I am impressed with yet another well written and very practical book from Meyer. We know that changing habits will result in a changed life. Meyer explores the habits of women who want to keep growing in their relationship to God and live as God desires. It is a process, a journey, Meyer reminds us. The growth will take time and this book is full of encouragement to keep going. Meyer even shares many of her own experiences in developing the habits.

Some of the habits were expected, like making being in God's Word a priority. I knew she would have lots to say about disciplined thoughts too. But there were some surprises, like building a habit of generosity, blessing other people. And then there was the habit of contentment. That one is a challenge in this consumer focused society.

I love that Meyer is so practical. She gives great instruction on developing the habits. Knowing that forgiveness may be difficult, for example, she gives specific steps. First, generate the desire, then make the decision, and finally depend upon the Holy Spirit.

This is a great book for women who want to build their life on spiritual habits, a life pleasing to God. You'll get plenty of encouragement and lots of practical strategy to get you on the path.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

I purchased 5 copies of this book a few weeks ago to share with friends and I revisited it a few times. I thought it was a good read, as everyone has habits in life and can somewhat relate. Short and compact, written in 25 concise chapters with a quote at the beginning of each chapter. I really liked the quote on page 209 by John C. Maxwell. "You'll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine." Chapter 25: 8 Practical ways to develop Godly habits was a fitting direction to end the book. Overall a good investment of time and worth reading.

Most of us have at least one habit or two that we would like to change. But we can create good habits as well as get rid of bad habits. Joyce Meyer wants to help women do just that with this book, Habits of a Godly Woman.

Habits of a Godly Woman starts out with a chapter on the Proverbs 31 woman. Meyer says we don't want to be legalistic in our thinking of this woman but we can look to her as an example and try to emulate her traits. There are many chapters with godly habits illustrated and explained. Habits such as prayer, reading the Bible, being thankful, being joyful, not worrying, being generous, living simpler lives, serving others, and having self-control. Each chapter is short and easy to read and reflect on with 3 habit-building Bible verses that relate to the topic at the end. The last chapter of the book is entitled, "Eight Practical Ways to Develop Godly Habits." This chapter gives brief instructions on how to best put new habits in to practice and have them becoming lasting changes for the better.

I think Habits of a Godly Woman is a good book to read and reflect on in the mornings as part of my devotional routine. It is also a nice book to stick in your purse or book bag to read when you have a few minutes as it is small and easy to carry along. It has a pretty cover. It would also make a nice gift for a woman for a special occasion. Each topic is just touched upon so it is not overwhelming. However, it is also not as deep as it could be if it were a larger book so it may inspire further reading in the Bible and other books for those who really want to work on a certain area. Meyer keeps everything Bible based but she also shares personal stories from her own life. I always appreciate that she comes across so down-to-earth and shares some of her challenges in living the Christian life from her heart.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own. #sponsoredbyfaithwords

Read📖 - I absolutely loved this book! I felt as if the habits were so obvious, yet they grasped my brain and altered my mindset in a matter of seconds!! Before reading this book I felt that God was silent when I would ask Him for signs or for guidance on what I needed to do in life, then all of a sudden He placed this book in my hands and I immediately praised Him and thanked Him!! I have begun making Godly habits in my everyday routine and have already noticed a shift (for the better) in my relationship with the Lord. I feel as if this book scratched the “self-help” itch I was looking for and I would absolutely recommend to my sisters in Christ lol!!

This book got to me at the perfect time. It is full of God's truth and stories that help the reader relate and understand his principles a bit better. In many ways, it helped me to put what I have been thinking and feeling into words that just really "revealed" what I wanted to say to God but didn't really have the words (you know?). Anyway, I definitely recommend this to anyone who has been on a road of wanting to get closer to God but not always knowing where to start or how to word it out to Him or maybe even express it.

"Habits of a Godly Woman" is a quick, easy and short read. Joyce starts each chapter with an inspirational quote. Joyce ends each chapter with Bible verses. The author centers her text on the Proverbs 31 Woman. Joyce talks about the importance of God's Word and prayer. She shares good habits that a Godly woman should practice, like the habit of gratitude and the habit of trusting God. She explains how to experience a life of joy, confidence and peace and how to enjoy each day. The author discusses the significance of positive thoughts and words as well as how to be content. She talks on the topic of forgiveness and how to release your worries to God. Joyce's chapters are about how to be generous and how to serve others. Joyce writes about how to mature in excellence and discipline and self-control. Chapter 25 is all about the eight ways to develop Godly habits, like finding a support system and celebrating positive steps. This is a good read and an encouraging biblical resource, and I highly recommend it!

Changing Habits Will Change Your Life

“If you change your habits, you’ll change your life,” says bestselling author Joyce Meyer in the opening sentence of this powerful little book, HABITS OF A GODLY WOMAN. The book covers over 20 habits such as Faith, Gratitude, Positive Thoughts and many more with a mixture of personal stories and practical information. Each habit concludes with a Habit Builder section with several relevant Bible verses.

The final chapter of this book includes Eight Practical Ways to Develop Godly Habits and Meyer says, “As you work to develop good habits with God’s help, every day can be an adventure in progress rather than another day wasted doing the same old things. Every godly habit you develop will make your life better and make you happier.” (Page 209-210).

Every reader can gain a lot of wisdom and insight from HABITS OF A GODLY WOMAN. I highly recommend it.

Habits of a Godly Woman is an inspirational book by author Joyce Meyer.

In her book, Joyce speaks about ways to put God first. Some of the ways are through prayer and Bible reading.

Each chapter begins with a quote or piece of scripture. The goes on to relate how a godly woman can grow in godliness, ending with scripture references to help with Habit Builders.

