The alpacas are so adorable and naughty. Thankfully they have Uncle Macca to set them straight.

Macca the Alpaca is back. He has nieces and a nephew, but no sibling is mentioned, kind of like an old cartoon. The kids are rowdy and annoying until Macca yells at them, after which they try to do better. This is a bad lesson for parents, really.

The book A Stack of Alpacas is a book from the Macca The Alpaca collection. It can be read as a standalone and the collection can be read in no particular order as well.

Macca the Alpaca has his nieces and nephew over for the day but the trio are known for causing trouble. What sort of destruction do they cause today?

Mr 4 and Mr 3 really loved reading and listening to this book. Both boys laughed at the several facial expressions Macca, Roo, Reece and Drew pulled. A few of them both boys mimicked them, which made the book even more entertaining.

As shown in the next few slides, you can see how vibrant the book is. We stopped and looked at the pages before we started to read the words on the page.

We also loved how some of the words (Words of Speech eg nouns, adjectives and rhyming words) are in bold print. I love this because when you are reading it out loud you can emphasis the importance of the word by saying it a bit louder. And what child doesn't like shouting words out?! 😆

Thank you @matt.cosgrove for writing an entertaining book and illustrating one too. We really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more of Macca and his adventures.

Macca's series is one of the most entertaining and quirky of picture book series to be found. Who doesn't love the doey-eyed allure of an alpaca? Macca and his endearing cast of friends and relatives, fill the pages with colour, humor and always a subtle yet sweet reminder of what's good and right and should be. In this installment, the topic of helping out and pulling ones weight is on the table for discussion as Macca attempts to alpaca-sit his young nieces and nephew. Unruly childhood abandon partners with a need to clean up and responsible behaviour; the results, a darn good, fun read.

Macca is babysitting his nephew and nieces, who are refusing to listen to any rules. Chaos ensues!

Macca is still adorable, and the text's rhymes flow nicely. We have Macca losing his temper when the little ones continue to misbehave. Not exactly a great textbook example parenting or babysitting, but it's one to mention to kids, how even adults reach their limits and how rules are in place for a reason.

Probably not a go-to storytime read, but still a fun series to recommend to families.

When the little alpaca cousins come to visit Macca, he expects them to follow the rules. The young ones have other ideas, though.

This story was cute and fuzzy; everything an alpaca story should be. It didn't have a lot of substance, but the rhymes were not terrible and the illustrations were fun. Considering how popular llamas and alpacas are right now, I can think of a number of people of a variety of ages who would enjoy this spunky read.

Macca has his nieces and nephew come over and they make a mess and break lots of stuff and act like most little children do. He gets mad and they apologise and give him a present and tidy up their mess. Eventually they go to sleep and accidentally Macca wakes them up. I really loved this story because it shows kindness and making amends for your wrongs.

Macca the alpaca is the world's best uncle! His nieces and nephew agree, but when he's on babysitting duty, they don't feel like following Uncle Macca's rules-- important ones, like eating your vegetables and playing nicely. How much chaos can Uncle Macca take from this baby alpaca stack before enough is enough! Humorous, colorful, a wonderful read-aloud rhyme.

Uncle Macca is taking care of his nieces and nephews, but they are more of a handful than he ever expected.

So much potential for cuteness that felt a bit squandered. There isn't much to the book beyond a forced rhyme scheme and a half-fast apology that makes up for a big mess and a lot of rudeness. Sad this wasn't a good storytime selection.

Fresh look at manners and how to behave. Macca the alpaca's nephew and nieces come to visit and make quite the mess. Seeing how Uncle Macca responds helps them learn about treating others better. Together, they clean up. Humorous ending.

Another brilliant and funny book from Matt Cosgrove. Macca looks after his nieces and nephew and finds them to be a handful. My little boy, and myself, and nanny all absolutely adore Macca. We must read at least two a night. Well done.

Illustrations are still great, but didn't love the story. Message seemed to be that doing your block will scare little kids into behaving!
