Reverie is an enemies-to-lovers office romance with some steam. It is the second novel in the Stonewood Brothers Series but can be read as a standalone.

Vick
Ever austere, billionaire businessman, Jett Stonewood, refuses to even crack a smile while vacationing in paradise. I’m determined to break him down by introducing some fun into his life.
If we have a bit too much by sleeping together, so be it.
The rude, overly practical man soon reveals that he can also be caring—thoughtful, and before long he’s the one wrecking me.
He’s drawn me into a complex dream I’ll have to find a way to forget when we return home.

The problem: Jett acquired my company.

He’s everywhere now, a constant reminder of the unattainable.

Jett
Victory Blakely needs a lesson in safety precautions. Not that she would follow it if our recent tumble in the sheets is any indication.
She’s too peppy... so naive it’s dangerous. Someone should break down her fortress of positivity, teach her that warnings aren’t meant to be invitations.

The solution: I’m the man for the job. I’ll Infiltrate myself into her life and let the disassembling begin.

The little pixie flutters around in reverie. Let’s see how well she flies when I reduce her fairytale bubble to dust.

Shain Rose is an author of Contemporary Romance and New Adult novels. She fights for love one word a time. Those happily ever afters can be difficult to get to sometimes!

When she isn't writing, she's spending the days with Doc G, Liv and Gray Gray, and their wild golden retriever. She and Doc G drink way too much coffee, eat way too much candy, and fight like they've been married for hmm how long has it been now?

Life is good when the kids are behaving.

On the off chance she's not writing or spending time with family and friends, she's calling them to talk. And if no one answers.... then she's reading and watching trashy TV.

Cringy start. When Vick and Jett sleep together, the whole 'making love' bit had our home girl delusional. Who dreams up making wedding plans and happily ever afters with a one night stand? Then gets butthurt when the guys tell you up front you that it wasn't more than a hookup? Yeah, that's not the type of heroine I like. There was barely a touch of a solid foundation between them and for her to conclude he's her prince charming. Honey no. It's a complete turn off and I barely even started this read. Beside that little snippet, Vick and her behavior only became more unappealing as I read through. I just didn't like her nor the ideal of her and Jett being in a relationship together which prompt me to drop this after much deliberation.

This is an honest review for an ARC received.

If you enjoy office romances, this book is for you. Although Jett Stonewood comes off as cold and detached, you learn that once he opens his heart he loves fiercely. Victory Blakely (Vick) is his complete opposite. She’s the starry eyed girl that wants her fairytale, and lives her life to the fullest daily. These two characters prove that opposites definitely attract, and the chemistry is undeniably hot.

This book was 4.5 stars. Even though this was the first book I’ve read from Ms. Rose it surely won’t be the last. I need to go back to the beginning of this series to get to know the other characters. I look forward to the younger brother’s book.

Your heart isn’t ready for Jett Stonewood! The brooding heartless man is about to meet his match! Vick is the best heroine to bring him to his knees. Add this phenomenal book to your TBR today! One of my personal summer reads for 2020!

You're not ready for Jett and Vick! I fell so deep for Brey and Jax in Inevitable, and Ms. Rose has brought it again with this story!

Light and dark, oil and water - this couple's chemistry is simultaneously combative (which makes it HOT) and the purest balance. They are everything the other one is missing and needs and the character development is top notch.

If you enjoy office / fling romances with a ton of extra heart, you'll love this!

Shain Rose comes back with another hit! Better than the first, Reverie follows the older Stonewood brother- Jett. While I am patiently waiting for a Jay story, this blew me away. The way he loves and protects those he loves is swoon-worthy. You know deep down that he's a hero and would do anything for his friends/ family. Vick... well I love her. She dances to the beat of her own drum and does it so well I want to be her best friend! Great job, Shain Rose!!

Yes yes yes yes and a million times yes.

“Do you love everything?”
She laughed at my question. “What’s there not to love?”

Victory Blakey right here was a literal sunshine who believed in everything rainbows and flowers.
She had a plan of living a life where she herself was happy and the people around her were happy and enjoying life and doing it for the fuck of it because 'you only live once'.
She saw herself happily married with 2.5 kid and a white picket fence down the road and she would have done everything to get to that.

Victory Blakely dragged the sun out of hiding the very next week when she showed up at work with her crew.

Jett Stonewood ladies and gentlemen was all things practical.
Marriage and love was a hoax for him,
Home with kids might as well be horror...
And work was life.
He believed that love is not something that needs to be fussed about and not something that fit right into reality.
Not everything is rainbows and flowers this side.

