem to get away from her. She turns up all the time and usually manages to foul up a mission for him. But even with the trouble she brings, he can't but find himself attracted to her.

Absolutely delightful!!! How I adore the Kendricks and what a hoot it would be to be part of that clan:) Vanessa Kelly creates characters that come to life and the humour that comes along with them is priceless. I giggled so much throughout the story and could just picture all the scenes in my mind, especially the ones with Grandda Angus, omigosh, I loved him to bits!

Of course I have to mention a really brawny Scot (because of the clean Highland air no doubt) with a brogue I am sure would just melt your heart? Whether it is stalking a criminal or saving a lady from drowning in the Serpentine (regardless that she could stand up and put her feet on the bottom!), Graeme Kendrick, was your man when you needed a spy to run down a criminal!

I love this family! We got a little bit about most of the boys and what they're up to as we watched Sabrina and Graeme falling in love. I enjoyed the fact that Sabrina isn't one to sit back and watch life pass her by, she wants to be a part of the adventure so badly! Graeme is busy trying to do his job and make up to the family for what he sees has his "mistakes". My favorite kinds of romances are where the hero/heroine end up saving each other, but in this case they're keeping score! The story ...more

Another fun Kendrick story. I just love this family. The men are so hard headed, but when they fall in love, they fall hard. Graeme ends up fishing a woman out of the water. She promptly lets him know that she could have saved herself, he didn't have to help her. That is just the beginning. They end up saving each other several times. Much to Graeme's chagrin. He is supposed to protect Sabrina, but she keeps getting herself into messes and then she ends up saving him, again. She is so far above ...more
