The Smoky Hills Academy #3

The Wide Receiver Outcast

Rate this book
Welcome to Smoky Hills Academy
#1 in Football #1 in Wolf Shifters

Brielle

My brother is gone. Vanished. Disappeared.

Which is not like him at all. Not when he promised to never leave me alone in Smoky Hills. Even though I pretend I’m strong, I know I’m not. Not without Grayson. If only I could find him and bring him back, my chaotic life would finally return to normal.

Before I can even create a plan, another shifter from the woods shows up, making Smoky Hills his home. Matthew Young, the new wide receiver.

He's dark. He's brooding. And he has all other shifters on edge. As if there's a reason he's here that he's not telling us.

So I take it upon myself to discover who he is and why he's here. After all, that's what Grayson would do. And I’m trying to reinvent myself. This seems like the perfect way to do it.

Only, once I get to know Matthew, I soon discover that perhaps, there's a different side to him. One that he's hesitant to share.

His secrets come to light and I find myself torn between helping him and saving my brother, who perhaps, doesn't want to be saved after all.

For all the Team Jacob fans out there, this is a wolf shifter series you DON'T want to miss!

If you love misunderstood heroes and strong willed heroines, you'll love Brielle and Matthew in Book 3 of the Smoky Hills Academy series.

Each book does end in cliff hangers, just to keep you wanting more!

4⭐️ the characters are all so cute and protective and i love them but at the same time all of their stories are like i love you but we can’t be tgth bc of ___ like it’s just a bit repetitive😭 but i love that they knew which guy was the right one for them immediately🩷🩷like they are so lucky lol

This was an entertaining story. It picks up right where the last one left off and we get to see another new character coming in and he ends up fating with our female werewolf. We have quite a bit of action happening with the three factions trying to figure out what the others are doing and when to make their moves. This book is very closely intertwined with the previous 2 books that came before so it is hard not to give spoilers and I would say that you should definitely read them first to know and fully understand what is going on. The story was interesting and intriguing and we get some action as well. We are left without things being fully resolved as that is what the next and last book is set up to do.
The narrator did an okay job with the characters and the story. It wasn't bad it just didn't make them jump and stand out for me.

Matthew and Brielle's Turn!!

Book 3 of the Hills Academy story which still follows the main characters of Liam and Cora. This book of the series focuses more on the relationship of Grayson's sister Brielle and a stranger to the town, Matthew, who has another agenda not related to Brielle. Fortunately for Matthew, this is where his plan takes a shift!!

We also continue with understanding the conflict that Grayson has, now that he has disappeared and his continued struggle of who and where his loyalty lies.
Lastly, Cora tries to move on, Liam evolves, and the town of Smokey Hills gets closer to danger!!

Argh...!!! This is getting good, now I must wait for the final book of the series... smh
I'll guess I will wait!!! I'm really enjoying this series...

Growing pains

While change is inevitable it isn't always easy. When you don't know or understand why adults do what they do it leaves you feeling frustrated. Liam and his friends don't understand why their parents are making the decisions that they are and this leaves them angry and confused. When your fated is human and you're not entirely it adds more stress. Will a war break out between packs and families or will a peaceful resolution be found?

Wonderful story

But, it's a cliffhanger all the way through! I haven't put these books down! Read straight through from one book to the next, they're just that good! But they should just be one big book! I hate the breaks and having to go to the next book! Hurry up and read the last one! Can't wait! Great reads!

Fast faced, lots of angst

I liked this third book in the series. The story was carried along from the first two all building up to the final book. The characters are likable, but could have added more depth. Also I noticed quite a few editing errors. Overall good, suspenseful YA book.

Brielle & Matthew.

I felt like this was a filler book instead of what the first two were.

I honestly don’t know why this book is called, “The Wide Receiver Outcast…” 🤷🏻‍♀️

You get to know Greyson’s sister Brielle and a new character, Matthew. Unlike the first two love stories- this one held more of the story instead of the development of Brielle & Matthew’s story.

Love it

Love it, it is getting interesting, who would have thought that the person they sent to be a traitor fates instead and is telling the plan or at least what he knows if the plan.

Headed to the last book...

Goodness lots going on. Just reading the end when it says in the next book friends turn to enemies it makes me scared to read it..... I love how Cora and Rose bonded. I hope Brielle gets to bond with the girls in the last book. Onto the next.

Two Alphas

I wish two Alphas could work, that would be better than the other option.. This series is so cute, and perfect for my Niece to be reading… The story line is so heartbreaking but at the same time filled with hope and love..

Ohh....

That moment when you're just getting to the good part, and the book ends. Loved the characters in the first two, but the new guy is perfectly irritating. It makes for a new type of character though.

What the heck

The saga of the fated lovers continues. In this book we find Grayson does indeed love Rose. But like Liam, has to stay away for her protection. Thongs are not getting any better for Liam and Cora. A lot of frustration and agony in this book..

I liked the progression with Grayson and Rose in this book. Indifferent about Brielle and Matthew, but maybe in the last book that will change. The pining and reluctance in this book is similar to the first two.

I thought there would be more to Brielle and Matthew's relationship, but it was fast-past. I wish it went more into it as I want him to reveal the truth😭 I will still recommend this story if you are trying to reach a reading goal or looking for something quick to read 💕

Cliff hanger

Great characters and lots of action. Well done plot twist. Too bad it is a cliff hanger. Homecoming should be interesting

A good YA book

Book 3 adds a new character that you will love and hate. So many questions and story lines to bring to an end in book 4. This YA series is a must read.

I kept waiting for something to happen. Nothing ever happens through the first 3 books. Should have just been 1 book and still nothing of substance would have happened.