We made a day so perfect no one should have been negative about it.
Yet, there he was. Jett Stonewood. Mr. Negative.

The books starts with a destination wedding of Jax(Jett's brother) and Brey(Vick's bestfriend)
Just like a clock works, the heat bubbles up between Mr.
Practical and Ms. Sunshine and just like a clock works ....they fuck.

"Last night was last night. Now last night is over."
"But you said—"
"Nothing to make you think this would last till morning. Honestly, why did you even stay the night?"
“I stayed because I thought we were enjoying each other.”
“I enjoyed fucking you. I think it’s safe to say you enjoyed that part too.”

For Jett the fuck was a one night stand but on the other hand Victory made literal plans of them in the future w a white fence. (Ouch) because next morning when she tried to stay a little more he cleared it on her face that all the night was, was a one night stand/hookup.

I let him go. That man wasn’t mine to change.

They repeated the drill a couple of times while they stayed on the island and told themselves it'll be all over once they get back to the city.

Fast forward they get back to the city and Jett acquires Vick's company.

“Welcome to Stonewood Enterprises, Victory Blakely.”

Now they're the boss employee who have had sex and to Vick's word they WON'T be repeating that because
1) they're in the work environment
2) and MOST important of them all, Jett Stonewood will ruin her because she wanted kids marriage and things bright and he was everything but that.

BUT.
They indeed fuck in her cubicle.

“You’re wrong.”
I smirked. “He doesn’t have a backbone, doll. You and I both know it. He’ll probably make a perfect husband for you. He’ll roll over when you tell him to.”

Now it's a LITTLE complicated because there's a guy named Steven which is the perfect match for Victory
But he's.....boring.
He might be the guy that would fit her future but he wasn't the guy who got her going like Jett.

It was lonely when you had it, and it was lonely if you survived it. I worried about it coming back more than enough for everyone; I didn’t want them worrying too. Sure, it would be lonely if I had to go through it again, maybe not surviving this time.

Now what everyone did not know was that Victory Blakely was a cancer survivor.
She lived bright because she wanted all her days to count.
She fought for a pharmacy company who made meds that SHE took.

“So, Victory Blakely, turns out you're the Phantom behind the mask and I've been the one living in Neverland.”

In the way her secret comes out and Jett Stonewood watches it loud and clear.
He believes that she lied to the man she very loudly said she loved and he felt betrayed because for him, he had the right to know.

I’m serious when I say I need to trust that you’re going to put me before everyone and everything like I’m going to do for you. My business will come after you. I will be there for you. I’ll shield you from brightening everyone’s day when you’re having a shitty one.

Asshole realises he loves her when she one day collapsed on her way to work.
Left his office to be with her and told her he's going to be her family her man her friend and whatever else she wants him to be.

"Sky’s the limit for some, Pix. Not us. You get me?”
“I get you.”

Either it's been a while since I've read a book like this or it's actually so nice.
But yes
Victory Blakey is a sunshine and she pulled Jett Stonewood right in with her.

"Send the invite to my Outlook. I’ll make sure my schedule is clear.”
“Fantastic. Now, since that’s out of the way, are we fucking in my office or here at your desk?”

Also,
Did I forget to mention what a respectful king he was?

(Guys ignore the cover. I blinded myself for the cover. Fr believe me the book was better than whatever that cover it)

I could not really like Vick, and this poor woman was a cancer survivor, but the author made her very annoying.
I understand not wanting to open up to people about your sickness, but, wow, Vick just outright lies to Jett, and avoids her poor mother at all costs. She's punishing her mother for loving her and trying so hard to take care of her. Even if she's smothering, she is loving her daughter as best she can, and Vick is being cruel to her.
I was team Jett all the way as he was always honest with her. And for her to allow her past cancer be dropped on his face in a board meeting is so foolish of her, what did she expect? I totally agree with what he says to her after. 2 things especially;

“To the fact that you jeopardized our relationship before it even started. You didn’t come to me about this. You went around me and under me and over me but never to me. You never gave me the option to have an opinion, and you never showed me the respect of telling me what was really going on with this deal.”

And:

“I was trying to get to know you, I was falling for this vibrant being who lived on the edge, not knowing why. And then”—his eyes shot open—“I find you didn’t trust me with some of the most important pieces of your life. You trusted a stranger though. You trusted someone I don’t even trust with my business. You gave him sensitive information about yourself—my girlfriend—and the deal.”

And even after everything, her "accident " and Jett rushes to her side, she doesn't really ever Apologize for what she did. And it's at like 90% of the book and she is still judging Jett, believing the worst about him, thinking she's still some kind of fling for him!! She was maddening!!

