Many years ago, Vic Zarley was a two year student/teacher of a spiritual self-help book known as A Course in Miracles. He had no idea the Course was not biblically correct because of his New Age indoctrination. After his first wife died of breast cancer, Vic met Eva, his next wife and Christian mentor. He was strongly guided by the Lord and his new wife to drop the Course and study God's Word. During the first years of his marriage to Eva, he wrote many books which he self-published through Amazon. Eva meticulously edited all those books, making sure they were doctrinally sound. Although filled with incorrect and even deceptive Christian doctrine, there are parts of the Course that are taken from Scripture that are beautiful and profound. Unfortunately, Satan's modus operandi is at work here. He mixes the truth with lies which makes the material confusing and deceitful. Vic says, "unfortunately" because the Course does put emphasis on living out the words of Christ and taking discipleship seriously. Sadly, this is where many who claim to follow Jesus fall short. He wrote this book to encourage the Christian body in this direction.
It is available in both 219 page paperback and ebook format, selling respectively for $8.95 and $4.95. The 84 chapters in the ebook are hyperlinked.
(Won this books on Goodreads). Some of the information was very good at first. However, I feel that the same ideas were repeated quite frequently and seemed to lose its wow factor.
Hmm, was thinking that when I requested this book it would be more like it's title. "A Course" was not what was contained in it's chapters. This book was more along the lines of pointing out certain stories within the Bible and doing a commentary on that...was disappointed with that aspect. There were a few good things but I found it hard to stay with the story because it felt like I was sitting through a long winded eye drooping sermon.
