This is a mystery regency romance. A different twist on regency. Someone is out to get our leading man and shy sweet Delilah is being forced to wed him. I gave this almost no chance but it was good. The romance moved well and characters were ok. The story was alright. It was a nice read.

I did enjoy this story. Delilah was a little too timid for me at first, but with the encouragement of her godmother, Lady Newfield, she eventually came into her own. Timothy, Earl of Coventry, had a scandal attached to his name through no fault of his own. I liked the character of Timothy and the way he defended Delilah. Lady Newfield was delightful in the way that she stood up to anyone without fear. There seems to be a conspiracy against Timothy but who is the perpetrator? I enjoyed the way that Timothy and Delilah got to know each other. I received a copy via Booksprout and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Miss Delilah Johnston has been left orphaned, when her uncle takes over the title he sends her away to school, then he summons her back to London he has arranged a marriage to he Earl of Coventry who was disgraced the previous year even though he insisted he was innocent. Luckily her godmother Lady Newfield is determined to aid Delilah through the ton. The couple spend time getting to know each other but it soon becomes apparent that someone is determined to ruin them both
A well written entertaining read that I read in a sitting. I liked poor Timothy who had borne the brunt of the ton for an event he was innocent of. I also really liked Delilah who was very timid to begin with but with the support of her godmother & Timothy she blossomed throughout the book. A lovely mix of a burgeoning romance & a mystery, which held my interest all the way through
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Delilah has had a lot of sorrow in her life, now she must strengthen her mindset, in order to cope with her uncle’s plans for her marriage. Timothy, Lord Coventry, has been ostracized by most of the ton and has arranged for a marriage of convenience for the purpose of gaining an heir. The trials these two must go through to gain their happy ever after, makes for a wonderful afternoon read. The story kept my interest from start to finish and I highly recommend it.

Sweet Regency romance

I thoroughly enjoyed Delilah and Timothy' s story. It was sweet how they approached each other warily but soon found things to admire in the other. Working to solve the mystery of who wanted to ruin them brought them closer together and to the happy ending they deserved.

A gripping historical romance about finding love in a difficult situation.

We'd in Disgrace, is book three in Rose Pearson's Convenient Arrangements series. This entire series is about finding love in an arranged marriage, a common occurrence in this time in history. At a time when women were sometimes nothing more property to be traded for a better position at court or for financial gain, Rose Pearson has you imagine what would happen if a woman demanded that her needs be met in this arrangement. Wed in Disgrace has almost fairytale feel to it. The heroine, Delilah, is an orphan. There is a wicked guardian, her uncle who inherits her father's title and riches. The prince, is a Viscount, who has been disgraced in society. There is even a Godmother! Though, Lady Newfield is no fairy with a magic wand. No, she is a formidable member of the ton, who is not afraid to speak her mind and guides her charges through the traps of society.

I again found Rose's heroine to be a little too timid and doom and gloomy for me at first. It took me awhile to warm up to Delilah. (I had the same problem with book two!) Though Delilah is probably typical of the women of that period. Lady Newfield really had her hands full as Delilah seemed willing to take her uncle's abuse, wringing her hands and crying about her abuse. Lord Coventry , the disgraced Viscount was also a bit of a cold fish in the beginning of the story. But once Delilah begins to take control of her own life, the young Viscount also seems to grow and change. While I found the main characters diffulct to empathize with, I had to admit that their development over time was consistent with life, especially during Regency times.

Lady Newfield, who features in all of the books thus far is a delightful character! A woman of a certain age who has lived long enough to be able to sift through all the nonsense of nobility at the time. She is not afraid to call out the bullies and stand up for the vulnerable.

I also like that this novel has a bit of mystery and suspense to it. As Delilah, Lord Coventry and Lady Newfield seek to find the person, or persons, responsible for the accusations against the Count, the reader is drawn into the mystery. I found myself examining all the clues and trying desperately to discover the perpetrator before the characters could. I was enthralled by the mystery and couldn't put the book down until the suspense was relieved. Thus I finished the book in less than a day.

