Silly, fun, and reminiscent of Ant Man and marvel, the illustrations are well-done. The text is simple enough to be read on its own or with a parent. Fans of Marvel and Ant-Man will enjoy reading this book or reading it with an adult.

With the popularity of the Avengers right now, kids will love this superhero-themed book. The repetition of “Can Ant-Man grow bigger than…” is sure to get little ones reading. I love that we meet Ant-Man’s daughter in the book and she is telling her Dad to “grow up” because he is acting so silly (don’t we all wish that of our parents sometimes?!). There are cameo appearances of all our Marvel favorites. Kids will have fun picking them out and identifying them. Von Innerebner’s illustrations are wonderful. They are perfect comic meets a picture book illustrations.
What is also cool is that the jacket of the book is a growth chart that your child can track how big they are compared to some superheros. *Please note I received a free review copy of this book

I gave this book 4 stars because it shows Ant-Man going through life trying to show off to his daughter by having fun. He gets way too small and then gets way too big that he nearly touches the moon. At the end of the book, the daughter is very proud of him and wants to be just like him. It would be a fun read for 1st-2nd graders. It shows how important it is to listen and how it is good to love your parents.

My nephews love Ant-Man, so I checked this out from the library to read to them. They wanted me to read it over and over and enjoyed the appearances of the other Marvel characters! It would be a good story time book to read for a Father's Day theme!

I read this for my Thursday storytime this week, since we were doing a superhero theme and I didn't have many good options. I explained who Ant-Man is at the beginning, and then I read the story with lots of expression, as Ant-Man gets bigger and bigger. This was a good fit because it was short enough to accompany my other, longer book, but I still didn't love it.

Cassie says things like, "Grow UP, Dad!", and although the book ends with her saying that her dad is her hero and that she wants to be like him someday, the overal emphasis of the story is on Ant-Man being a doofus and Cassie knowing better. I don't like how often children's entertainment portrays dads as hapless idiots, and I hoped that the two dads in my audience wouldn't be offended. I decided not to read this for my Saturday storytimes, when I would have lots of dads present. Instead, I went with the surprise-ending book The Neighbors.

It takes a normal picture book storyline and shows how it fits Ant-man. I've said it before and I'll say it again I like these comic book characters being a part of picture books. They feel like they are thoughtfully done and I like that.

This picture books relies heavily on Ant-Man's silliness and humor, as well as his close relationship with his daughter, readers might be aware of from watching superhero movies. Cassie, Ant-Man's daughter, tells him to grow up after shrinking Thor's hammer to ant size, and he takes it quite literally, growing larger than anything on Earth. All that growing is exhausting and when he finally stops being silly, and shrinks back to ant size, Cassie let's him know what she thinks of him, while tucking him into bed, a doll bed that is. Sweet and silly daddy-daughter story.
