Hardened, growly, and huge. When rough and tumble construction foreman Hollis Ford arrives at the house of his new client, he’s not sure what to expect. But it sure as hell isn’t a-list movie star Heather Carlton.
Curves that were made for his rough hands, wild red hair, untamed sass, and a spitfire mouth he’s dying to taste. Hollis hasn’t been with a woman in years, but one look at Heather, and he knows she’s all he’ll ever want. One look, and she’s his to claim.
Heather’s new to Colorado, trying to escape the craziness of Hollywood. She’s hired a contractor to rebuild the deck on her new house, but when she opens the door to six-foot-five of big, hard, and gorgeous, her whole world turns upside down.
When a long time stalker finds Heather and tries to hurt her, the beast Hollis has spent years locking away inside threatens to break free. Now there’s a new job: protect his woman, and destroy anyone that would try and hurt or take her from him.
Heather needs protection. She needs saving. She needs a big...deck. And Hollis is every inch the man for the job.
A reader first and foremost, Jagger Cole cut his romance writing teeth penning various fan-fiction stories years ago. After deciding to hang up his writing boots, Jagger worked in advertising pretending to be Don Draper. It worked enough to convince a woman way out of his league to marry him, though, which is a total win.
Now, Dad to two little princesses and King to a Queen, Jagger is thrilled to be back at the keyboard.
When not writing or reading romance books, he can be found woodworking, enjoying good whiskey, and grilling outside—rain or shine.
A very short, fun and sweet erotic book. I was grateful to find this short book as I was in a slump and didn’t feel like I was ready to jump into something too serious. Big Deck is that perfect in between read, a palette cleanser if you will.
In this story of fate we get a meeting of chance. Internationally known actress Heather Carlton needs to get away from the Hollywood scene for a while. Being rich, why not buy a beautiful home in the Colorado mountains? Hell, I know I would if I were in her situation as well. I really liked her. She was up front about her feeling and I love myself I straight forward heroine!
Hollis Ford is assigned a consultation by his boss at the construction company he works for. His best friend and boss owns the company. Hollis goes in for a deck consultation and a hilarious bunch of scenes ensued at Heather’s house that I found adorable.
The chemistry between these two was explosive front be start. You could feel the connection between Hollis and Heather. You get a sense they really like each other and even though it’s such a short time, you can’t let something good slip between your hands. Taking risks and putting yourself out there were the main narratives that really stood out to me in this book.
Hollis and Heather handled the situation like responsible, mature adults. I love readings about mature adults in a world of angst missed connections, sometimes it’s good to read about a real man being a real man. Hollis is the definition of a good strong man that you’d want by your side in life. And the way he looks I mean.... seriously no one could blame Heather for not being able to resist the Viking like sexy tall muscle man.
I will be reading more from Jagger Cole going forward.
When Hollis goes to his newest job site, he sure as hell isn't expecting the gorgeous owner of the house to open the door in a tiny bathrobe, nor is he expecting her to end up landing on top of him, without said bathrobe, after they fall through her crumbling deck.
Known for her fluffy roles, Heather is hiding out while trying to figure out where to take her career next. She certainly didn't expect gorgeous, HUGE alpha Hollis to be her new contractor, or to land on top of him when they fall through her deck. But even though there's a huge attraction between the two, she isn't going to stick around in this small town forever, Hollis can't leave, AND she's got a little (big) problem on her hands thanks to a stalker that won't go away. So yeah, anything between them will just have to stay in their minds.
Too bad Hollis isn't willing to accept that...
Big Deck is a fun, short read sure to set anyone's Kindle on fire, like it did mine. It's not super deep or anything, but it's entertaining and witty, and I can't wait for more from Jagger Cole.
Big Deck is perfect for a quick, dirty, straight to the point erotic novella. What starts as instalust speed trains right into instalove with Hollis and Heather.
When grumpy but extremely sexy Hollis shows up on Heather’s doorstep to help renovate her deck she can’t help but think about a lot more she’d like from him. Could you blame her? Equally as attracted gruff, idgaf attitude Hollis can’t wait to get his hands on her. Needless to say he does. A lot and it’s hot as hell. In the process you see his protective, sweet side come out and Heather’s strong, determination.
This book starts with fiery lust, is dirty to the core and leaves you sated with a happily ever after. This is the second novella I’ve read by Jagger Cole, there’s a lot a potential and I’ll be paying attention for new releases in the future!
This was a hot short story, emphasis on 🔥🔥🔥You’ve got your big rugged former Marine, who shows up to build a deck on the beautiful movie stars amazing house in the Colorado mountains (only he doesn’t know who she is). After a not so great first meeting, Hollis (Mr. Hotness) comes back just in time to help Heather in a bad situation. His Marine protectiveness comes out, and before you know it, these two are like molten lava together. There’s high heat, a bit of danger, and more to come. Can’t wait!
That being our heroin's problem with conceiving a baby. When our hero is a manly man, you absolutely not make our heroine an infertile woman 🤨 it made no sense to me and I was kept expecting through out the whole reading for a sign where that condition would change. But it didn't and it threw me off a bit. I would love for them to have a baby 😩
But the instalust and then instalove story was a beautiful one.

