This is the type of book that you can choose what you would like to get out of it. I read the books and realky enjoyed it. There are spots to journal and work on the things that the author brings up. She brings up stories that involve ptsd while showing you ways to bring your past out of you to help yourself. She does bring up Chakra's and finding your inner self. Even if you are a devout Christian, you will get so much out of it, even if you bypass the meditations and some of the thinking she brings up. Anyone that wants to be a better self and to lay down the past, this book would be very helpful to you.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
As a nature lover, this book intrigued me right away. Having been through a major trauma as a child and then having a former husband cheat on me with other men, I could relate to some of the emotions and thoughts this author had. What the author says about forgiveness is such an important lesson for trauma survivors. Overall, I enjoyed this book although it was a bit too "spiritually" for my taste.

Honestly, I heard about this book in passing on the news. I didn't hear WHY it was on the news. I just assumed it was a local author. I knew nothing about the book other than the title, Walk Through This. I had Hoopla open at the time so I just put it into search and saw that it was available. I started listening and within 5 minutes had a name for the trauma I endured 15 years ago - Relational Trauma Response. So many people; therapists included were so quick to say I was co-dependent to my Ex's alcoholism and every time I said, HOW can I be co-dependent when he led a secret second life? I was unaware of what was going on the entire time. It made me angry to be categorized this way. It made me feel stuck because people were asking me to work on being co-dependent and fix it with means that weren't at all related to me. I felt like they were asking ME to fix a drinking problem that I didn't have.

I'm not big on the whole meditation aspect of the book but the fact that I could put a name to what I had been through 5 minutes into the book makes me give it 5 stars.

As far as really reading and absorbing this book, I'm kind of saving it. I've spent my entire life adult life in extremely stressful work. 27 years in law enforcement and then 17 in Public Health Emergency Response (through the Ebola, H1N1 and now COVID 19 pandemics). When I finally retire in 2 months I plan to use this book as my guide to healing all of those years of stress. I'm waiting so that I can read, then act on what I've read because I'll have the time and energy to actually do that....instead of now when I'm just plain exhausted by my job.

Looking through the pages I can see that this will be just want I want it to be. Motivating, inspiring, thought provoking and healing. Let go of all of the toxins in my cells from so many years of shiftwork, stress, conflict, death,.......

Thank you #netgalley for letting me read #WalkThroughThis.

So much is wrapped into Sara's personal journey into the heart, mind and spirit of forgiveness. The journey of forgiveness is never ending, always revealing more about ones self, always taking us to a higher place of compassion, understanding and release. The insights and meditations that Sara so generously shares will, if practiced, serve as windows into deeper inner healing and release. It takes time, but time is what we all share together. Thank you Sara for your life's work, the destination is worth the pain, for in this work we find peace.

I did not realize this book was about energies and chakras. I am thankful Sara found healing and is helping others to find healing. However, my personal beliefs do not align with what I am reading, so I chose no to finish. I hope this helps others.

This book has some really good elements. While I skipped over the eastern and new age-y stuff I did learn a lot and felt more inspired to get out into nature more.