I simply could not like Vick and her bullshit.

Spice was lacking also, too PG. This isn't a YA novel.

Reverie is the first book I read by Shain Rose and can't wait to read the next by her!
I started it this morning and couldn't put it down until I reached the end of the book.

Vick, the rainbow, the light, the ying.
She is living her life with happiness and in colors. She want that the people see all the colors and the beauty of the life, the surroundings.
But behind all the happiness and the light is something dark she want to drown - and it's not Jett ... not really. She has a secret, a big one. But you know...secrets that can't stay hidden forever.

Jett is a realist, sees the world in gray and black, doesn't believe in love, he's the yang.
He doesn't saw her coming like a wrecking ball into his life after their more-night-stands (it really was supposed to be a one-night-stand at his brother's wedding) and couldn't deny the color she brought to him although he was fighting it. But as soon as he realized that she is more to him as he wanted to admit, he was fully in.

They were fire and ice but are balancing each other out like ying and yang. They are perfect for each other. The story itself is perfetly heartwrenching and somehow enlightening to live your life as it would be your last. I loved their bickering, their chemistry and every written word in this book.

I can highly recommend this book to you!

— thank you so much shain rose for sending me this book & inviting me to be a part of your tour!!

this book was super cute! office romance? yup. grump x sunshine? yup. rich billionaire ceo? YUP.

the tension between vick & jett was absolutely off the charts! if you’re looking for a possessive man, look no further! i also really enjoyed the way their dynamic flowed, in a sense of push and pull, these two could be at each other’s throats one second, then kissing the next! while i did rlly enjoy these characters, i didn’t feel the sort of connection that i usually do.

that being said, shain rose knows very well how to spin both a romantic plot and one with serious issues that people deal with everyday! not a second went by as i was reading this book, that i didn’t feel enthralled and entertained!

I've read book by this author before and I this office romance, enemies to lovers book is awesome. This author writes a fabulous and they stories and they flow so well and always grips a hold of you when you pick up her books.
This book is a very powerful read and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Vick is a person that challenges everything and lives her life to the complete full and she is also the complete opposite to Jett as she wants it all in life and love. I love her and how she is in life and with the people around her.

Jett is a guy that really loves the people he cares abut and he will do anything for the ones he loves and he is very protective, but he can be a tough nut too. I thought that he came over as abit if a jerk and I thought in my mind I was clear how ii felt about him, but he will change your mind once he opens up and lets you in.

This author has written characters that you can really connect to and the chemistry that they have is sizzling hot and they are meant to be completely. I loved that we already knew the characters and what they are up to and this author did a fabulous job of carrying on the story. This story flows and once you get into it it hard to put down. I really enjoyed reading this authors books and I cant wait to read more from her in the future and I highly recommend this book its a real must read.

This book is expected to be released 25th June 2020.

Shain Rose delivers another heartfelt, moving romance novel for the perfect summer read. Her words dive deep and always make you consider the bigger picture of life itself.

Vick dreams big, feels big, and loves big. The main character wants her happily ever after and I love that she pushes for it! I've been a girl hoping for the perfect man before and she is completely relatable. Add in her amazing story, what she has overcome, and how she deals with it...I was moved beyond words.

I stayed up reading all night and fell in love with Jett, newest book boyfriend! He's such a hard ass but he wants to protect everyone. He's definitely the opposite of Vick in thinking of futures. Their chemistry, how they attract one another, and the banter in this book sparked and sizzled off the page.

I loved it, another top 2020 read by Shain Rose.

Jett and Vick are complete and total opposites in every aspect of their lives. Jett is this strong willed and hard-working guy that finds love and relationships to be a waste of time and the only thing that makes sense is running his company. Vick is a free spirit who believes in living life to the fullest because deep down she knows what it feels like to maybe not have a chance at a future, so she does everything with flair and fun. These two should not work in any way but their attraction to each other is too strong and Jett wants what he wants and that’s Vick, even if he isn’t sure he can offer her more. I loved the family dynamic and the friendships in the book, I also loved Jett and his cynical ways but getting to see he has a heart under that cold exterior. Can these two let go of their insecurities and work life long enough to see if they can make things last or are they doomed to fail from the beginning?