I appreciate the chapter on prayer, most of all. The reader is reminded that prayer is not complicated. The point of prayer is to turn our hearts toward God.

I recommend this book to Christian women who are looking for an inspiring read.

Another must-read from Joyce!

God was not part of my home growing up, and the older I get, the more I discover deficits in my life because of it. Joyce is my spiritual mother, my maternal Godly advisor, and beloved voice of biblical wisdom and encouragement that I never have had. This booklet is a simple read with a powerful message. I will go back through it, habit by habit, and invest several weeks on each one until it becomes my habit, then on to the next. This is transforming and well, well worth the short time it takes to read. God bless you, mother Joyce, and all my sisters (and brothers - yes, these are fantastic habits for the men in our lives, as well, young and old!) in Christ!

This encouraging guide will both instruct and reinforce the right path for the reader whose daily walk through life may sometimes feel more like she is wandering through dark woods or riding in the front cart of a roller coaster about to jump the tracks. Joyce Meyer applies the balm of Scripture to each of the twenty-three habits she covers. Plenty here to highlight and commit to memory. Anyone looking to be a better disciple of Christ will benefit from this book.

Some chapters were really good, and I was challenged to form new habits or mindsets. Other chapters were just ok. Many of the habits seem surface level unless you’re a brand new believer. I would have liked more practical, deeper application and processing.

This compact book packs a mighty punch.
It's a gentle yet strong reminder that in order to be godly women we need to CHOOSE to be embrace joy, peace, hope, to think positively, to receive and extend forgiveness, and to live a life of excellence (among may other characteristics).
Joyce Meyer is known to speak simply and pull no punches which is why I love her ministry so much.
I read this book with a small group of women and it was an amazing time of faith and friendship.
This is the kind of book that can be read over and over and you'll receive new nuggets of truth each time.
Loved it.

"If you make God’s Word a priority, everything else will fall into place."

The book was good, although some of the chapters felt like only being surface level and it would've been good to dig a lot deeper.

Other quotes I liked:
People today are desperate for truth, direction, wisdom, and peace. I have observed this to be the case for people of all ages and from a variety of life experiences. Sadly, I have also seen many people chasing after these things in ways that will never satisfy them.

Give God a portion of the best part of your day, not the worst.

The world doesn’t give peace, for it doesn’t have any peace to give. It fights for peace, it negotiates for peace, it maneuvers for peace, but there is no ultimate peace in the world. But Jesus gives peace to those who put their trust in Him. —Billy Graham

He will not take care of our problems and worries—our cares—until we release them and give them to Him. This doesn’t mean that we are to become irresponsible or lazy. God will not do for us what we can do for ourselves. We must do what we can do and then trust God to do what we cannot do. When we humble ourselves and ask for His help, then He releases His power in our situations.

Meyer once again delivers another eloquently written book - this time about godly habits that a Christian woman should develop. In it, a non-exhaustive list of 23 key habits are examined in straightforward chapters aimed to steer the Christian woman towards Christlikeness.

A principal aspect of the book is how it is steeped in God’s Word. I learnt very early on that biblical context is important to avoid the misinterpretation of verses. The way Meyer weaves in Scripture references in relation to a specific habit has helped me to better understand its intended meaning and thus, application in my life.

However, given its compactness, what I found lacking in detail is practical steps one can undertake to develop those habits to effect a behavioural change reflective of Christ’s light. The what and why are expounded in depth but the how is not established very clearly.

Habits of a Godly Woman is overall a precious and timeless resource that I will go back to. Although it is written for Christian women, Christian men can also benefit from it.

“It’s important to keep moving forward, even when you feel you’ve taken a step backward” - Habits of a Godly Woman
Joyce Meyer

Develop a good habit takes time, it’s hard but never imposible. Good habits are not just fisical habits, involves mental and spiritual ones.
It’s like a well-being chain that starts when we became fulfilled with the Holy Ghost and culminates when we do what we should do.
One of the many advices in this book just touches my heart and mind , and it’s to speak with kindness, gratitude and speak life about my own life and what surrounds me.

I know that the enemy is not glad hearing these things, but I’m not going to stop until I develop nice habits .

"They" say if you do something consistently for 40 day it becomes habit! Joyce takes practices, virtues, and character traits and teaches us to make them habits.
The Habit of Hope is my favorite and it's Biblical-based hope - not wish upon a star.
This pretty little book is perfectly sized for travel or gifting.
Joyce always hits the nail on the head.
Recommended for the woman who wants to create some new habits and hone the good ones she already has!

If you’re looking for self-help books that bring you closer to God, this is the one. It provides so much insight on how our habits affect our spiritual life, and how we can change them for the better. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and it was able to shift my perspective on incorporating spiritual growth into little things I do on a daily basis. Such a great read, I’d recommend it over and over again!

I really wanted to enjoy this book. I am not a Christian but I read a lot of spiritual work from many traditions and I thought this book looked inspirational. However on page 16 she mentions how astrology is the devils work and as a professional astrologer I do not think I can continue with this book. I returned it for a refund.

Can't Go Wrong

You can open this book to any page and begin the journey of changing your life for the better. You can honestly read this book in 1-2 days. I decided to focus on 1 habit a day and still the Holy Ghost was dealing with me days after on some of them.
Written in very simple terms that anyone can understand and a must read for all not just women!

This book was very encouraging and really dealt with topics that were relevant to me.

The habit builders with Scripture at the end of each chapter was motivating and gave me a stem to branch off of.

Practical actions and a summary of how to start building these Godly Habits were put at the end of the book too, which I found helpful.