I'm always interested when a man takes the plunge to write erotic romances. It's not easy to craft a sexy, sweet and funny story without being offensive. I've read several other male authors who don't write as well. I absolutely enjoyed this book, it was definitely hot and sweet and both were able to find a path together. Jagger joins Eddie Cleveland as male authors who write entertaining, sexy books. It also helps that I learned that he started out writing Star Wars fan fiction, so I have to support a fellow fan who has gone pro. I hope he starts adding audio books for his works.
Yikes... I give 1.5 stars because I finished it. But this story was not for me. The author needs a better editor. A few embarrassing spelling errors. He overly uses the word wantonly. And I get it, the dude has a big dick, I don't need to be reminded of that every other sentence. The chemistry just wasn't there for me for these 2 characters. I won't be continuing on with this series.
Hollis.is sent to rebuild Heather"s deck but he has no idea she is a Hollywood star, just thinks she's a conceited but sexy heiress and turns down the job. When his boss explains who she is and sends him to apologize, he ends up rescuing Heather from.her stalker and ignite the flames between them in this hot little read.
So steamy ... Hollis and Heather make a cute couple. After a rocky and rude first meeting, Hollis saves her from her stalker. After that .. well the steam hits the mirror! A short, fun and hot story I really enjoyed reading
Romping fun... I love how they first interact, especially before Hollis learns who she is. Just a hint of drama, but not between the couple, which I love.
First time I gave a novella 5 stars just because of the writing and the romance between Hollis and Heather. WOW. JUST WOW. THAT SEXUAL CHEMISTRY IS 🔥🔥🔥🤤🤤🤤 ALSO EXPECT A SEXY AND HOT BOOK 🥵🥵🥵
He was just there to build a new deck. Standalone with no Cliffhangers. She was getting away from her old life, she never expected a new deck would change her life. He was there to build a deck, and protect the girl, plus maybe fall in love.
Jagger Cole may be a new author for me, but I am loving his novels! They are short, steamy, and pack a punch with their unique storylines.
I love Heather and Hollis. Heather is going through a terrible situation of a crazy stalker, though it gets more intense than that by the end of the book.
And the attraction between these two? Whoo! It sparked instantly and they did not waste ANY time haha.
I love Hollis. He acts like a burly, growls man but the way he acts around Heather just makes me melt. He is so protective of her and he can't keep his hands off of her.
I also loved the decription of Heather's house in Colorado! I would live there in a heartbeat if it didn't snow constantly there!
I'm so glad I stumbled into this author and I'm gonna devour more books by him! But I really enjoyed this story!
I would take Hollis any and every day to do repairs on my house!! He is an ex marine and built like a brick s*%#house. He is in for a big surprise when his most recent client answers her door with a shotgun. Heather wants to escape Hollywood and stardom to a little town of Colorado. She hires the construction company Hollis works for to repair her deck. The chemistry between these two is hot and heavy. Heather has a stalker she brought from Hollywood that has a few run-ins with Hollis. Will Hollis be able to protect Heather when her stalker comes at her full force? Steamy, sexy read that will get your blood boiling. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!!
This is the first book from Jagger Cole I've read and was quite pleased. It's a quick, easy read with an insta-attraction with LOADS of chemistry and an insta-love. The premise of a Hollywood star moving into a house she's bought that needs repairs and a hunky contractor that has muscles and skills for days. What does add to the fluff piece is the humor and wit the characters bring to the world-building. This is fun and witty with a penchant to set your bits tingling. Not to mention a bit of intrigue and danger from an unknown stalker. Although I received this book as an ARC, I also purchased it for myself and wanted to give my voluntary review.
Holy moly I gotta say this book was amazing and I loved how it was written and the characters of this story. Hollis Ford drives out to examine and figure out how much work needs to be done on someone's property. What he didnt expect is to meet the fiery Heather Carlton. He has no idea who she is but is instantly attracted to her. She wants her deck fixed well he can do that. What he doesn't realize is that they both are passionate and when they have a heated discussion and he walks out he's done. LOL well so he thought now he has to apologize. This is a love story full or sparks, half naked sexy men, oh and a stalker. Find out who wins.
I received an advanced copy of Big Deck and am voluntarily leaving a review. I absolutely loved Hollis and Heather's story, it was one of the steamiest books I have ever read. The protective nature Hollis feels towards Heather, in my opinion, is so sexy and enticing. I don't know a warm blooded woman that wouldn't want a whole lot of big, sexy and protective in their life like Hollis. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who needs a little something extra in their TBR piles and trust me when I say you will definitely need to find your own release after reading the steamy moments between Hollis and Heather.
Ah, what a fun read... Hollis & Heather were entertaining. Lust to love in an instant but oh boyza, they were on fire!
Big Deck, yep a play on what he thought he heard her say.... ;) Hot, sweaty, sexy with a leading lady in hiding and a grumpy, no-nonsense construction foreman who has no idea who she is!!
I’ve never read a Jagger Cole book before but after reading the first book in the Tuff Built series I’ll definitively be back for more and am looking forward to reading Hard Screw!
Hollis is an ex matine, big, growly but love his job at Tuff construction. He is sent to build a new deck on this big fancy house where he is met with a shot gun held by the sexy owner Heather. The story is sexy, their chemistry scorching hot and fast paced. The cast of characters are funny and so much fun. I can't to wait who's next to fall in this crazy crew. I honestly volunteered to review this story.