The best part of this series is that it is available in Kindle Unlimited so I could immediately pick up the next book in the series. Marvelous!!

After thinking about Betty agrees with her. When Delilah and Betty arrive in London, she meets her Godmother for the first time one Lady Newfield !

doesn't want to tell her. When he does give the man's name one Earl of Coventry, Lady Newfield is shocked.

She founds out from her Godmother that the Earl of Coventry has been set aside by society, he is invited to some events and Balls but not many. He has been accursed of attacking The Marquess of Chesterton.
As Delilah and Timothy meet and try to learn about each other it becomes clear someone is out to ruin him.I

This is a fast moving story with secrets and twists and turns for both. Will they find a happy ever after

Sympathetic Heroine Doing Her Best

I wasn't particularly wild about the previous book that I read in this series, but I usually like this author, so I wanted to give this book a chance. The author does an excellent job setting up the heroine as sympathetic. We meet her as she is just about to leave her rather horrid finishing school to return to her uncle's home. She became his ward when her father died, but he quickly washed his hands of her, sending her to this terrible school. Now he wants her to return so that she can marry. He has chosen the man for her, of course. The uncle has done a few despicable things, like take most of her dowry. I didn't like the hero at first because I thought he was a bit of a jerk. I never like that in a hero! Even if it's brief, as it was here. I prefer to like my hero as soon as possible. He's got a grim incident in his past, which he denies doing, but which has made him somewhat of a pariah in society. So, will the heroine accept him without issue, will she help him, or will she accept him but not help? What does her godmother, who tries to help the heroine throughout the book, think of all this? Parts of the story did strike me as odd, but in general, I actually quite enjoyed it, probably because I liked the heroine so much. She was a little mousy at times and perhaps was too gentle in her handling of the hero for too long. But, all in all, I did find this to be a page-turning read.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Miss Delilah’s guardian, an old miserable uncle, calls her home from school to complete an arranged marriage to a disgraced Viscount. She knew that since her uncle did not care for her at all, he would not have chosen a good man as her husband. Her only friend at the school was a maid, Betty, and she wanted to take Betty home with her as her lady’s maid. Despite the risk, since Delilah could promise nothing to Betty regarding pay or even the job when she married, Betty agrees to go with her.

Delilah finds that her betrothed, Timothy, the Earl of Coventry, is a broken man, destroyed by scandal, yet swears that he did not commit the crime the vicious lies and rumors accused him of – violence against a marquess. Will Delilah trust the man she is to marry and help him clear his name? Or will she allow him to face this on his own without her support?

I really enjoy this author’s stories. Her writing style is excellent, and the characters are always portrayed in a way that the reader gets to know them, both the good and the bad things. I always feel so bad for the women if a bad marriage is arranged. Marrying a stranger is awkward enough, but having no input or choice makes it a terrifying experience. Grab your copy and see how these two are brought together and whether they can open their hearts to find love and trust in each other.

To Wed in Disgrace (Convenient Arrangements, #3)
Rose Pearson

Delilah’s parents have passed away, her uncle placed her in a school from what I gather was horrible. She is summed back to her uncle and when she arrives her godmother is with her uncle awaiting for her. He informed her that she is to be married and her godmother demands to know whom she is to wed. When she learns is Lord Coventry she is a bit shocked and she tells him that Delilah will court the man before she is to wed him the uncle gets a bit upset but agrees.

Lord Coventry has been shunned by the ton due to rumours of him not getting his way and attacking Lord Chesterton. Lord Coventry wanted to marry Chesterton’s sister but he refused Coventry and wed her off to Lord Parrington.

Now he has made a contract to wed Delilah and the rumours have kicked up. Will things get sorted out or will the couple be forced out of the ton completely?

I enjoyed reading this story. No cliffhanger, happy ending and no adult content.

