Both of them have vowed from the bottom of their broken hearts never to love again.

Sweet Naomi Byler cooks meals for the guests at The Peony Inn, where Amish sisters and owners of the inn Esther and Lizzie love her like a granddaughter. She’s as happy there as a young woman can be, considering that her fiancé, Thomas, has left her to court someone else. She knows she’ll

This is an Amish book, and it is the first book in the Amish Inn series. All the characters are really developed, and I loved that the Amish sisters fights so much. This book made me happy and laugh. There was parts I wish was better developed, but I loved the storyline. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Zondervan) or author (Beth Wiseman) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for t ...more

A Picture of Love by Beth Wiseman.

Beth Wiseman has done it again! I have read A Beautiful Arrangement by Beth and I didn’t hesitate to request for another of her newest book from Zondervan through NetGalley.

Esther and Lizzie are such two dears!

Naomi and Amos, two characters who gave up on love. Their stories were so emotional and the book had the power for you to be patient while you read and dig deeper into the plot.

Another favourite genre of mine is the Amish Christian Fiction genre. I just do

A Picture of Love by Beth Wiseman is the debut of The Amish Inn Novels. This was an entertaining Amish story. I found it to be well-written with the story moving along at a steady pace. The characters are developed and lively. Lizzie and Esther are a hoot. I just love the widowed sisters who know each other’s foibles and bicker frequently. They are as opposite as two sisters can be (remind me of my sister and myself). Neither one had children and they consider Naomi Byler a granddaughter. They c ...more

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Zondervan through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This story was so touching on so many different levels. People underestimate the power of a commonality and in this case for Esther and Lizzie, it was painting. Both are widows that own and operate a B&B in Southern Indiana, love to play matchmaker with their friends and loved ones. It wasn't until Naomi moves into the B&B after breaking up with her fiance that t

Beth Wiseman’s A Picture of Love will delight readers of Amish fiction. Naomi and Amos’s romance is a heartfelt story of love, forgiveness, and second changes. This book has everything readers love about a Beth Wiseman’s story—an authentic portrait of the Amish community, humor, the power of grace and hope and, above all, faith in God’s Word and His promises.

This was a great book to read. I enjoyed how both Amos and Naomi used painting as a start to their friendship. The characters of Lizzie, Esther and Gus were super memorable as well. Definitely a great read!

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc!

Naomi has been all but left at the altar when her fiance left her before their wedding. Amos lost his fiancee to cancer. Neither feel they are in a position to open their hearts to love.

Naomi is the cook and housekeeper for Peony Inn, run by sisters Esther and Lizzie. Lizzie is what in some parlances would be called a "loose cannon." She says what she feels without a filter between thought and spoken words. Both Esther and Lizzie are match-making meddlers. There are a host of other characters t

A Picture of Love is an amazing story written by Beth Wiseman. This story is filled with love, loss, heartbreak, forgiveness, and second chances. The characters are very likeable and strong-willed which add to their personalities. The cover of this book will definitely draw the reader into the story. The storyline is well thought-out and takes a lot of unexpected turns which will keep the readers interest. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters stories even Grumpy Gus. What a fun Amish read. You have to love how Ms Wiseman balances humor with an in depth story that leaves you feeling warm and smiling. I absolutely loved Gus and his grumpy disposition that starts to mellow. I hope we see more of him in the future books to this new Amish Inn series. The characters worm their way into your heart and make them seem like family. I liked that Naomi and Amos were out of the box with their love of painting which made them seem more relatable. The sisters Esther and Li ...more

This is a fun story to read with sweet loving characters and a grumpy older man, Gus, who resided in a cabin near the Peony Inn. Lizzie, Esther and Naomi are always busy with their activities and keeping things going at the inn. Lizzie and Esther had long loving marriages and want their sweet employee Naomi to find her love after being jilted. When Amos and his mother stay at the inn they believe Amos is just the one for Naomi. Naomi and Amos both are recovering from their broken hearts but find ...more

This takes place in Indiana. The story is about Amos and Naomi finding love again. They start as friends, and I liked seeing the relationship progress. There is a bit of drama there. I liked the relationship between Ester and Gus. I am curious to see where it goes. The story also has some humor in it.

