This is the third book of four book in “The Lost Pharaoh Chronicles” series authored by Lauren Lee Merewether. This is by the way my reading of the first book by Lauren. In this series she talks about a period in New Kingdom of Pharaonic Egypt where Dynasty 18 rulers Amenhotep-III, Akhenaten, Smenkhare, Nefertiti, Tutankhamen, Ay, Horemheb ruled the unified Egypt. This is somewhere about BC 1390 – 1295. Once Horemheb became Pharaoh he decided to erase from Egyptian history the records of Akhenat ...more

A third great read! Scarab in the Storm is the third in the series, and I enjoyed it every bit as much as the previous two. The writer is both passionate and knowledgeable about her subject, and both shine through in the vivid descriptions and the compassion with which she writes. According to an Egyptology buff of my acquaintance, they are also well-researched, which, to me, makes them even more compelling. I find the subject fascinating, and initially, it was books like these that sparked my i ...more

Ms. Merewether's storytelling is extraordinary. Her characters come to life on the page. A story of deceitful, greedy advisors; lover's angst; a boy child thrust into ruling a divided nation. A story that the reader is compelled to turn the page to read what happens next. This is a fictional account of how history has been erased and /or rewritten. Readers who enjoy historical fiction should get this series. Book four and the final episode will be out soon. ...more

This book is a fascinating and superbly written fictional account of the reign of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamen. It is filled with action and suspense, the characters are well written, and it is obvious the author has thoroughly researched her subject matter. This novel is the third in a series—I have read and enjoyed all three so far! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys good historical fiction.

This author actually brings Egyptian history to life. There must have been a lot of research involved.
You feel as if you are right alongside the characters. I find myself making motions, facial movements, etc as I read (smile)! If Egyptian history is your liking, then, this is the book for you!

Amazing book and series!!

I really enjoyed reading the third book of this series, and now I just read a fourth book is being written !! Ms. Mayweather made me feel that I was in ancient Egypt. Although it's historical fiction, the plot and characters seemed real. I may reread the first 3 books again they were THAT good 👍👍👍!!! Also if you go to her website there are prequels and reading guides. More reading to enjoy!! I love all things ancient Egyptian!!

Loved reading about the young (and famous) King Tut. Now that's a name I actually knew! (Um, non-history buff here). Thanks to the author for making history so entertaining, educational, and enjoyable for me! I love the strong characters and getting to peek into the lives these people must have lived... like a trip back in time. ...more