Do not pass by this book. Even though there are only 201 pages in this story it packs a powerful punch. There is intrigue, blackmail, cruelty, misinformation, lies, dark secrets and confusion. In the beginning the H/h are betrothed without either meeting the other. I loved how alive the h became throughout the story. She was a timid fearful thing and yet with the unconditional support of her godmother she learned to be braver. She is a kind, thoughtful young lady. She is empathetic to others except to her cruel guardian, her uncle. The H is a good decent gentleman who was maligned in a most serious way by someone who was a friend. The ton did not know who to believe. Most sided with the liar and others held steadfast to the H's side proclaiming his innocence. He lived in disgrace. The H did not know why this was happening. But he kept his chin up and lived through the snide gossiping remarks while he was at an event. All heck broke loose when the H started stepping out with the h. The h now convinced of the H's innocence, she and her godmother worked with the H to get to the bottom of the scandal to clear his name. What an exciting book. A must read. You will not be disappointed.

This is the third book in the Convenient Arrangement Series, which can all be read as stand alone';s. This book brings us Delilah Mullins who has been under the care of her Uncle as guardian. When she is summoned from school, it is to find out that he has arranged a marriage to Timothy, the Earl of Coventry. Not sure how she will survive this, she meets her Godmother-Lady Newfield, who intends to see she is well taken care of, unlike she has been up to this point. When she discovers who her intended is, there are rumors about his character. Will Delilah be stuck in a horrible marriage or can together they make this work? This book clips along with many interesting twists and turns that will keep you reading till the end. There are people out there who are trying to discredit Timothy even further. Will they take it too far? Can Delilah help him discover who is trying to do this? I really enjoyed the characters in this story. They were genuine and the love they found together was truly a HEA. I would highly recommend this book and the series.

Miss Delilah Johnston was sent away to school
after her uncle became her guardian following
her parents deaths.
Now her uncle has called her back from the
school as he has arranged a marriage between
Delilah and The Earl of Coventry.
The Earl has found himself disgraced from
society due to a concocted story.
Lady Newfield, Delilah’s godmother has come
to Delilah’s aid as she presents to society.
The conflict about the Earl needs to be resolved
for the couple to move into a trustworthy and
fruitful relationship.
The story was captivating, emotional and well
written. It is full of interesting plot twists where
the characters go back and forth from the past
to the present trying to find the culprit behind
the falsehoods staining the Earl reputation.
The story was replete with rich period details,

Circumstances evolve from inconvenient to frighteningly unbearable for both Delilah and Timothy. Orphaned then shipped away to school by her bullying uncle, Delilah finds herself promised to a stranger as arranged by her uncle who desires to rid himself of responsibility for her and to gain through the marriage agreement. Timothy, the Earl of Coventry, accused of assaulting a fellow peer who denied marriage to his sister, finds himself somewhat set aside by society, and in need of an heir decides to accept when approached by Delilah's uncle. As Timothy continues to be thrust into situations devised by someone to further disgrace him, he and Delilah, at her godmother's insistence, begin courtship to get to know sone another. When the betrothal becomes public knowledge, the scheming shifts to include Delilah. But Delilah has matured from timid, frightened girl to self-assured, oft courageous woman in support of her man. The game against them has many players. But who calls the plays? The answer totally surprised me! This charming, no sex story sheds light on the importance of reputation in social spheres. The conclusion, of course, is HEA.

I am loving this new series by Rose Pearson! She has a way with great character's and plots, I also love the way she adds a little danger and suspense to the stories that keep you turning the pages to find what is going to happen next. In this story Miss Mullins, uncle betroths her to Lord Coventry while she is away at school. When her parent died years before she became the ward of her uncle who now had her fathers title, he sent her away to school, as he could not get rid of her fast enough. After years of being away at school she receives a letter from her uncle telling her she is to come home for a short time to be married. Lord Coventry needed to marry to produce an heir, but because he was an outcast by some of the Ton he had to make a contract with anyone as long as they were suitable... All the twist and turns, danger and adventure, could they find their happy ever after together? I recommend this book, an excitingly wonderful book.