A delightful new series by the author! I can’t wait to read the future books.

We are introduced to Esther and Lizzie, elderly sisters who run The Peony Inn. Their niece, Naomi, who they have “adopted” lives with them, doing the cooking for the inn. We also meet the grumpy man, “Grumpy” Gus, who lives on the property, and Thomas, Naomi’s former fiancé, who canceled their engagement and left town.

Guests who visit the inn for a wedding, Amos Lantz and his mother, play a big part in this book. Amos

Beth Wiseman novels are a staple in my Amish reading diet and I'm excited about this new series centered around an Amish inn and the meddlesome septuagenarian sisters who run it.

In fact, I'll happily admit that Esther and Lizzie hijacked the story for me. Their good-natured bickering and well-intentioned romantical interference lightened the more serious aspects of Amos and Naomi's personal lives. Plus, there's a great sub-plot involving the sisters' interactions with a cantankerous neighbour w

A sweet, clean story of Naomi Byler, who meets Amos Lantz, and both of them begin a friendship as brokenhearted people with sad stories to tell. Naomi was engaged to Thomas, who left her and their Amish community, without looking back. Naomi was of course devastated. Amos had been engaged to Sarah, but she had cancer and died. So neither one was looking for a romantic relationship, which made their friendship grow easily.and quickly. Then Thomas returns, adding confusion to the mix. Naomi takes ...more

Delightful read, and charming characters.

Naomi works at the Peony Inn for two sisters who are like family to her, she has been burned in love before but when a man who shares her appreciation for art comes to lend a hand at the inn she finds herself rethinking everything.

Lizzie and Esther are two widowed sisters who run an inn together, and dabble in matchmaking. I loved their sisterly squabbles and teasing, and they were my favorite characters of the book. Lizzie's spirited ways made me laugh

I won A Picture of Love by Beth Wiseman through a giveaway by TNZ Fiction. The book was different in the way the Amish were portrayed than other books I've read with the Amish as the main characters and it was a good difference. It was a beautiful story of second chances at love and how the right person can light up your life and lift your spirits. I really enjoyed A Picture of Love and I enjoyed getting to know the characters, Naomi and Amos, Esther and Lizzie and even Grumpy Gus, who I believe ...more

Oh my goodness. I can already tell this is going to be a wonderful series and I can’t wait for book two!

Author Beth Wiseman writes a story that will keep you laughing and will tug at your heart strings. It might even get your ire up, as it did with me at times. But I read it as quickly as I could, partly to see what sisters Esther and Lizzie would do next. Throw in a rapscallion for a neighbor as well as an errant boyfriend and you have a recipe for trouble.

A Picture of Love is the first book of Beth Wiseman's new series, The Amish Inn Novels. The book starts by introducing readers to the owners of the inn; elderly sisters Esther and Lizzie. Personally, I loved them both and thoroughly enjoyed getting to "know" them (as well as their neighbours) alongside the main characters, Naomi and Amos. The book focuses on Naomi and Amos and we watch them bond and fall in love over their shared love for painting. I beautiful read. Would highly recommend it to ...more

We are at the Peony Inn run by widowed sisters, Esther and Lizzie, and a young woman they have taken under their wing and made a part of their family, Naomi.
Enter guests at the Inn, and our widowed sisters radar goes up and the start match making. Now Naomi is nursing a broken heart, she was so close to being married when, well, and then Amos comes with his heart in shreds, no he wasn't left at the altar, his finance died.

This was a lovely sweet Amish book. It is the first in a new series called The Amish Inn Novels. I, for sure, will be continuing with this series. It is really good. The storyline ran smoothly and simply and kind of made me feel as though this was "real life" Amish. It felt comfortable and real. Sometimes I found myself wanting to laugh a bit at the characters and yet there are serious moments. I love Lizzie and her "teeth". A lovely story, with hope, grief, and love oozing out of each page!
Great characters that are clearly defined and likeable.
My one gripe is Lizzie's teeth! 47 references to false teeth which I found totally unnecessary and irrelevant to the story. They weren't even funny scenes in my opinion!