The writing is messy and seems like it was written by a beginner, I couldn't concentrate on the plot as it was all over the place (probably due to the fact that after each phrase there is a strange inner monologue and not good comparisons which made me skip some paragraphs because of it being boring, cringey and unnecessary). Sometimes the order of actions was wrong (ex.: "I wrapped my legs around him.." and only after a few more sentences "He lifted me up and carried me..". I mean, shouldn't it be the other way around!?).
The hero is an AH, the heroine is blah and lacks personality. Also, when at the beginning the heroine started thinking about her and hero's future, I was very confused as to why (is she that stupid?). And really hoped it was sarcasm. But no, she really was that stupid and pathetic. Also, regarding her "issue" she was acting like a petulant child.
It was like reading about teenagers trying to act like adults.
And why the author thought it was great idea for the hero to start referring to the heroine end her friend a "woman"(ex.:“Start caring, woman"). It is very diminishing.
Overall, I regret spending my time on reading this book.

Reverie was the perfect Grumpy Sunshine book! This is the third Shain Rose book I have read and I am legit obsessed with reading all of them! I enjoyed Jett and Vick's dynamic and the banter and tension between them. I loved how the author was able to highlight the stark differences between them and how Vick's personality drove Jett up the wall.

Overall, this story was sexy, addicting and really emotional during some moments. This was a great book to kick off the new year! 5 stars! ~Ratula ❤️

it was a cute office romance with witty banter and a strong heroine with secrets. victorys story was so sad yet she was always a positive and optimistic person, i loved that so much about her.

I'm so happy for the chance of reading this beautiful, beautiful story. Shain Rose I'm in love with your writing. Although it touches a very painful subject, the love story is amazing, Jett is amazing, he's the kind of man every woman dreams about, strong, territorial, hot, successful, dominant and so caring with the woman he loves.
On the outside Vick is like a sunny day, always so cheerful and bright but she's hiding so much pain.
Their love is not an ordinary one, their love knows no bounds!

Read it! It's amazing!

I have mixed emotions about Reverie, which has made it a bit difficult to decide what to say, but here goes. Victoria 'Vick' Blakely marches to the beat of her own drum, which makes her interesting to me for sure. She decides that she's going to show the serious Jett some fun, and if they land in the sack, so be it. Well they did end up there, and while it was super hot, I wasn't quite down with some of Vick's instant thoughts afterwards. Of course with chemistry like theirs, it's only a matter of time before they hook up again, especially since Jett acquired her company. He thinks she's too naive, she thinks he's the one, so you already know there will be drama with a dash of angst, and more hotness as they are fireworks waiting to go off. So, hit those one click buttons to see how it all plays out, I promise it's worth it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I have never read a guy so jaded and butt-hurt like him. He said he's a realist, but man I was so frustrated with him (I don't mean that in a bad way though) His views on life and love were so jaded and he intents on staying like that.

Until Vick comes into his life and sprout rainbows and pixie dust to his life. And this time, he couldn't deny the color she brought to his life. Although he did put up a fight. But as soon as he realised that she is more to him as he wanted to admit, he was fully in. He's the kind of man every woman dreams of, hot, successful, strong, and territorial, but also so caring to the woman he loves.

I loved their banters, they're just the exact opposites but together, they just work, they're perfect.

This is my first read by the author and I really enjoyed reading from this author and I can't wait to read more from her in the future.

Wha?!

How have I never read this author before today? This is not a Rhetorical question. This book knocked me on my behind and kept me up until 6 in the morning. I couldn't stop reading. It was that good.

The characters were multi-faceted. The storyline was engaging. There was angst, and humor, and banter. I cannot believe I've never read this author. I found her on a fluke. I wouldn't have known what I was missing and that would have been a travesty.

I didn't know there had been a previous book with different characters but I'll be checking that out ASAP because that is getting moved up my TBR immediately. Not having read it before this one didn't mess anything up.

This book is definitely in my top 2020. Come fall in love with Jett, and his Pix, Vick.

A very well written office romance. Jet Stonewood is not an easy man. He comes across as heartless and detached. His eyes are cold and one can’t trace emotions in them. But when it comes to his friends or family ; he protects them fiercely.
On the other hand Vick believes in a happily ever after thing. She doesn’t shy away from emotions. So fireworks were sure to happen when these two characters’ path cross with each other.
An enjoyable book I must say.

- work place, enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine
- imagine telling your brother ON HIS WEDDING DAY that 50% of marriages end in divorce, dickhead
- it was very naive of Vick to assume he wanted more but he did not have to treat her that way
- the story line with Stevie went on for way too long and then he was suddenly not mentioned once
- ngl most of this book just really pissed me off
- this book was way more confusing and complicated than it needed to be
- the spice scenes were great tho
- epilogue and proposal was cute AF