Delilah is taken from her boarding school to London, where the uncle she has not seen since she was made his ward as a child announces that she is to be wed to a disgraced viscount. Delilah is happy to meet Lady Newfield, her Godmother, who intervenes with her uncle and introduces Delilah into society. Timothy, the maligned viscount, turns out to be rather adorable and Delilah gains confidence through her association with Lady Newfield, Timothy and another young lady Miss Jamieson, who becomes her friend. The question of who is trying to destroy Timothy becomes more urgent as events escalate and come to involve Lady Newfield and Delilah.

While I wished that Delilah would get some backbone at the beginning, I liked the person she became by the end of the book. Timothy, Lord Coventry, is a good man overwhelmed by the meanness that has been sent his way. The supporting characters are well defined and likeable. The reader who likes sweet historical romances will enjoy this book.

Delilah's dilemma
Poor Delilah is being used as a pawn by her uncle. She is forced to return London, where it is announced she will wed a man her uncle has chosen for her. Fortunately, Delilah's godmother, a woman she didn't know existed, appears to help guide, support and encourage her during her transition to an unknown future.
Lord Coventry, sought this arrangement after his reputation was tarnished. And now, as he seeks to learn more about his intended bride, someone appears to want him wholly disgraced and shunned from society.
Delilah has only known cruelty from her uncle and worries her husband-to-be will be the same. It was enjoyable to read how she blossomed when surrounded by kindness and friendship. She's smart, too - avoiding the attempts of others to disgrace her as well, when their initial attempts against Lord Coventry fail.
There's a mystery as to who is causing the problems, and the reveal at the end surprised me.
A sweet, clean, HEA historical romance.

This was really well written. It wasn’t written in a way that was difficult to understand and was very enjoyable because of that. The author went into good detail and the whole time you read the book you feel the mystery from it. You feel this, even though you kind of know who the real culprit is, but it isn’t until the end that you find out why.

I do think though, that the ending was abrupt. I also felt like the love between them was rushed. I didn’t feel enough build up between them.

However, the characters we lovely and smart! It was really pleasant that the leading lady wasn’t rash, and making judgements about her betrothed before she knew him well. It helped so that there were not unnecessarily misunderstandings between them which was refreshing. I can’t say how many times I’ve read a book where the leads makes presumptions that take the story round and round in misunderstandings that weren’t necessary. They were also cute together. I think it was also because they were honest.

Lovely, short read.

Ms Pearson never disappoints!!!

Finding herself under the rule of a very harsh uncle after the death of her father, Delilah Mullins was thrilled to meet her godmother for the first time. She was horrified to learn that her uncle had arranged her marriage to a total stranger and that he had no intention of even telling her the man's name until her newly-met godmother intervened on her behalf. The scandal surrounding this groom was not new to the ton; rather, he was given the cut from many, while some preferred to give him the benefit of the doubt. Miss Mullins belonged firmly in the latter group once she was told about the strange circumstances her fiance found himself. Though strangers, Delilah and Thomas quickly joined forces with her clever godmother to remove the so-called scandal surrounding him. Meanwhile her uncle tries to bully Delilah, only to find both her fiance and her godmother thwarting him.at every turn. Can the trio discover why someone wants to destroy his standing in the beau monde? Can they hope for a happily everafter together?

Delilah Mullins receives a letter from her uncle, telling her she is to come to his home but not for long as he has promised her hand in marriage, as is his right as her guardian. She leaves the school she has lived at since the death of her father to return to the uncle that never cared for her when she arrives in London a ray of hope in the guise of her godmother is waiting for her. Lady Newfield seems to have some sway over Delilah's uncle and promises she will stay by her side no matter what. When they learn the name of the man she is to marry, Lord Coventry, Delilah also learns of the scandal that is attached to him and how most of the ton have snubbed him for it. It seems that the lady he thought to marry was refused her brother's permission and from this, a story started that was ruining his life. With odd things happening to him and Delilah they decide things need a closer look.

