What an inspiring young woman! Given her age, I’m sure we haven’t seen the end of just how influential she will be but I’m glad this book was created now. It’s wonderful for her peers to see how they can make changes especially with highly influential people like Trump making damaging statements in the media that may be disheartening.

“Greta doesn’t think well-meaning individuals, just by themselves, can stop the problem. She believes that governments have to work together to create solutions. And they must act quickly. Still, as she has said herself, “You are never too small to make a difference.””

Excellently written account of who Greta is and why she is famous. Some simplifications in the explanation, but they can be forgiven considering the intended audience.

I received a copy for review through Edelweiss, opinions are my own.

My dad introduced me to Greta when he shared the her feature article as Person of the Year in Time magazine. As an educator, I was beyond inspired to witness the metamorphosis of a Swedish student into a global crisis activist. With Asperger's as her superpower and her motto "No one is too small to make a difference," Greta is an ideal role model. My second and third graders are obsessed with the Who Was/Who Is biographies, so when her story was released as part of this series, I couldn't wait to introduce Greta to my kids!

Chapter two's portions on Svante Arrhenius are especially jumpy, and this chapter probably requires additional editing for fluency.

Considering the type of book, it's not surprising that Asperger's syndrome and ASD are glossed over so quickly, but there seriously needs to be a bit more information. Even a page with info about Asperger's, similar in fashion to the informational tidbit page about the greenhouse effect, would have been perfectly in line with the reading.

This book is amazing! Even though it is short, it is bursting with information! It also about my hero, Greta Thunberg. She wants to save the environment, and I do to. I've always wondered how I can change the world, and Greta Thunberg helped me. I know anyone who loves the environment as much as I do will like this book!

I love reading more about this amazing young activist. Her actions have prompted many to tackle the issues of global warming. She also encourages kids, worldwide, to realize that they can make a difference.

This book had a lot of good information, explained things in a clear way, and let us get to know the amazing Greta Thunberg better, but the writing seemed a bit too simplistic for the length and target audience. Compare the vocabulary, sentence structure, and style to picture books written for a younger age group or to novels written for the target age group and you'll see what I mean.

I believe this is in a new sub-series of books called WhoHQ Now, all about current notables, and I don't know if they're all shorter than the regular "who was/who were" books or if it's just this one, but be aware that the length might be shorter than you're expecting.

That said, I really did enjoy learning more about Greta Thunberg in a bite-sized book accessible to school kids

Want to know the difference between Michelle and Greta? Michelle thought of climate change in the 1980s. She reduced some of her stuff, but didn't go past that, want to know what Greta did? She set about to change the world. I wish I could meet this young lady. She is brilliant and gets things done. This is a fun little book (I just adore this series of books) that will make you think. Thank you Greta for standing up for what is right. Maybe all kids should read this because I do believe that the kids are going to get it done!

I received this book as an advanced reader's copy from Edelweiss+ in exchange for my honest review.

This book is a brilliant to inform you as to how this everyday role model came to be.
Not only do we see how Greta's love of the environment came to be but we also are given the chance to view what in her psyche made her love so extreme, having Asperger's syndrome.
Books that explore disabilities such as this are needed in the classroom if for both children with this disability to connect to a non-fiction book character and for other children who need to understand other people's differences.
As this book is so recent i would have liked to know what Greta has been since the Davos and UN speeches including her books.

This is a good book for people who like going green but for me in particular I found it uninteresting. This is a book about a Swedish girl named Geta trying to fine ways to reduce global warming. I gave this book 4 stars because I love that young children are also interested in making our world a better place. I was also shocked to hear that such a young girl was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize 2 TIMES. My 2 stars are
1) I am amazed by the protagonist of this book
2) I liked that they made it easy for children to read
My one wish is
1) I wish they made this book a little it more interesting to read because this book did not really appeal to me.

This would be a great companion book, but it is really short. Additional chapters that focused more on global warming / climate change or on what students could do to support this cause would have been great. As an intro into researching activist Greta Thunberg, it works, but at 50 pages there's just not enough to it.

Inspirational story of kids making a difference in the world. Seems early in Greta’s life to have a Who Was book as she will most likely do even bigger and better things in the future. Yet, her story is one children need to hear.

Straightforward bio of Thunberg. Due to its adherence to the "Who is" series' reading level, some of the details are brief and simplified. For a more powerful look at this inspiring teenager's life story (so far), also read Jeanette Winter's Our House is on Fire picture book bio.

Did a good job of detailed Greta’s story without pushing biases too far in order to influence the reader’s opinion, allowing the reader to make their own decision. Short and concise; perfect for middle grade nonfiction.

I enjoy reading the books in this biography series for young readers. I am fascinated with Greta because of how worldwide her voice has been heard, as a teen! She amazes me and I appreciate her fight for our planet.

Even for the intended age group, this could have dug a bit deeper...I seldom agree with Greta, but from the recent documentary, I believe in her commitment and her passion.

This is a good book to inspire children to learn about global warming and perhaps start their own champaigns. As Greta said "You are never too small to make a change."

Marketed as a new Who HQ series called Who HQ Now featuring people and events in the news headlines, this is one of the first six books in the series. It features climate activist Greta Thunberg as she has been in the news for her public speaking engagements and her Nobel Peace nominations.

The book begins with Greta’s first introduction to climate change as a young child when her class was shown a film about the loss of polar bear habitat due to the rising temperatures at the poles. It follows her public activism as a teen ager until the current 2020 year. The book offers extras about her home country of Sweden and an ancestor who raised concerns about the rising use of coal and fossil fuels in the late 1800’s. Greta’s Asperger’s diagnosis is covered and explained in relation to her devotion to this cause and also her family’s adoption of a life style that allows them to live according to her principles.

This title on Greta Thunberg will appeal readers looking for biographies on youth advocating for change and those who also enjoy this book series. The reading level is 3rd-4th grade with interest for readers age 8-12. The edition provided by the publisher for review was the library bound edition which is sturdy and will be best for libraries looking for a book that will survive heavy circulation numbers. There is also a more affordable paperback edition which will be good for libraries looking for high interest books at a cheaper cost per circulation.

I would recommend this book for purchase. This book was provided by the publisher for professional review by SWON Libraries.

*I received this book as an eARC from Penguin Workshop via Edelweiss. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

This is a narrative biography with informational sections as well (like about Sweden or the Greenhouse Effect). The information given about Global Climate Change is framed to show Greta's journey of discovery that led to her passion.

This book is excellent for young readers. It presents facts an frames it along Greta's story. She's an amazing individual and an inspiration for all. I give this book a 5/5. You should buy this as a gift for any young readers in your life.