A questionable agreement or a desirable future?

If the amount of cruelty suffered by Miss Delilah Johnston was any indicator, she should definitely be wary of her sudden betrothal at the hands of her bullying uncle.

If the shame of a false accusation wasn't enough, Lord Coventry could only hope that his betrothal agreement would bring him a modicum of peace and happiness.

Delilah and Lord Coventry's beginning may be a bit rocky, but with the help of a special person, they may actually find true happiness.

Wed in Disgrace is a very sweet and clean romance between two likable personalities. Their story is simple but enjoyable. It even has a bit of a mystery to be solved. Although the ending is happy, I do wish Rose Pearson would have included an epilogue.

Content 411: This book is very clean. It is suitable for any age reader.

I am always excited when another Rose Pearson book comes my way! Once again, she did not disappoint. What a great series! This is such a delightful story filled with intrigue, mystery, and romance, I found myself immersed in the book until the very end. I just could not put it down! Her descriptions and writings style are so well put together that the story pulls you in and keeps you captivated until you finish. Delilah and Lord Coventry are a wonderful couple. They had a bit of a rough start, but as they spent time with each other and got to know each other better, they shared a great bond which developed into a beautiful relationship. I fell in Iove with them right away and couldn't wait to see how things turned out. A beautiful and enchanting story all the way through - I am really looking forward to the next book!

When her father died, leaving his brother to inherit his title as Earl of Denholm and become her guardian, Miss Mullins’ life changed drastically. From a home where she was loved, to being an unwanted burden to her cruel uncle. Without a chance for a season, her uncle arranges a marriage for her to a man she has never met or even heard of. Her godmother, Lady Newfield, arrives on the scene to offer some help and comfort. But her future husband, Lord Coventry has a terrible reputation in the ton. Being with him taints her with his “sins”. Meanwhile, he claims his innocence. Some one is trying to drive him out of society. Who and why?
A wonderful story full of mystery and romance. The ending surprised me completely. I did not want to put it down once I got started.

After several years, he thinks he has found the perfect suitor for her and has her sent back to London. Her Godmother, Lady Newfield is at the uncles house waiting for her. Delilah has brought a friend from the boarding school as her personal maid. Delilah discovers her betrothed is a broken man. he claims he did not commit the crime. Lady Newfield insists on courting time so they can get to know each other. Will Delilah help her betrothed, Timothy clear his name? Will they discover they enjoy each others company? I just had to keep reading to find out the ending. Very enjoyable.

Quick fun read if you are looking for a feel good clean Regency romance with a hint of mystery and intrigue! I gave it 3 1/2 stars. This series has been a fun series to read and this third book is no different. Each book in the series involves a betrothal that is anything but convenient. Most are arrangements that start off with nothing to do with love. This book was particularly interesting because the heroine is meant to redeem the character of the hero who is accused of beating up the brother of the woman he intended to marry. Ostracized by the ton though proclaiming his innocence, Timothy agrees to an arranged marriage to redeem his character and carry on his legacy. There are people though who are conspiring against him and Timothy and Delilah must figure out who is trying to sabotage him.

A lovely story full of interesting characters, twists and turns, the brutal reality of being on the wrong side of the Ton and the power of a godmother. Delilah was a great character who was dealt a very difficult hand being orphaned and then left in the care of an uncle who only saw her as a burden to be got rid of to further his own aims. Lord Coventry was a genuine man who had fallen foul of someone and even though innocent a trial by the opinion of the Ton was making his life a misery. I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Delilah and Lord Coventry, the growing confidence of Delilah under the guidance of Lady Newfield and the uncovering of the truth. A delightful romance.
